Re: the Shadoloth
Should we remove this one?...I just added it cause I was searchin' the net for descriptions for all the damn 'loths I kept getting assigned and assumed it was some new one from one of the 3.x Monster Manuals or Fiend Folio or somesuch...

There is no 'Shadoloth'.

There's a 'Skerroloth' that was created in 3.x in the Fiend Folio (think demoted mezzoloths used as cannon fodder, something even less prestigious than being demoted to canoloth)

There is no Shadoloth in any WotC products, but there is on enworld...Read the entry in the EotP, Rip makes note of its unofficial status and fan creation and that's the crux of my inquiry- Should it be included as it is fan created or should it be deleted because of that?...I'd generally say it should be deleted since if we include fan created monsters, sites, powers, etc., we'll lose the original intent of the EotP...I just wanted to toss it out there and not act unilatterally...

Okay, I've taken in everybody's opinion, and after pouring over all the responses (which after a while just started to blur, if you know what I mean) and decided that the spirit of the EotP deems that Shadoloth be removed from the rolls...No, no, I'm gonna do it, I mean it...Unless someone gives me a reason not to (and it tips the scales of justice in the Shadoloth's favor), I'm gonna do it, really...I'm gonna do it...right...now...anybody gonna try to heroically save the Shadoloth?...Okay, here I go...What was that; oh, nothing...Okay, here I go...Really....................................................................................

No. Where'd you get that from? The Prefect of the Order is a human woman named Increase VII. The only thing I insinuated about Aram Oakwright is that he might retain some of his cousin Emma's ties to Timmon d'Arlen.

Pass your curser over the little underscore at the end of this line in the entry for Order of the Planes Militant:

Sectol: Prefect Increase VII (Female human/cleric 15/Order of the Planes-Militant/LG)

When I do it, I get an interesting little surprise that engendered the querry...

Clueless, Your looking in the right place, at least in the place I meant...

Also, just pushed the link for "Death's Gorge" in the "Blood War" entry and got DG and three other entries with Death in them, none of which had gorge amongst their keywords...

Oh! That's because I used the Fated entry as a template, to make it quicker to write in the same format. It's a cut and past error. I'll go fix it.

That's ok.
The way the crosslinking works is it actually takes you to a search result based on the linked terms. So it's getting multiple pings off of 'death'. I need to get the prioritizing into place to make sure it works right, and it may be having an interaction with the apostrophe. Little kinks to work out over time. Eye-wink

The Celtic Pantheon as currently portrayed on the EotP does not seem consistent with that presented in any AD&D/D&D books I'm familiar with...I think it deserves a re-write...Thoughts?...

Easy answer I think: We're trying to follow what's in the products - not real life. If someone's looking up deities on the EotP wanting them to be accurate to 'real life' as opposed to accurate to Planescape then they've missed the point.

Anyone know which product the pantheon might be found in? It's possible it's not actually in *any* resource - in which case that might be a good note to make in the entry. Something along the lines of "It's not actually written down anywhere, but if it were this is likely what it would be."

Ya, I erased the old info above Rip's new list...On the subject of pantheons, it would be nice to have more info on the lists in the entries, something similar to the entry for the Seldarine (or at least what the various listed powers are the gods of)...Wow, I've been doin' too much encyclopediaization, I keep wanting to put brackets around words which have entries in the EotP...

Wasn't my intro. I didn't write it.

As for more information, I assume eventually there will be individual articles on the various gods. But I'm not going to make them right now.

So, we're at 1000 entries on the EotP...Here is a list of those entries that have no description yet...If you can write something significant about them, give it a rip...There are 68 of 'em...That's a 93% completion score; pretty decent...

Can 'baatezu nobles' be folded into 'Lords of the Nine' and 'Dark Eight' (as keywords) or are there other nobles of Baator...Or are bn's a class or type of baatezu?...

Does the write-up for Vecna seem correct to everyone?...It seems to have a bit too much specific information about his origins from what canon sources I've seen (Vecna Lives!, write-ups of his Hand & Eye from various sources)...I haven't read Die Vecna Die so maybe there's info there I don't know about...I started to edit it as it stated that he was Oeridian (which I think is not canon), but then read a bit farther and decided to post here...Thoughts?...

I don't think so. The Seelie Court is one faerie court, but not the only one. Keeping Faerie in a seperate article allowed me to talk about some of the others, and about the adventure in Well of Worlds that deals with a perceived Faerie. Those aren't so appropriate in the Seelie Court entry.

Okay, then I'd recommend adding some sort of Faerie blurb to the entry of 'Seelie Court.'...That way the Seelie Court is described as being part of Faerie (a sub-section so to speak)...Also, the plane references don't seem to jibe between the two entries...

You must mean issue #216's "April Fool's Faxions" article. Those were supposed to all be factions "that have died out over the years."

They included:

The Beautification League (The Decorators)
The Free Flora Collective (The Veggies, the Tree League)
The Herbivorous Assembly (The Vegetarians)
The Wizards of the Black Teddy (The Babes)
The Apathetic Alliance (The Apathetics)

That issue also had such classic song parodies as I am a Vrock (to the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's I am a Rock). "I am a vrock! I'm a tanaaaaar'ri!'

Oh! I didn't actually read the article. I was confusing it with the entires on Titania and the Queen of Air and Darkness that I wrote; I didn't realize someone had added a new article based on Fey Feature.

Yes, I actually think that should be merged with Faerie.

An altroloth is a yugoloth that's been altered by night hags in exchange for service. Not every yugoloth archfiend is an altroloth, so I used a broader catagory.

Oh, I didn't necessarily mean to link the two questions...Meaning I didn't actually know what an Altroloth was (Shemmie mentioned that Charon was one in that entity's entry so I bracketed it) and thought it was amusing that 'Shemeska the Marauder' came up when I hit the 'Yugoloth Lord' link in the 'Archfiend' entry...Also, it means that there should probably be an entry for 'Yugoloth Lord' or lord added to the appropriate yugoloths that that term applies to, although, if using the latter, folks may be mislead by 'Shemeska' coming up (unless, of course, she IS a Yugoloth Lord, whatever that is)...

Shemeshka's a yugoloth Golden Lord, so she technically fits.

Anyway, try the search again. Now you get Bubonix, Anthraxus, Charon, and the Oinoloth as well.

Ok testing something - I just hooked the "Get emails" option for the entire site into the "get emails" value that you've selected in your profile. If you don't ask for emails - you get PMs (for the moment).

I'm still working on revamping a number of the features of the site to bea easier to work with - the notification system (including popups etc) is one of them.

How much information is desired for the entries, i.e., are we worried about spoilers? I looked at the Primus entry and there's no mention of Tenebrous or of that Primus now manifesting as a vestige that can be channeled by binders.
Can we edit at will, or are there people we need to check with before we start adding information?
Edit: I now see there's no way for us to edit indiscriminately. So how do we contribute information?

It's pretty much edit at will. Go for it. Smiling

As for depth - this was originally put together so someone who doesn't have access to the books can get a passing familarity with the setting. We're certainly not expecting someone to cut and paste in a book or anything, but if it's important to the entry to at least mention something - then do so. I don't think we're much worried about spoilers - though if you consider it a spoiler it might be worth it to give a warning in the line before the spoiler.

What do we do with an entry for which we don't have any information? I received notice to create an entry for a positive energy elemental. I don't remember such a creature from any of the books, and a quick search of the web only brought up homebrew stats for such a creature on EN World.

Just hit the "Give Entry to Others" button at that point - then it will get passed along to the Abandoned Entries page and someone else can look through it for anything they may want to add. Of course techncially the entry is open for editting by anyone right now, it's just that you've been requested to take a look at it.

Of course, you could also fill it in with something along the lines of "There are no known elementals of this kind, see zegya " Eye-wink
