Converting the Planewalker PSCS pdfs to Pathfinder

Is anyone else around here interested in doing this? I use the PSCS pdfs quite a bit, but parts of the content are 3.5, other content is straight up 3.0, and some of it is printed in two places within the PDFs themselves, just with slightly different crunch in each instance.

If other people are into the idea of updating these, too, then I'd love to make it a thing we're doing!

While I can't do huge amounts of work on it, I'm definately game. I actually thought that the simplified races I'm making for the Codexcould be the seed for a new races chapter, and that archetypes would be a great new way to create classes tied to factions. I know others have similar thoughts too, so we could definately get this going.

Awesome! Though I think that, for the PSCS PDFs, we might want to stick close to the "core" races (human, tief, aasimar, bariaur, rogue modron); or at least, not stray too far from them in a "general" or "character creation steps" pdf.

In a PDF that's ABOUT character races, then yeah, for sure, let's go wild.

Do you plan to use those rules from Advanced Race Guide?

Archetypes tied to factions also sounds great.

I don't know what I do or do not plan to do at this point, honestly my main goal is just to give the PDFs a good grooming-over and eliminate some ... eh, issues they have, like with the duplicated, conflicting rules and etc.

As I said before, though, in a lot of places in the PDFs they even make mention to 3.0-specific things -- Pick Pockets vs Sleight of Hand, bonuses to Read Lips checks, that kind of stuff. Updating to Pathfinder at the same time as correcting these inconsistencies seems like the logical thing to do, as I think most people who play 3.5-ish games these days are using Pathfinder over vanilla 3.5. While bringing it in-line with the Pathfinder design, I'd also eliminate the immunities that some of the faction abilities/prestige classes/etc are handing out.

Agreed about the immunities. I play a combination of PF/3.5 and houserules and it's not at all strict, most stuff like the sleight of hand we deal with on the fly. Minor changes to some npcs could work, for example Black Marian as an oracle, Wooly Cupgrass an alchemist, factol Rhys a magus.
