Githyanki questions

Knights: I recall that in 2e/Guide to the Astral Plane, the various orders of githyanki knights are only as old as the reign of the most recent Revered Queen (more than 1,000 and less than 2,000 years). I am not sure whether that is true in 3e or not. Is it true in the PW.com continuity?

The Queen's Honor: How old is this tradition? Does it go back as far as Vlaakith I? If so, did early queens 'only' ritually slay them? (Specifically, what about the creation of intelligent undead, sword-spirits and such? The latter 'seems' more like something the most recent Vlaakith would do, as compared to her predecessors.)

Psions: Yeah, what about psions who impress the Revered Queen when they show up in the Palace of Whispers? Are there intelligent psionic undead roaming around? (Creepy.)

Githyanki questions

Interesting questions. I don't know about canon, and would like to hear other takes on these, but here are my own thoughts, as they relate to BoG'r

1) Most interesting question here. I think, though, it is more interesting if knightly orders are older than Vlaakith CLVII. However most extant orders, perhaps all of them, date from the last Lich Queen. So knightly orders serving the Queen are a long tradition, but Vlaakith CLVII took all pre-existing orders and molded them into what she wanted.

2) I'd say this tradition is as old as the first Lich Queen, that is when the Vlaakiths started using their followers to extend their own lives. Due to historical purges and re-writing by Vlaakith CLVII (and perhaps earlier ones too), the exact chronology is uncertain ,but was probably fairly late in the Vlaakith line, perhaps well above the 120th before they started attaining lichdom.

3) One of the many reasons Dark Sun is my second-favorite setting was the idea of unique undead. One of the prinipal players in my Incursiuon campaign (in addition to Fiirebringer Lahar), was a unique, non-corporeal undead githyanki telepath known as "Mist of The Mind", SPOILER ALERT!
