Not really disappointed, seeming as how everybody equates it with traffic. Although, just for the record, drive can also be defined as "the impelling along", "a vigorous onset toward a goal", "a strong military offensive", "a united effort to accomplish some specific purpose", and "initiative". Dictionary.com FTW.

I'd say excise the word 'Horde' from the definition entirely.
Just 'The Will' has more poetry to it, in my opinion. Otherwise, Horde Will would be my vote.

I'd say we use both variations: "Horde will" (or instinct or whatever) as well as "The Will". The first variant makes clear what you're speaking about even when you talk about other will-related things, so it's good to have such a term at hand.

Good point. Whenever it's not clear that we're talking about the Horde's will, you should have it out in front there.
But when it's clear, just 'the Will' is what defines the anonymous hatred... Uh... Thing.

I'll vote for one. But I kinda feel we should step carefully around the hive mind idea. Remember Hordling are indivuals and probably want to remain that way. Plus it seems to be edging very close to a psionic race like the illithids or cranium rats. Unless this horde mind is an occurence rather than a common generalisation.

I'm still thinking about all the recent posts seeing the Hive Mind idea critically - and I agree. Yet, I think the Hordling hive mind should come, we just need to make sure how we define it without destroying the ideas that make Hordlings what they are.
