A homily of the Waste

Grey.
Always grey.
I lie still.
Colors bleed.
Grey.
Unending grey.
The world turns.
The wheel spins.
I lie still.
Grey.
Unending grey.
I feel.
I felt.
I bleed.
I bled.
The world turns.
The wheel spins.
Grey.
Always grey.
I wonder.
I pause.
I ask.
Am I?
Are we?
Are they?
Grey.
Unending grey.
Crave the cold.
Yearn for pain.
Beg for sense.
Grey.
Always grey.
Ask for food.
Pray for rain.
Plead for help.
The world turns.
The wheel spins.
Grey.
Unending grey.
Always there.
Always here.
Never stopping.
Never ceasing.
Grey.
Always grey.
Lie still.
Leave all.
Colors bleed.
Life stills.
The world turns.
The wheel spins.
Grey.
Unending grey.

Nice, except you misspelled "gray".

I like it. Though I'd link one or more lines together with a comma, to make it appear shorter.

That's a potatoe-vs-potato issue.

Yeah, the British spell "gray" with an "e" and sometime foolish Americans do the same thing. Take the city of "Greyhawk," for instance.

I spelled it "grey" for three reasons:

1) Although I'm American, I grew up outside the States. "Grey" is the natural spelling for me.

2) "Grey", being the British spelling, fits more naturally with Sigilian cant IMO.

3) I say the words slightly differently. [Doubt anyone else does, though.] "Gray" has a slightly longer diphthong into the glide and hence is a more expressive word to me because it has more tonal variation. "Grey" is a more monotonic (albeit higher pitched) word, which better fit with the theme.

And thanks for the compliments Smiling

ETA: Although in retrospect, I should really have changed the order of some of the verses. Oh well.
