Hello, right now I’m rigging an exemplary walking cycle with MakeHuman.
This program is open, free, small, easy and I simply love it Smiling.
You don't need to have any particualr graphical skills in order to use it, just a feeling for what pose looks natural.

If you would like to help me creating animations with MH, then please drop a note.

Various 3d models for stuff like armor, etc. are of equal importance.
(The format is not so important, as long as it can be imported into Blender.) They don’t have to be perfect, just capable of development.

And we will need textures (.png preferred) for the various places in Sigil, floors and walls in particular.

Ah, sketches would be great, too.

I don't know what formats blender takes. Do you have a list?

My (out-of-the-box) Blender 2.45 tells me that it will import: Looks like “anything goes”.

Alright Rabenaas, I'll scour my source and see If I can find anyone who knows, has got or is willing to get textures.

Or if worse comes to worse my brother can help I guess.

Some of the textures I suggest we use. To look at what I've suggested so far head to GRsites.com and take a view for yourself.

Request to our 3d-artists:

We need models in 3d for different characters as PCs and NPCs.

Since these are all humanoid, I suggest you use MakeHuman 0.9.1 RC1 for generating the initial grid and texture. (I’m getting repetitive on this, I know. Punch me if I bore you. You might as well use other tools: Poser, standard free handed modelling, whatever you like..., as long as the quality is comparable to MH and you don’t mind spending hours on what could be done within minutes.)

There should be a set of standard types (eg. Ectomorph, Mesomorph, Endomorph), then subdivide it into male/female and then adapt these to the diverse flavours of races, which might be mostly done by adjusting size and face, I think.

At this stage a female githzerai should be clearly distinguishable from a male hobbit.

Load what you have into your favourite 3d tool, make it even more distinguishable (orc’s teeth and such) and give it 1) hair 2) clothes / armour. Make a clear distinction between body and clothing, in order to change the latter freely.
(there is are nice Minitutorial - Clothes for Makehuman)

The product will go to the animators. (And don’t be avaricious on the polygons.)
