Dream Magic at the Wall of Color

Dream Magic at the Wall of Color

If a caster is at the wall of color for the appropriate Prime world when casting any spell designed to affect the dreams of a target on the prime, his saves are affected by a circumstance bonus of +2.

If the caster is able to locate the actual dreams of their target apon the Prime then his saves are affected by a circumstance bonus of +4.

Bond Dreams
Enchantment [Mind affecting] [Dream]
Level: Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V,S,M
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Duration: 1 day / caster level
Range: Touch
Target: Two willing creatures
Save: none (willing)
Spell Resistance: No

Two willing targets are bound to dream together regardless of the distance or planes between them. The dreams are routed through portals or color pools to arrive together. Whenever both subjects are dreaming they may freely communicate (and socialize) in their dreams. They may change the contents of the dreamscape as they wish. If the two dreamers disagree on the contents of their dreams, they may make a contested Will save, whoever reaches a higher save wins. The dream lasts for as long as either sleeps until they wake. Targets must be capable of dreaming.

If this spell is cast on a subjects whose dreams are accessible at the Wall of Color, the targets do *not* have to be willing, nor do they have to be present for the spell to take affect.
Material Component: a length of silk

Dream Trap
Enchantment [Mind affecting] [Dream]
Level: Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V,S,M
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Unlimited
Target: One willing creature
Duration: 1 day/caster level
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

A target becomes trapped in his dreams for the length of the spell’s duration. The target’s body is maintained, and does not starve or need water as his sleeping metabolism is dropped far below his normal requirements. However his eyeballs will continue to twitch as he is in constant state of REM sleep. He is allowed a second will save at the end of a week to awaken from the spell, and one thereafter at a +1 cumulative bonus to the saving roll.

The caster will go into a trance to deliver the spell. If the target is awake at the casting of the spell, the caster may choose to end the spell (awakening), or stay in trance. If the caster remains in trance until the target goes to sleep then the spell may be continued at that point. The target must be capable of dreaming. Once the target fails their save the caster may wake up allowing the dream trap to continue its effects.

Repetitive Dream
Enchantment [Mind affecting] [Dream]
Level: Sor/Wiz 6
Components: V,S,M
Target: one creature
Duration: 1 day / caster level

As nightmare, however the caster does not need to remain in trance once the target fails his save. The target has the same dream, every night thereafter for the duration of the spell.

The caster will go into a trance to deliver the spell. If the target is awake at the casting of the spell, the caster may choose to end the spell (awakening), or stay in trance. If the caster remains in trance until the target goes to sleep then the spell may be continued at that point. The target must be capable of dreaming. Once the target fails the

Waking Nightmare

Enchantment [Mind affecting] [Dream]
Level: Sor/Wiz 5
Components: V,S,M
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Unlimites
Target: one creature
Duration: 1 hour/caster level
Save: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

A target on awakening becomes affected by hypnopompia. In essence, while he is awake and able to move about normally, he is also constantly seeing a double image of his dreams. These cannot harm him, but are a considerable distraction (especially considering as the subject becomes more disoriented the longer it lasts, the more he begins to nightmare). This produces a -1 cumulative modifier to all rolls for each hour the spell lasts, to a maximum of -5.

The caster will go into a trance to deliver the spell. If the target is awake at the casting of the spell, the caster may choose to end the spell (awakening), or stay in trance. If the caster remains in trance until the target goes to sleep then the spell may be continued at that point. The target must be capable of dreaming. Once the target fails their save the caster may wake up allowing the waking nightmare to continue its effects.

Other Spells

The spells dream and nightmare in the PHB under this system have the subtag [Dream] added to them as well.

Not 'a' Wall of Color, 'the' Wall of Color. The Wall of Color is a site on the ethereal, the bridge between the dreams of Prime worlds and the Ethereal. You can go to the wall, look at it, and see the images produced by dreaming minds of the particular prime world associated with that section of the Wall.
