Cross Purposes OOC
Yet another post that makes me laugh out loud.

Thought you might get a kick out of that.
I just realized that Grisev's wording here might be confusing. He's saying "You live in a simple manner (in other words, not with a lot of luxuries) by your own choice," not "you're alive by your own choice."

Nim is going to be perfectly content to sit back and play possum. It's her usual tactic when things start getting rough. Not that she won't fight, just that when she's in the middle of a group of people who all look rather capable in combat, she's more than happy to hold her magic in reserve until it really matters. Like, say, if a spellcaster shows up.
I will say though, I'm fighting the urge to have her rise up from the ground, changing shape into some sort of mid-level demon and start improvising - in Abyssal, mind you - some sort of litany praising the Demogorgon and how all who don't join with him right now will be forever damned. I'm guessing that wouldn't exactly be prudent right now however. And I can't be sure the rest of the party wouldn't decide to turn on her, just to be on the safe side. But the temptation is there.
I have the best players ever.

I would kick off this whole game by casting a spell, either command or colour spray
Josidiah would kick off this whole game by shivving and electrocuting the bastard holding his sword
lol, trying to make that just a bit easier... , though dc 13 is crappily low imo..
If Lyei is trying to keep his status as a cleric secret, casting a Cleric-only spell such as Command in a party full of spellcasters with ranks in Spellcraft may not help him with regard to this goal. Just sayin'.

Bluff roll then?, besides, I can always say that I have done research , and thus can cast such spells as arcane versions, not having some items needed for use makes this quite believable...
Edit, regardless of my roll, I will stick by what I say above, even if a 10 isn't the best result...
He could try that, but at the very least it would likely make others suspicious about him possibly being a cleric.

whatever , I doubt they would know exactly every spell and spell casting form in the universe, so him saying he researched enchantment/ charm spells normally out of bounds for mages is not impossible... and I am sticking to that one.
Just so you're aware Zimmy, I'm going to hold off on doing anything until I see how the situation with the sword resolves itself.
No problem. Just giving Tim and Cadence some time to post.

I have one more exam in 11 hours, so I'll post after that!

But feel free to move the action along, Sphinx will only engage in telepathic stuff with the priestess and the two dominated beings, he wont do anything combat related next round besides stay out of the way.

Frack me, a nat 20
Have been caught up in school/ post exam celebrations, will post sometime today

What holy symbol?, I (my char.) is not using any holy symbol, so it ain't mine honey
Besides, should that not be Know. Religion?
I was referring to Grisev's holy symbol which Sphinx is vicariously observing. As for the check, it could be Relgion, but it may be Planes as well if it is a god common to the Planes. I'll leave that to Zimmy to decide.

Ah..kk
Knowledge: Religion. Since this isn't obscure knowledge, and planars are generally cosmopolitan, make a straight Intelligence check.

kk, the modifier is the same - +4 intelligence, so we can use the roll that I already made

Is anyone else posting, or should I move things along? Wicke, is Nim still playing possum?

Virash is gonna keep holding off until something provokes action. Jos and Lyei seem to have the situation under control.
Nim is still playing possum. No need to get involved in this unless a good opportunity presents itself to her. Or she gets bored.
You don't want Nim to get bored. Bad things happen when Nim gets bored. Bad, exciting things.
*cannot wait until Nim gets bored*
*If you like, I'll poke the possum with a stick perhaps?* lol
How much do you guys want to get into a combat? ^_^
(Better hurry up Zimmy...)
Not yet, really, there is no need for it yet
I suggest letting the guy move past without any of "our"belongings, then make him move off...
I've had a real life thing come up that may keep me very busy for the next few days (I'm not sure how long yet). I'll get a new post out as soon as I can, though.

Thanks for the heads up anyway
Euhm?
Just another friendly nudge.
Back, kinda. Apologies for the long delay; my Real Life is very hectic right now. This shouldn't be a pattern. I should be able to get a new post out soon.

Ok
While I had used the term 'grimdark' early on when describing the game, it's actually come out even more so than I had anticipated. It's nice to have Nim around, as she helps make the game less grim and less dark. Also more funny.

Sometimes you need the levity.
For what it's worth, I'm not purposely aiming to play her as comic relief. She's somebody who probably grasps the seriousness of the situations she finds herself in but is still inclined to derive as much enjoyment as she can from them. And she does it with enthusiasm and commitment. She's also hopelessly romantic and idealistic.
Sometimes I take humor seriously. Sometimes I take seriousness humorously.
Somebody better do something soon, otherwise Nim will. No joke.
Fair warning: When I get back from dinner, something do Nim will.
[gets some popcorn]
To recap for everyone: The basement below is, at least according to Grisev's directions, where the party's gear ended up. Unfortunately, at the moment that room is also occupied.

I think everybody just wants to see what Nim will do...
Edit: Strange things are afoot at the Circle-K
I am just not trying to bombard the thread with my posts, so I was hanging back a bit until 2-3 have posted
Let me know if I start stepping over any lines Zim.
So... how exactly does that Sense Motive check work, since Zim is TRYING to convey information? Do I have to beat her Bluff check, or does she succeed, or do I beat the DC 15 for a simple message, or...?
Grisev's patron would approve.
