Ian leans Naruk against the statue. For a whole while, nothing seems to happen. Then, as most of the group probably already expected that nothing would change, Naruk's entire body begins to shake and twist.

He keeps like that for about ten long seconds, breathing hard and arhythmically. Then he simply drops on the floor.

Ian kneels and checks to make sure Naruk is still alive. Assuming that Naruk is still breathing, he will examin his current condition to see if he is still in danger of dying, or is simply asleep from fatigue.

As Ian kneels down to Naruk, he realizes that he isn't unconscious, but presses his eyes closed, and silently cries.

"Naruk? Are you okay? is there anything I can do to help?" Ian asks.

Naruk doesn't react to Ian's question.

The novice approaches the man on the ground, lays his fingers on a few spots of his body - neck, heart, forehead -, then nods. "He will be fine. The pain of the parasites was almost too much for him, and he needs time to recover from it. Also he might have seen something about himself that he had hidden carefully before. Such reactions are not entirely unusual."

Ian bows his head toward the Novice. "Thank you for your help. Is there any way in which we can repay this favor?"

OOC: Where IS everybody? I totally just gave people 2 days to say something before I hogged the conversation again.

[OOC: I wonder about the same thing...

Okay, voice call. Please everyone shout out if you're still around!

For those who don't answer, I'll assume they're not with us anymore. In case our group will still be big enough to go on (which I seriously hope!), I'll see if we can get new players into the game.]

In case noone else shows up: Are you two willing to go on with a minimized group? (I'd try get new players into the game, as said, but of course I can't promise anything)]

OOC: I would prefer to keep playing with this group, so I think we should give them some more time. They might just be a bit busy right now, and it would be a shame for almost two years of roleplaying to get flushed away. And we have such wonderful chemistry with this group!

But if worst comes to worst, sure.

OOC: See? Theres Ophelia (hope everything goes well with your back surgery, BTW) and Blackthornes doesn't live that far away from me, so I'll be sure to give him a good kick in the Rumpus if he doesn't post regularly.

That only leaves Loreveil (who went invisible) and Ohalian (who ran away). So at least their characters don't need an Act of DM to dissappear.

Guess that was a crappy Internet Explorer effect.

Well well, I'm glad I was wrong! Cool

Okay then, let's go on with the game Smiling ]

"Then, I wish to make a donation." Ian reaches for his moneypouch, and draws out a handfull of gold coins, and gives them to the novice. "And... thank you."

He then turns to the group. "Well then, I thnk its time we got on our way. This time, I don't care if Vecna himself is on the side of the road, trying to strike up a conversation, we keep going."

"Masked Gnoll, I'm going to need you to carry Naruk. I could use my telekenesis, but that takes concentration, and I'd hate to drop him just because I got distracted for a moment."

Edit: OOC: I forgot to mention exactly how much I gave. I gave 50 gp.

The group walks through the streets of Sigil for a long while. They have the common colourful variation of creatures and people they pass, many of them eyeing them suspiciously, curiously, hatefully or friendly. A whole lot of fantastic, unique and "especially for you, as I can see you are a special being"-offers are made to them as they pass through the wards, until they finally stand before Charrdh's place.

The streets have been cleaned by now, and while Charrdh's tavern is still full of guests - the voices coming from inside show it clearly -, it doesn't appear to be as packed as when the Xaositect incident happened.

Ian seems distracted for a moment before replying. "Hmm? Oh, Right. Sorry, lost in thought for a little bit there."

Ian then enters the Burned Torch.

OOC: Sorry, I've been intentionally slowing down my posting rate to let the people who are a bit busy right now have a chance to get their say.

On another note, from monday-saturday I'm on another of my little trips, so my posting might become a bit infrequent until I get back.

"I don't think that will be neccessary." Ian says. "After all, we don't have anything that needs doing right this moment, I just wanted to check in with him when we were all done with our little shopping spree. No need to interrupt his busines, especially with an important client."

After expressing his veiws, Ian will check on Naruk, to see if his condition has improved in the intervening time.

"As far as I could tell, Sheeram was spending a quite day at home, nothing to interrupt."
"Speaking of which, we should probably read as much of what she lent us as possible before we actually go to Baator, and we have some time to do that in. No reason not to take advantage of the situation."

Ophelia nods. "I think what Ian says makes sense. We should be as prepared as possible, besides, it's best if Naruk is feeling better when we enter Charrdh's private rooms. Not to forget, two members of our party have fled from combat... did they have any of the equipment we bought with Charrdh's money?"

Ian closes his eyes in concentration, slight twitches in his eyelid the only clue that he's replaying the events of the last few hours.

"No, but their disappearence is still costing us. We had to pay Ohalian to keep him from opposing us in the first place, but since he just seemed to stir up trouble anyway, good riddence to him."
"Loreveil, on the other hand, had the skull that A'kin gave us, Charsomething. Doesn't matter now, anyway. Oh, and she had that patch we got from the Illithid's robes. That looked like it could have been useful too, ah well."

Ian opens his eyes. "On the bright side, Ohalian still had that Illithid ring on his person, so he might just get his proper punishment for abandoning us.
Oh, and Ophelia? Any chance I could have my Medallion back now?"

Ian looks at her, head slightly cocked to the side. "I don't think we are on the same page. I'm talking about the Necklace of Adaptation I lent you back in the green mist before we met Sheeram."

OOC: Ian did lend Ophelia a Necklace of Adaptation before we used the bird in the mist, but I couldn't find a post saying I got it back. I figured now would be a good time to get in back IC.

Naruk moans slightly as the group discusses everything. Ophelia walks over to him, checking his vital signs. "He's fallen asleep", she explains. "I guess that's best for him."

Ian shruggs. "No thanks, I'm not much of a sitter. I think I'll take another look at the item of our investigation." He says, he then walks over to look in the orb again.

OOC: Before, You mentioned the possibility of recruiting one or two more people to replace our wayward Ohalian and Loreveil, that might no be a bad idea. Some new blood might just revitalize things.

A slight magical crackle is followed by the appearance of a lightblue outline of a humanoid just in front of the huge sphere in the Burned Torch tavern. The shape solidifies and turns into a man with a loud *POP*.

In front of the sphere stands a tiefling of obvious Baatezu descent, chattering his teeth and trying to keep himself warm.
He looks around a moment, disoriented, and then turns to Ian.
'Oy, c-cutter. This is Sigil, right?'

Ian, momentarily alarmed by the blue crackle, takes a step back just before the *pop*. He relaxes as soon as he sees that the man means no harm.

"Sure is, cutter." he says, turning back toward the orb to examine it in greater detail.
