General brainstorming about locations you'd want to create.
For example, I'd love for us to work together on a new planar metropolis at some point.

Rip! *GLEE*
Oh - somewhere around here I had notes from a brainstorm session at Gencon a long long long time ago about a module idea featuring a climb up the Spire - and the various cities you would find along the way living without magic, perched on the cliff of the Spire...
Clueless, that sounds awesome.
Oh, yeah, definitely need to ask Rip to join the fun.

I love the idea of magicless spire cliff cities.
EDIT: Also, can we feature Surcease? I loved that post. Loved loved loooooooved that post.
I *know*! I hate that the idea never really got past the germination stage - so - please - someone take this brainchild and run with it. Send it to college with a full module - *something*.
Surcease?

Post-Faction War Athar would be all over that. So would cultures that seriously hate magic for some reason.

Oh, yeah, that was an incredible read. Would be a great inclusion.

Since there's talk of including the various planar renovations in the publication, it would make sense to include a location or three from the plane being focused on that quarter.
Snippet of an idea for a burg: A town called "The End." The town actually moves around a lot; most likely to be found either in the hinterlands of Pandemonium or the hinterlands of the Grey Waste. Most of the inhabitants of the town believe that either they're doomed, you're doomed, or the entire Multiverse is doomed. Most of them are real "The End is Near!" types.

I like the idea of finding it in the hinterlands of the Wastes. Perhaps it was an old Gate Town that had too much conviction and zest to their belief of doom that they couldn't fully be accepted by the plane?
As for Planar Metropolises, I wouldn't mind seeing the Marketplace Eternal getting fleshed out. Where it is mentioned, it's supposed to be a great big trade centre of the Outlands, the divine realm of Waukeen, Shinare, Sera, and Zilchus -- no less than four trade powers.
Unfortunately, as it's really only mentioned in On Hallowed Ground, I feel like it slips by into insignificance and obscurity, never to be used.
Not that I think the Marketplace Eternal should be a METROPOLIS, I just feel like it ought to be a seriously solid option on places to shop in the Outlands.
There's a Marketplace Entry on the wiki - I'm not sure how it compares with the Hallowed Ground mention.
This is probably the topic I'm most enthusiastic about contributing towards (though I may not be able to leap in for the first issue) - I was actually just revisiting my planar locations ideas from the KQ forums and there are a couple that I feel good enough about to perhaps do something with. Sci, you've certainly got more than a few on there that deserve some additional attention.
Yeah, I'm not sure how the locations on that thread are going to play out. Dan I know plans on using them, which only makes sense.
After we see which ones make it into the final book, I do want to contact authors of some of them and flesh out our own as well.
We could also start brainstorming locations here, see which ones appeal to people. Similar idea, just put up a few paragraphs, and overtime we can pull from the thread and develop them.
I'll probably put something in here in a bit.

The Probability Tree
"I began climbing because I was tempted to bite into an apple of discord. But then I turned my attention to pilgrim ants who veered from their sacrosanct path, taking a wrong turn from sun lightened wood to the tan muscle of my calf.
After returning them toward the hallowed ground they were seeking, I looked around to find myself upon the splayed branches of an elderly oak. After a moment of deliberation, I continued to climb.
Three days later, I had a conversation with my first boyfriend. Yeah, that one, the one who'd been taken by the fascist baatezu.
A week later I had dinner in a village that worshiped Anubis. They looked at me like I was addlecoved when I got into the whole "Guardian of Dead Gods" bit.
Heh, this is why I love climbing the Tree. Let's me see what life would be like with different rolls of the die."

Oh, I also think a good location doesn't have to start with a plane of origin. A really good idea that would work in various cosmologies could have a section or even a sidebar where its place in different settings would be.

That's great - I wasn't sure if that was a cattle call for the eventual gazetteer pitches or what, but just peeked at some of the successful pitch threads and was happy to see several of them mining the brainstorms. I've had to more-or-less step away from that project on account of time, but am really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
I seem to be writing too many things at the same time right now, but should have some location sketches in the next several days.
The End and Marketplace Eternal seem like great ideas to develop BTW.

Feel free to use Surcease and Dolor.
Maybe Log X could go in as a regular column-like feature, one long or two short entries per issue. You can use any of mine, and feel free to edit, though you'll probably want to skip Equestria for copyright purposes. Make sure to get permission from any of the other authors before using a contribution of theirs.
I like the idea of featuring a prime world, perhaps we could open with an article about giving the Prime more importance in the Cosmic Game - it is, after all, a major source of souls/heroes/artifacts and even new gods.

If Surcease and Dolor are already mostly writ - can the author (or whoever is going to proxy for the author) drop it in the editorial queue so we can get people started on the edit process? Strike while the iron is hot and all...
That's me. What do I need to do to do that?
Ok, let me know if you run into any troubles with this. On the right hand side of the screen you should see a link under the Fanzine links for submitting an article. Hit that up, load up the text you want to work with.
You'll see a lot of other options there as well (like what name we should credit, what art you would like to see with your work, etc etc). Let me know if any of that doesn't work right or needs more documentation to make it easier to work with. There's just a lot of pieces that need to be pulled together for a 'zine article.
Then - when you're ready to put it to the editors for work - change the workflow to submit and save it. That should move it right into the editors queue, send out a bunch of email to the editors to get started on it, etc. You'll also get pinged whenever there's a change in status for the article.
Sidenote - for anyone who wants to join as an editor - look at this page for details:
