Game: Blades of Git'riban : Primal State
Before another word can be exchanged, two figures appear out of the heavy rain. The first throws back his hood, and it is Gy-Nath. The second remains shrouded, but the others recognize the tall form of Jhank'kor.
"Excuse me, siblings, but we should move this party inside. My neighbors are likely to complain if we loiter out here, and I have no desire to get into another long discussion with them." He looks at the newcomer and exchanges glances with the others before turning to Vaar. "You have business here? Then by all means enter into my abode, and we will discuss what it is that you wish in a drier and more secure area."
When they have enterd and climbed up to Gy-Naths apartment, he fetches some towels for those who cannot remove their soaked outer garments.
The warlock with the capatain (Jhank'kor) scoffs when he sees Vaar's dragonrider markings. When she looks at him he smiles under his cowl. "Dragonrider, eh? Did the halfbreed find a greenskirt hungry enough to climb on top of him?" he sneers.
Without a single moment's pause, Gy-Nath backhands him. The cowl falls back and the others see that the warlock has a new facial tatoo in the form of a strange glyph of dark ink over one eye, covering up his scar. Jhank'kor looks at Gy-Nath with unbridled rage, and the two lock eyes. There is an almost palpable energy between the two. The scar on Jhank'kor's scalp starts to bleed, but when the blood contacts the tatoo, it evaporates away with a sputter and a hiss.
"My guests may be thirsty. There is some wine and a few things to eat in the kitchen, Jhank'kor. Go get them, will you? " Gy-Nath says in a calm, even voice. After a few seconds, Jhan'kor relaxes and turns to go into the other room. Once he has gone, Gy-Nath lets out a relieved sigh. The others notice a trickle of blood coming from his ears and nose.
"Now, please tell me why I have an unexpected visitor along with those whom I invited. Who are you, knight, and what do you wish of my fellow warrior Du'minh, for I oveheard you say he was the one you had come for."
First, thank you for your hospitality...,
I am Ii'Jyka'Vaar gi Dhar'Gi'Ghaaz, i am here to seek recompense, for your ally ...Du'minh killed without informing me, my former master, ex-lover and long time friend, Dhar'Gi'Ghaaz. I know he was a thrall (she nearly spits, but reminding herself she is inside a house, she refrains from it), and as far as my logic goes, i have right of kill for that. For this i seek recompense.
There is the archaic way of doing this, namely a duel to death, which i dont recommend, and there is the way of allowing me to accompany you all on the next great hunt and allowing me first kill of any Calamari, and participation in at least 2 other kills of similarity.
She then accepts a towel, and dries her armor and weapon, and undoes her heavy weather cloak and silently awaits any reaction.
Ya'shenn is disciplined enough not to crack a smile (or laugh out loud) at the warlock's incredibly rude remark, though she would like to. She's not surprised by Gy-Nath's reaction, for it is part of his duty to keep this group in line. I would do well to keep that in mind. Even so, the warlock goes up several notches in the psion's personal estimation.
She'd been more than a little concerned about Jhank'kor's mark, knowing more than most Githyanki about how they are made, and how virtually impossible they are to reverse. It's something she would like to ask the captain about, at some point, but she's definitely not going to right after that.
She takes a towel and busies herself for a while getting the worst of the rain off, then takes some time examining her crossbow for any sign of rain-related damage, being particularly concerned about the problem string. Ya'shenn doesn't actually load it, or point it at anyone, of course. Others might notice that she positions herself a good distance away from the newcomer, and that her body language fairly radiates controlled hostility.
The psion listens closely to the newcomer's story.
"Kith'rak Dhar'Gi'Ghaaz was a respectable warrior in his time, and I long wondered what became of him. How did you discover him to be enthralled, sister?" Ya'shenn keeps her tone of voice mild, even if her mind is not. She does not know this dragon rider, and it will tell her a great deal if the newcomer's story turns out to be inconsistent with what 'The Dreamer' had been.

Ar'dru gives a stiff bow to Gy-Nath when he arrives though he barely barely glances at Jhank'kor.
Gy-Nath seems to know how to keep his mutt in line he muses watching the exchange between the two before turning his attention back to the newcomer.
As he listens Ar'dru dries off his equipment and ensures that the rain hasn't penetrated the protective coatings of oil at the joints of his armour.
"We're making a better world. All of them, better worlds." - Anonomous Harmonium Officer
Gy-Nath listens intently, and nods when Vaar's recompense is mentioned. "It sound to me," Gy-Nath speaks with the calm confidence of a leader, "that we have taken more from you than we ourselves can truly comprehend, though your stoicism in the face of it is praiseworthy."
"As for your honor, I am sorry that we robbed you of this duty. I do not envy your position, though there are many in Git'riban about whom I can say the same. 'It seemed like a good idea at the time', that old refrain for all millitary blunders. We were acting on intel that was so fresh that immediate action seemed prudent."
"Your claim for recompense has some merit, and I would be fool not to welcome your blade neh?" He narrows his eyes and looks intently at Ii'Jyka'Vaar as he says this, "Alas there is still the not-insignificant matter of trust. I for one don't wholey trust anyone until I see them kill a ghaik. My instincts tell me to give you that chance, but only the blind go by instinct alone."
"The other unfortunate truth remains, that though you are all guests in my house and I your host we are really no more than that. I am not your kith'rak. I cannot speak for anyone other than myself, only offer advice that all may heed or disregard at thier whims."
Du’minh is visibly not pleased with the bargain, though he does not consciously seek to add more tension. With the situation at least partially defused he properly greets his better-known allies, and then responds to Ii’Jyka’Vaar.
“If Gy-Nath is approving of this arrangement I will not protest, but know that I am of a different mind. Dhar’Gi’Ghaaz may have served as a fine captain and a good friend, but it is a fact that he was enthralled. There is no such luxury as waiting for the right warrior to come along and make the kill, while the thrall goes about leaking information which ultimately is used to kill several other fine githyankis.”
“I was there, I did the only thing I could do. I feel no remorse for my actions, only pity that circumstances where as such.”
“However, I will not turn aside your offer of joining us in this hunt – I have also had my share of loss and do not seek to add more.”
Ar'dru shrugs "You appear to be capable enough cousin. I give my leave to your participation in our hunt until you feel that your honour is assuaged provided that you remember that you are our guest and do not jeopardise our mission. May you kill many Ghaik cousin."
"We're making a better world. All of them, better worlds." - Anonomous Harmonium Officer
Ya'shenn folds the towel and places it to one side. "I am vehemently opposed. Since approaching us, this newcomer has done nothing but offer me insult. While not oblivious to grief, I have no reason not to believe she will continue to do so. I will not be treated like a thrall or a graith captive."

"You shall not. It is your opinion that I value most in this situation. While we are far cry from a warband, I had hoped to assemble an effective strikeforce, and to that end incidently there are others who will be meeting us, in addition to our scouts."
"A stikefore can only be effective if the warriors' roles complement each other. Ya'shenn, you are our coordinator, as well one of the most knowlegable about many aspects of the ghaik. I will not bring anyone aboard on this upcoming raid who does not pass your scrutiny. Do not use your veto lightly, for each blade is a boon."
"Which brings up another point. I believe that among our group I have been in Sigil the longest perhaps, and I had been stationed at the Queen's Embassy many times in the past, so have gotten to know the Cage fairly well. We have an interesting problem that concerns the Dabus. If we attack the ghaik with too many warriors, Her Serenity might consider it a 'riot', and so soon after the illithids' own raid into Git'riban we run the risk of getting mazed. On the other hand, too few warriors and we all end up as meals for the foul ones' hunger."
To Ya'shenn alone: ~Look past your injured honor. I doubt ettiquete is even an afterthought for this one. Being a knight she likely had little use for it. I know many githyanki dislike the Knights of Vlaakith, for their gauntleted fists have crushed many in Her name that deserved it not. I have little prejudice, however, for they are still our siblings, and are likely more lost than most since the Queen's fall. Believe me though, I have the perfect blade to sever her spine, should she prove to be trouble.
Ya'shenn puts away her crossbow. She does fold her arms across her chest, though in most other regards, her body language appears to have relaxed to at least a small extent.
"Captain, I would like to know exactly how this newcomer was able to locate Du'minh here. First, she learned that Kith'rak Dhar’Gi’Ghaaz was enthralled -- a fact that, until very recently, was known to few indeed. Second, she came here, rather than to Du'minh's usual abode. While I am sure these things are possible, it gives me concern that she did these things within a relatively short timeframe. Our Enemy has had time in which to think and act, though it could not have been avoided. Hearing this woman's story more fully might help to ease my mind." She doesn't add that the dragon rider had been able to figure out that Du'minh was the one who had slain him, though that is part of her concern as well.
[Not sure if this is really convenient from a storyline perspective, but Ya'shenn would definitely be concerned about it.]

More detailed description, now that the lighting is better:
Ii'Jyka'Vaar's skin is olive/ grey in color and she looks muscular to a point of dryness, her skin bulging with muscles, and the skin tight around it, her muscles are more bulky then normally a Gith would have however.
Ii'Jyka'Vaar smiles when that question is asked, and she adresses Ya'shenn directly, by looking solely in her direction.
"Now that, my sister, was all to easy,
what a few Jink in the right hands at the right time can always fix. I saw your ally enter Dhar's shop, and followed when he did not exit the normal way, walked in, found noone in the shop, went into the storage and found Dhar dead. Thats how i summized that your Du'minh is the killer."
She pauses to let that simplicity sink in,
"As for the way i found my way to this establishment, again all to simple,
some hours of effort to identify your ally by my description, and then to find the big door with the little door, which he entered afterwards as seen by my informant, was all i needed to find out where he was staying, then when i decided this morning would be the fastest way to get into the possibility to confront him, i went straight to this house, finding you and your associating Duthka'Gith at the door was added bonus, so to speak."
Slight pause again
"Now for your last suspicion, it is a little more of gueswork on my current commanders part,
He surmised the possibility that Dhar'Gi'Ghaaz was an informant, but we did not yet have credible proof, finding his dead body, I brought it back to my commander, he had him examined and the mark on his wooden leg was found, thus confirming that he was indeed an informant for the Ghaik."
"I was about to confront him on our suspicions that day, when i was outpaced in that regard by you and your allies.."
"As to my reason for stating my 'demands' so bluntly, I am used to military 'diplomacy'.
(she says the word diplomacy with some sarcasm)
And in the military, we state, and do not expect talkback, and as you kept stalling/ evading my questions and asking more questions back, i did not deem any other approach needed. I did not have any intention of making you feel like a a thrall or a graith captive, I was merely stating my business as i am used to, military style.
If you feel that a duel to first blood would suffice your honor, i will be glad to oblige, and if you feel that i am more then a match for you in physical combat, then i will allow you, if you so wish, to call a substitue for the duel."
Edit done...
The psion watches Ii'Jyka'Vaar closely as she speaks.
[OOC: Sense Motive -- is Ii'Jyka'Vaar speaking truthfully?]
[Note for Burning Spear -- I believe the sharpener's mark was on his head, not his leg. Azure would know, tho'. Ya'shenn WOULD know the location of his mark, and I'm trying to make sure that your typing that wasn't a mistake.]

Ya'shenn's eyes narrow noticeably. "You are most gracious, sister, but I am unfortunately in a poor position to either make or accept such a challenge. My own training is in sounding and shaping minds, not breaking bodies, and it would be sin indeed to make a sister and a knight into a mind-slave."
She turns and bows to Gy-Nath, with an almost excessive formality. "Forgive me, kith'rak, but in the interest of preventing any further... discord, I must seek to remove myself from this company. I bless your efforts against our common Enemy, but my own patience is finite. I cannot and will not tolerate this, and I find it very difficult to believe that there would ever be an end to it."
[Sorry, Azure. Ya'shenn will not willingly associate with what is, in her opinion, an insufferably arrogant ass of a Githyanki knight who continually insults and belittles her, particularly not one who also outranks everyone in the room but Gy'Nath.]

I WILL EDIT/ CORRECT, is that better worded? Just to make sure, i would like that remark ignored, it was not an attemt to fuel the hostilities in any way! so please restate the post as if i had not said that.
ooc- Yes, it might have been, but not in this situation, tempers already flaring apparently, i actually intended for a smooth entry into this story, not anything remotely like this.

1) Yes, she is.
2) Dhar's mark was on the base of his stump leg. I.e. his leg was cut off, and at some later point the illithid kidnapped him and put a mark on his stump so that it would not be seen so long as he wore his wooden leg.

1) Technicly, as a knight, she outranks even Gy, or she would if she had Vlaakith to back her up.
2) 'Rank' is crap. The system has broken down, and there is neither reason nor incentive for anybody to follow orders they don't want to. Gy-Nath is the de facto leader only because the others respect him, no more, no less. Oh, and technicly, Jhank'kor 'outranks' all the other PCs, so as proof of what I just said, consider how an 'order' from him would go over.
"You may do and go where you wish, Ya'shenn, and I will not seek to constain you," Gy-Nath replies. "though our task will be significantly harder without you. For though I know the art of the mind, I am no great telepath, and can coordinate the others silently in only a limited fashion."
He looks back and forth between the two daughters of gith. They could scarcely be more different. Then Jhank'kor re-enters with two bottles and ceramic mugs for everyone. Gy watches the icy looks the warlock gets from Ar'dru and Du'minh as he pours for them.
Gy-Nath hangs his head despondantly and sighs, "Not until this moment did I believe the Queen's fall had broken the People. Never before now did I believe we could loose the Great War."
"Ehm, if i may add, i never had the thought of assuming leadership of this group in any way, if that is what your thinking, Ya'shenn, neither was I in any way trying to take over your role...."
"My rank within the army of the queen has no sway in a group like this, and i would not want it to, this group I came to solely for getting honor back for Kith'rak Dhar'Gi'Ghaaz and myself, my attempt at diplomacy might have not been to your satisfaction or understanding, but my motive was and still is to kill any Ghaik we come across, not to sow discort between fellow Gith..."
"It may even be a boon, my rank that is, in getting information and perhaps supplies from the 'army', for Ghaik hunting.."
“It pains me to see capable kin be so divided that they cannot join forces in striking out at the Great Enemy, but the Liberator knows I have been there myself,” says Du’minh with a glance at Jhank’kor.
He then slams his fist in the table and addresses every gith assembled.
“But I will not believe the People to be broken, and I will not believe the Great War to be lost. I am not one to normally be diplomatically inclined, but there is potential here to achieve a decisive victory which could motivate a trend of unity among our sundered bands. I implore you all to keep this perspective in mind and put aside your differences – a united front in crushing Illithid House may be one of the foundations we lay in rebuilding the empire of our people.”
“Sister Ya’shenn, will you reconsider staying if Ii’Jyka’Vaar can manage a formal apology and a general change of attitude? It is my hope, at least, that the lieutenant can be more mindful of her future choice of words and prove a capable ally on our hunts.”
"What, so this one can needle me endlessly throughout the raid, in the very house of our Enemy, knowing herself safe from a duel challenge? I find it impossible to believe this one will not offer me insult at every possible chance, for such is her nature, and I find it difficult indeed to believe this one will change. How can I be of any use to my brothers, if my mind is filled with wrath?
"I would not desert my brothers inside the House, when most needed, and I am constrained also from making full use of my powers against her. My honor cannot tolerate such insults as this one has hurled at me! Better that we should part now, rather than risk worse discord in battle."
A few moments after Ya'shenn turns her back on the others, obviously preparing to leave, the woman's voice adopts a strange, reflective tone. "I wonder, whether Sight foresaw this particular future. I wonder, also, what lies at the end of this branch..."
[At this point, Ya'shenn is so enraged that I'm really having trouble seeing how the situation could be salvaged. Not only did Vaar manage to simultaneously push all of Ya'shenn's very wrong buttons, she persisted in continuously stomping on them. If Ya'shenn were a warrior, or really any build suited for dueling other Githyanki, she'd be demanding to take Vaar's head off. Additionally, I, Zim, find it hard to believe that Vaar would not continue being a [rude word] inside Illithid House -- especially knowing that Ya'shenn can't simply turn around and kill her -- and the extreme acrimony that would result would not exactly be good for morale.]

Gy-Nath jumps up and gets in Ya'shenn's way. "If a duel will resolve this, then as your kith'rak I will be your proxy, Ya'shenn. May this knight strike deep and slay me with a single blow before I watch this endevor break down!"
"If this is not acceptable to you, then prepare to defend yourself Ya'shenn! Nobody is walking out of my house after making an enemy of another githyanki. Nobody." His eyes have an intensity that has only been seen in them when he speaks of killing illithids.
"If this is not acceptable to you, then prepare to defend yourself Ya'shenn! Nobody is walking out of my house after making an enemy of another githyanki. Nobody." His eyes have an intensity that has only been seen in them when he speaks of killing illithids.
The psion stares at Gy-Nath for a long moment. It is clear that physically interposing himself has managed to get her to listen, at least. This one would actually strike a knight, for my sake? The man astounds me!
She hears the threat, too, of course.
Once she recovers herself from the initial shock, Ya'shenn bows deeply. "You... do me much honor, captain. More than I deserve, I think." For a moment, even, logic wars against wrath in her mind. Her rage against the newcomer is overwhelming. At the same time, she does not really want to weaken the strength of this band.
...But she is convinced that this will not end if she lets it go now, and she does not want to be constantly fighting this other woman inside the House.
"...Kith'rak, if you are truly willing to draw your blade for my sake, I accept your offer. Afterward, if this woman is able to keep a civil tongue in her head, I shall do the same, and I will forget that she and I ever exchanged such words."

"Very well, and should the victory be mine, I shall be considered your Kith'rak, and all of you will obey my orders to the letter! Should this knight defeat me, I and I alone will submit to whatever she wants."
"Ii'Gyka'Vaar gi'Dhar'gi'Ghaaz, first blood it shall be! Choose your ground. This room is cramped, and in my own home I have the advantage. There is the street, but I also have access to the roof, if you prefer."
"So it shall be, but if you cannot keep from falling, it will not be my problem."
"Du'minh, my keys if you will." Gy-Nath takes the key ring, and goes over to 'Thing' and unlocks the padlock binding its chain to the balcony rail. He wraps the chain around his left arm, grasping it a couple of feet from the cage imprisoning the undead illithid head. Leaving the keys on a hook near the top of the stairs, he goes back into the kitchen and kicks a false pannel from the wall. Behind is an old ruined fireplace, with a ladder leading upward inside the chimney.

The Rish follows the duellists to the roof in a very sour mood, but remains silent for the time being.
“Regardless of how this goes we waste time and resources, while adding to the attention drawn. Spilled blood is but another act we cannot afford, when words should have been enough.”
When the duel proceeds, Du’minh studies both combatants carefully and takes mental notes of fighting styles, choice of weapon, and magical manifestations - particularly focused on the powerful aura from the weapon Ii’Jyka’Vaar has sheathed on her back.
Ar'dru follows along, eager to assess the combat abilities of both of these fighters.
Noticing Du'minhs displeased expression Ar'dru moves closer to him and murmers "Tis no waste of our time if this duel leaves us with a better understanding of those we are to fight alongside."
"We're making a better world. All of them, better worlds." - Anonomous Harmonium Officer
Ii'Jyka'Vaar also proceeds upstairs, following the Kith'rak Gy-Nath as she has no knowledge of the layout of the building.
She leaves the large Morningstar and her heavy rain cloak behind (as its nonmagical, and rain could tarnish it, the Morningstar that is.),
and moves up the stairs, people behind her will notice she has a grey/ whitish lock of hair on the back, in her neck, and her hair seems unnaturally short for any Gith to have.
The githyanki ascend to the roof. Rain pours down from a dark grey sky, drowning out the light of Sigilan peak. The hidden chimney opens onto a flat roof rimmed by a waist-high wall. Gy's private apartment was on the second floor, and there were two more foors above him, so there is a significant drop (not that it poses any danger to Ar'dru) to the hard street below.
Gy-Nath had stuffed 'Thing' into a burlap sack so that it would pose no danger on the climb up. He now lets the sack fall away, or it would if 'Thing' had not already been trying to chew its way out, and so keeps the sack in its mouth, munching slowly as its dead eyes turn towards Ii'Jyka'Vaar.
"First blood, but I'll not go easy on you." Gy-Nath walks toward the middle of the roof. There are several chimneys, some like the one the gith climbed are ruined, while smoke pours from others. Thus there is some cover to maneuver around.
Gy-Nath gets into a ready stance but does not yet draw his weapon. He swings the caged illithid head back and forth slowly.
"You have lured the tiger from the mountain Ii, and the guest may yet become the host, but I have my own strategems. Shall we begin?" He lets the chain slide through his hand and the undead illithid head drops to the roof.
As soon as Ii'Jyka'Vaar makes a move, a crossbow hovering just off the roof in the front of the building shoots at her!

B.S., roll initiative. If you do not beat Gy-Nath's initiative of 19, he has another surprize for Ii, and can make an AOO as you enter his threatened area. If you do roll higher than 19, he still gets an AOO, but you can attack before he makes his other attack.
[ooc- 1st attack i will use to try to move to him and hit
I will ready 1 attack (my 2nd as an attack to cut the chain, if he should use it against me)
As he tries to aoo, i try to hit the actual chain he is trying to aoo me with!
can i roll to hit on the chain? to clear a few things, it gets messy now, i can prepare an action before i started the melee, right, that was my attempt at the chain thing.]
She warily dodges out of the way for the bolts coming her way, but steadily walks to Gy-Nath, draws her sword while walking and hits him once...(if she can)
The crossbow trigger clicks, but the rain has caused the mechanism to fail, and the useless weapon just drops. Ii moves in on Gy, and he swings the illithid head at her. She intercepts the chain with her blade, severing it, and 'Thing' goes flying off, hitting a chimney with a wet thump.
Gy reaches for his blade and draws it with lightning speed, but instead of moving up to meet Ii's advance, he stands his ground and snarls. His eyes suddenly light up with an electric blue light. A beam shoots from his lighted eyes and touches the roof at Ii's feet as she advances. As soon as the beam touches the roof, an area about ten feet in diameter falls apart into dust and ash ...
[Yes, disintigrating the roof at Ii's feet. DC 20 reflex save (same as pit trap) or fall into the next apartment down. BTW, the implication is that could've been someone's torso]
The roof falls from below Ii'Jyka'Vaar's feat, but her magic slows her down, and she safely lands one story downwards...weapon in hand, in a ready to pounce stance..
ooc- reflex save for Disintegrated roof underneath me, however, i have ring of featherfalling...so no damage anyway
Ii'Jyka'Vaar falls through the disintigrated roof, but just floats down to the floor gently. There is a surprized githyanki lying on a couch, still plucking a tune on a Vinchik {A githyanki stringed instrument.} Gy-Nath appears at the hole, muttering curses about "Damn cheap crossbows."
The githyanki bard [that's right, folks] looks up at Gy, "Nath you berk! What the hell, man!?! Two weeks after the building meeting?!?"
"Training." the Kith'rak replies, "She bleeding, K'tch?"
"Not even a little bit."
"Oh well."
[Ii can D-door back up to attack, try to throw a dagger, whatever. I'll give you a chance to come up with something, and check back in 20 min or so, but Gy will jump down and attack if you don't post]
Ii'Jyka'Vaar will Dimension Door 2 foot above Gy'Nath, sword pointing down and legs slightly drawn up (so the sword will be slightly sticking out from her legs), hoping to at least scratch him with the 'blind' attempt of attack.
Kiai!, she shouts, as she basically jumps onto Gy'Nath from above
Even is the roll i am to make to attack.

Du’minh cocks an eyebrow as Gy-Nath disintegrates roofing, and starts muttering over the consequences this might have on security. Turning back to Ar’dru he musters some optimism and a smile.
“It is good to see you again, battlebrother. How was your off-world trip?”
OOC:
What manner of swords are the combatants wielding, in D&D terms? Was the immensely magical weapon the one that Ii drew?
ooc- well, in the BoGr ooc thread i posted a link with pics of how my weapon looks, albeit a normal version of it.
Total description:
The hilt and blade of this weapon are seemingly made from one single piece of black undefinable material, it seems to suck the light away slowly, but only very close to itself.
The weapon is heavy, however, it looks very smooth to handle, the weapon is not much bigger then a normal version of its kind, but looks just that more dense.
The handle of the weapon is overlayed with the stony grey hide of a Darkmantle, hold fastened with semi liquid godsteel.

They look neat, but that wasn't my question. What swords are they, in D&D terms? Longsword, greatsword, rapier, bastardsword?

ooc- mine: Nagamaki, from oriental adventures, a normally 2D4, crit on 20 slashing 2handed weapon, thats a basic one however.
[Not bad.]
Ii appears about a foot over Gy-Nath's head. He spins around to meet her and his blade rings off her armor, drawing sparks. [BTW, I forgot Gy's weapon's magic +'s  ] The act does nothing to slow Ii's gravity-fed momentum, however, and she lands full on Gy-Nath. Both tumble down into the hole.

[For Ii'Jyka'Vaar only.]
"Back so soon?" K'tch smiles as the pair of combatants lands on the floor. Gy and Ii look at each other. He has a deep cut on his shoulder from her blade, but there is a trickle of blood at the side-seam of her armor where he caught her in mid-air.
"Well, Ii. It looks to be simultaneous, but your strike is deeper. Would you call it a draw, or will you claim the deeper cut wins?"
"She landed on top, and yea, I'd say deeper cut wins." K'tch interrupts, still plucking away at his strings.

I will go by the judgement of our mutual witness, however...., the boon I will ask is small..., as compared to what I could ask,
She gets up, and extends a hand to Gy'Nath, resheathing her weapon meanwhile..
when Gy'Nath has stood up, she takes out a necklace of beads, and starts murmuring, she lays a hand on Gy' and heals him.
ooc- Ignore the first roll )))
"Well, my guests may be uninvited, but I'll not be a lousy host. There's some beverage sitting on the table right over there, help yourselves. Hey, what'd you bring more friends up there?" K'tch leans off the couch to look up through the hole, "C'mon down and join the party, we've got the results from today's match. There's a stairwell over in the corner that leads down, if you want an easier route than your friends."
Before the others can join them, K'tch turns to Gy-Nath, "Now, you ARE going to pay to fix my roof, and I AM going to sleep in your flat 'till you do, right?"
"Sure thing K'tch."
***
When the others have joined them, Gy-Nath kneals before Ii and bows his head. "Victory is yours today, Ii'Jyka'Vaar gi Dhar'gi'Ghaaz. What would you have of me?"
Looking at each and every other 'party member', she weighs her options carefully... she then says;
"You will lead the raid as you planned, while I shall have the 'honor' of taking point so that I might have first crack at any ghaik. As a full member of this warband now, you will fill me in on what is going on here...
Then she ads carefully:"And we, you and me, sister Ya'shenn, start anew with our relations."
Gy-Nath stands and bows again. "Accepted." he looks to Ya'shenn.
Ya'shenn watches the progress of the duel closely, though she has to shield her eyes from the worst of the rain to do so. Initially, the woman's posture is stiff with anger, but she actually smiles briefly early on, as she watches just how the kith'rak fights. Apparently, Gy-Nath is a very clever opponent.
After last night, Captain, I could have advised you against relying on a crossbow in these conditions.
She is as surprised as most of the others probably are when the floor disintegrates under the newcomer's feet. When the bard -- ugh! Must you live downstairs from a bard, captain? -- calls up to the group, she looks down into the newly-blasted hole, but elects to take the stairwell, instead.
The psion's eyes note the presence of blood on both duelists, but she says nothing of it. Indeed, she has no way to tell which blow landed first, in any case. Unfortunately, she feels another flash of anger when she hears the kith'rak's words, but Ya'shenn knows well that victory had not been assured when this matter had been agreed to.
Ya'shenn bows to the duelists. While one cannot really say that her expression or posture seem happy, they are definitely composed.
"I believe this request to be both gracious and suitable. Know that I willingly accede to it."

In more pleasant circumstances, Ya'shenn might respond more positively to the gesture. As it stands though, the rain -- and especially the questionable newcomer -- are not exactly doing wonders for the psion's mood. She meets Du'minh's eyes directly for a moment, but her gaze moves quickly to the dragon rider.
I will not be baited.
Ya'shenn takes in a breath slowly and releases it before speaking. "You come bringing many demands, but you will not answer reasonable questions. Your words give us little reason to trust you, and every reason not to. We do not know you. Why should we invite one who openly calls for recompense within walls, when the one she seeks is unarmored?"
On a purely mental level, Ya'shenn sighs and gives up a tiny amount of her hoarded mind-strength to send a silent communication to the Rish.
~She seeks recompense for the sharpener! Possibly Will's creature...?
Then, somewhat breaking the dire mental tone, she sneezes. While the Astral has many hazards, rain is not normally one of them, and the psion is already beginning to feel chilled. And wet. This does not help her mood either.
