Also: If I'm reading Dominate Person correctly, I don't think you can issue telepathic commands without first establishing an (unwilling) mindlink. I'm OK with your post (and think it's hilarious), but you'll need to spend the extra power points.

If you and the subject have a common language, you can generally force the subject to perform as you desire, within the limits of its abilities. If no common language exists, you can communicate only basic commands, such as “Come here,” “Go there,” “Fight,” and “Stand still.” You know what the subject is experiencing, but you do not receive direct sensory input from it, nor can it communicate with you telepathically.
The psionic power is as the wizard spell with the exception of the Augmentations noted in the Psionic power description.
I read it as: 'the telepathic link is made as a result of the spell, with which you can control the actions of a humanoid.
I can see, though, how it could be interpreted as 'a telepathic link will allow you to control the actions of a humanoid with this spell.'
Wizards dominate creatures without the necessity of mindlink - which is what inclined me towards the first interpretation. I'm fine with it either way, but just my thoughts.

current situation not resolved until dm says so? crap
Heh. He wouldn't be too quick to release prisoners immediately following combat. The whole "getting attacked by one's own henchman" thing tends to do no wonders for the attitude of an NPC.

He has just geased me, why would I work against him, even so, he seems to be a kisser of Gith, so he should give leeway...
Edit: Enough to get it moving again, cheers
I'd actually prefer that this not break down into a brawl (Grisev would much rather send the PCs off on a quest than do anything worse to them). He wouldn't let that remark go without any punishment, however, under the circumstances.
Definitely a case of 'the worst possible thing to say at the worst possible time.' From his POV, Nim just direly insulted him in front of his own men.

ouch
I actually hemmed and hawed for a while over "So would he put Rogald in the dead-book on the spot?" Grisev would have, in typical circumstances, but he wanted to find out more about this supposed plot against him. There's always Speak with Dead, but you usually get better results out of a living berk (Grisev might argue that questioning the living berk followed up by Speak with Dead to confirm the answers would be ideal).

Lol, he (you really, zimmy) is a nasty piece of work then
I figured the guy was better dead than alive and needling him just a bit might ensure that. He reacted a bit more intensely than I had intended, as you noted. No matter, as I'm sure Nim has experienced as bad or worse than whatever Grisev will throw at her.
Edit: And Nim makes her rolls like a champ.
Testing dice rolls as I'm still trying to get a handle on them.
Edit: So apparently I can't have different comments for each of the different rolls. They each get the same note.
Grisev is actually one of the BBEGs of the campaign. I've tried to make clear from the start that he's a nasty piece of work.

Yeayea, we will get there soon , when we gain some levels, we will be bad to
Angry, distracted people make worse decisions than people who are focused. Right now: 1) he's worried about a plot against him and 2) he's pissed off about losing face in front of his men. Not too bad. We haven't even made it out of jail yet! If Nim manages to make it out alive, I'd call the whole thing a solid win!
Just wait till the PCs figure out what Grisev is. *chuckle* (I've actually been tossing out clues left and right, but I'm not sure if anyone caught them.)

he claims by his attire to be a Illithid headhunter... one who seems to like Gith, right?, but what else he is apart from that, hmmz...
Okay, waiting on Wicke. (I'm guessing, with that Bluff check, that Nim intends to fake being affected by some horrible spell or other, but I'm very curious to see which spell effect she goes for, if that's the case.)

Ahw, sweet little Nim, lol..
Sweet? HA! She's played "Pathetic Weakling Has Learned Their Lesson" before and knows how to sell it.
Poor, poor Grisev. First the henchman he came to rescue tried to put him in the dead-book, and now he can't even get what should be an easy spell to work right.

No bluff rolls for him? (Grisev)
As far as Nim is concerned, Grisev's bad day has only just begun.
I do wish I had caught what that spell was. No matter. Nim has her story and she's sticking to it.
He rolled well, but Tikal isn't the only one in the room with a high Bluff modifier. Does anyone want to check Sense Motive to tell that he's faking?
(DM notes that Sense Motive and Knowledges, especially, are checks that the players should call out; I won't necessarily let you know if an NPC is lying otherwise.)

An incredibly good subject. Initial thoughts are both "Mr. Grisev publically proclaims his support for the Demogorgon" and "The Softer Side of Mr. Grisev", but she's long since learned how to tailor the game to the circumstances. In any case though, Nim'll need an appropriate costume before she can play.

Poor Rogald, I don't think he's going to live long.
Edit: Rogald might actually live a little while, depending on how the scene with Grisev plays out. Given Sphinx's determination to kill the berk, though, I doubt Rogald will die peacefully of old age.

Why is the berk needing to die anyway? or is that player secret info?
Did I miss anything in that regard?
I think it has to do with what Sphinx found out during his Vulcan mind meld with the guy. In any case, it's knowledge we're not privy to.
Rogald is obviously a scumbag who LOVES to kill, but he hasn't specifically targeted Sphinx as prey at any point.
I was actually wondering whether Sphinx was afraid of *anyone* figuring out that he's a telepath.

Yep! Being untrusting of people in general, he's highly insecure about others knowing the extent of his abilities. The priestess appears non-threatening and even likable based on what he gleaned from her thoughts.

Meh, just favouritism..nothing more
If you did not try and make everybody in the room an enemy, incl the rest of the pc's, then you might have eventually a better game... just a hint/ thought...

Thanks for the ..hint/thought...- but my character has only declared a hidden hostile intent towards two NPCs, and is openly trying to be *friends* with Grisev. He hasn't mind-read or even interacted with a single PC yet. Given Sphinx's background and current setting (the city of betrayers) - I think he's been played very appropriately.
And about having a 'better game?' I don't know about you but I'm enjoying the storytelling and having ~a lot~ of fun O.O.
"Act. Do. Be." -Factol Rhys
For what it's worth, I'm enjoying the hell out of playing Nim.
Y'know, the name of the game is "CROSS Purposes." It's not a straight-up situation. And anyway, I find Sphinx really interesting, and Nim HILARIOUS.
And about having a 'better game?' I don't know about you but I'm enjoying the storytelling and having ~a lot~ of fun O.O.
Does not mean that my character holds a favourable view of your char, atm a weak subservient Graith, who suddenly tries to be come across as not subservient, hmmz...
+ you might be having fun, but you might also be simultaneously chewing more up then you can really swallow... that's my opinion
I made the DC for the spell c craft, thus I know exactly what the spell does, that's why my char is surprised at both characters displays... and that's what my sense motive roll was for , not for the spell itself.
I toyed briefly with the idea of either counterspelling him or just ignoring the spell altogether, but thought better of it. All it would've served to do is to escalate things even more, and as much fun as that might've been, I recognize that Nim is in no position to be poking hornet's nests (at least, not any more than she already has...hehe).
In any case, we really should get moving forward a bit. At least away from Grisev. I don't think he's in any mood to answer any more questions.
