Since I'm already addicted to it, why couldn't it infest the Hive?

The factions you left out are not amused.

...besides the Free League, since they don't want anyone to think they're a faction.

I just solved it three different ways!

First of all, I solved it like a Guvner would, which is to take advantage of the loophole in the rules that doesn't explicitly forbid me from moving around the faction symbols that are already there. This made it very simple to arrive at a solution:

I also solved it the Bleaker way, reveling in the pointlessness and emptiness of the boxes:

Secondly, I solved it the Xaositect genius solution!

Rip,

An Anarchist recently threw a brick through my window with a letter attached, which stated that the first solution to the puzzle is invalid as some of the smaller internal 3x3 squares have more than one occurrence of the same faction symbol. According to their screed, this represents "the utter, complete and fallacious mockery that is present in the 'rules' and 'laws' established and promulgated by the cheating usurpers who label themselves as the Fraternity of Order". Please respond to this statement while I still have intact windowpanes.

Many thanks,
- eldersphinx

Actually, I had somehow forgotten about the "only one in each 3x3 square" rule. I've never solved this sort of puzzle before, and I got distracted by the pretty pattern that ignoring the rule made.

I tried to do it the way a Guvner would really do it, alphabetizing the first row and first 3x3 square and making sure there was a pattern throughout while still following the rules. I think this was probably harder than just straightforwardly solving the puzzle, something I still haven't tried yet.

That's the Harmonium way to do it, because it's the straightforward way, doing what you're supposed to do. :^)

(By the way, my solution may be found at http://earl.of.sandwich.net/FactionSudokuSolved.jpg , for those who just want to see it worked out. )

Rip,

I KNEW there was a reason I wanted you to see it!

You forgot the Dusties' viewpoint on the game . . . "the dead don't play games."
