if there is stuff from the WotC boards I want to archive here, but i'm not the author, what should i do?

Generally yes, though if the author objects it's polite to take the stuff down. If you get the author's permission there's no question about it at all. Why do you ask?

Sorry for the late reply. In 2005 I archived a huge chunk of the Deities and Planes board. I figured all that work should end up somewhere people can see it.
I can try to get author's permission if they've kept their WotC accounts...
Isn't it ok to repost the content here, clearly note who the author is, and provide a link to the source?
