Yes, and he's not happy.
By the way, Ben the Obi Wan moment tugged at my heartstrings, keep it going - at least until Grazz escapes

Flashback: Standing amid the ruins of the alley lot, Jhank'kor turns to Vivec after a moment of introspection, "Though I barely know you, why do I fear you will be the death of me?"
Oh, my Obi Wan is about to put a blade broadside a certain Zerai's fanny.
Remind me to take Still Spell when I can...fireballs can still go off without fingers.
Ben, if you kill me, you will only make me stronger...
I'll carry a wood sliver from my pistol just in case.
...However, to note, I like Vivec; interesting people fall on the wrong sides of xenophobic power-battles ALLL the time. I just have a feeling you shall experience a grand reward from Du'mihn for your loyalty and worth ethic--first class tickets to the Wastes, anyone?
Ar'dru would join in the conversation but it's rude to talk with your mouth full.
At the moment he's just really hoping that Grazz was relatively clean-living so he doesn't catch anything.

BTW it's my B-day today! Happy UN-BIRTHDAY everybody!
Congrats, Azure! Enjoy your evening!
Here, Azure, I present to you this truly awesome imaginary cookie because it's all I've got. (I'm saving the human sacrifices to appease EvilDM when we see annother squiddie.)
Happy Birthday Azure! And a very happy un-birthday to everyone else.

Happy Birthday Azure!!
Happy Birthday boss!!!
I sent a few Sending spells, so don't be surprised if a portal opens nearby and drops off a big birthday cake with a hot gith babe inside!
Huzzaah!!!
I'm going to be out of town from the 22nd to the 28th so sorry if my posting is irregular over that period. My internet's also playing up but I should be able to get that fixed soon.

O.K. At this point, Grazz has escaped Ar'dru's clutches, but imediately ran into another set of complications. So, until you post again, Ar'dru will be on the balcony, shredding a bloody grey cloak, and picking bits of Grazz out of his teeth. He'll add a super secret bonus to all intimidation checks by the party.
BTW it's Gy-Nath. Long pause, like "Billy-Joe" or "James Earl Ray". Gy'nath would be pronounced as basicly one word {gY'nath}, while Gy-Nath is pronounced as being almost two words {Guy NAth} with the accent on the front of each part.
Hmm, in that case I might consider giving my character a name change to Du-minh. I had intended it to be spoken as "Due Min".
Your choice. The differance is rather subtle, but it's there. I.e., Du'minh {Due-min} said faster vs. Du-Minh {Due Min} with more of a pause and more emphisis on the second part {min vs. Min}. It would almost be like "Minh" was his name, and "Du" was added on later.
Similarly, Gy-Nath was probably named "Nath" but his name changed as he himself advanced in his career. I see githyanki names being somewhat dynamic, like in the old oriental tradition. Thus Gy-Nath the captain, overseeing troopers with short names, and reporting to the supreme leader Ali-Gorthifsha N'khal (who may have been just "Ali" as a low-level warrior, then Ali-Khal, then Ali-Gor'khal, etc., etc.)
So, while Gy-Nath and Ali-Gorthifsha N'khal can be called Gy and Ali, respectively, a name like Jhank'kor is always "Jhank'kor", never just "Jhank", unless in battle-speak, when it might just be "Jan"
Mmm, a nice steamy cup of bantering in the calm before the storm.
Have at thee (verbally)!
Umm... Dunamin might be excited about the impending storm- but Rey doesn't like where he's standing - right in the middle of everyhting...
How does the 'order of the fanged mind' sound for Ar'drus old unit? A bit corny I know but it could be appropriate for a group of psionic Duthka'giths.
Sorry about the lateness of this (I forgot we were supposed to be deciding on our past afiliations) but I figure Grazz probably knows our backgrounds so this might come up.

Vivec secretly sees if there are any avenues of a quick escape
Sure. Grazz just gave you a shove in the direction of 'behind the bar, hidden from view'. He's also playing along with the "Vivic's not himself in the membrane" card, which, just maybe, some of the rest of the party will buy.
What an annoyance to have good games interrupted with random spam. :x
How should one go about reporting this user?
The button on the top right corner of each post labeled '!!' will take you to the report page for the posts. I'm on it already though, don't worry.
Thanks Clueless, we're lucky to have effective and competent site-tenders here on Planewalker.
Sorry if it seems like i trapped your character upstairs, but I wanted to run a tense situation with the bartender, 'cause, like, I think he would have heard you guys knock down a wall.
The situation upstairs is still a bit ... tense, so there are only a few options as I see 'em.
1) "Pardon me" your way down the stairs. Unlikely to work well with bloodthirsty pirates, but they say good manners is the glue of society.
2) Tumble check to move down the stairs past all the pirates. Y'know, I hear that the only thing gith pirates like more than being shoved down a flight of stairs, is being shoved down a flight of stairs ... twice.
3) Yell "You incredible berks, Grazz is getting away!" or something similar which will move the whole throng en masse down the stairs.
4) Wait for your companions, who will be back up with Grazz in tow, presently.
5) something I haven't thought of.
Be warned, jumping off the balcony has been done, do if Daraz does it, I'll have to make it interesting, like having him meet someone or something at the bottom, or Evil DM will start poking me with a sharp stick.
What was the bartender's response to J's innuendo about Grazz escaping?
This reminds me a bit of a recent Spiderman issue I read (or could be another Marvel comic, can't remember), regarding registration of "superpeople".
During a confidential hearing with Tony Stark / Iron Man, he's asked something like this:
Bureaucrat: "How do you respond to the fact that anonymous "superheroes" have destroyed property for X billion dollars over the last 50 years?"
Stark: "I respond with another number: 417"
Bureaucrat: "417?"
Stark: "417 is the number of times that Earth has been saved from complete destruction by these superheroes you speak of in that period."
Yep, new player here.

Welcome!
1 note you may not have gotten, we've been putting dialogue in color, stands out more abd easy to differentiate speakers.
Welcome to the gang, Zimrazim! Didn't know we had a new player joining, but I hope you'll have fun!
Azure, I'm a little unsure how you want to resolve the whole "Rey tries to bluff how he was controlled by outside forces".
Is opposing checks with social skills what we do? I wouldn't mind being a bit railroaded to have Du'minh somehow be convinced of his innocence so that Trias doesn't have to lose his PC, though I'm hard-pressed to think of ways to play it out in a credible manner...
yea... exactly what Dunamin said...I don't think everyone will have to force their characters to believe Vivec - I'm sure Azure has something in mind.
Also, one thing i haven't figured out yet is how J realized I was a zerai... I DID claim that I was Grazz, but any (temporary) barmy -including barmy yanki- could have said that.
Yea, I wanted to surprize y'all with our new member.
Well, dice are no substitute for good roleplaying. Ya gotta admit, tho, Vivec was acting pretty strange. And Du'minh, at least, knows that he's probably telling the truth about the head being not exactly 100% deceased, as it should not have known what was going on in the next room at that moment. Besides, Du'minh KNOWS how it's suposed to work, better than Vivec, and he's aware of the resonance stone's power, but unlike his own SUPERIOR mental fortitude, the incompetant caster probably couldn't handle it.
Oh, and Jhank'kor's mark is hidden under his cowl right now, so Y'shenn can't I-D it ... yet.
No, "dog of a Zerai" was reference to V's alliance to Grazz. Also, betrayal is considered a distinctly Githzerai characteristic, so he would consider V no better their traitorous scum. The only irony is that he would be incidentally correct to call him Zerai. It fits that such claims would make the clandestine rogue nervous, wondering if he has been discovered.
And yes! Weclome, Zim! Hope you have fun.
Thanks.

good point
I checked the spell description for Detect Magic. Am assuming that auravision would allow Du-Minh to see things in belt pouches, pockets, etc.
Also, if the group goes to question Grazz in a private room, Ya'shenn will follow.

Az, only 1 is a githzerai? You sure? Last I checked I was one too.
DM-person, would she have heard about the Knowledge-Sight-Will thing, or would it be 'just' an ulitharid head, as far as she knows?

Ummm, yea, just so that your PC doesn't have to have everything explained to her, she knows about the ulitharids, and read in yesterday's paper about Knowledge's murder. The rest of current party knowledge, she'll deduce easily enough.
I sure hope Grazz had rented a bigger room than we did, considering that we're 9 at the table. Then again, we did manage to do a bit of expansion, effectively combining two rooms into one.
Also, I wonder how confidential this second meeting really is. Grazz' door may still have its hinges, but there's a huge wall section missing, leading into a room that has no door. Are we assuming that one of us leaves to shoo away eavesdropping pirates?
Yea, i figure somebody's at the open doorway, watching the hall. Moot point, all the pirates are back at the bar, drinking away Grazz's coin.
Would Ya'shenn recognize Chieftain Obsidian Orb by sight? Don't think they've been formally introduced yet.

Just wondering... to an illithid, would the brains of Githyanki telepaths with very high mental attribute scores taste like filet mignon? (y/n)
Don't ever want to find out, of course.

At least she has the will to resist a good bit more mind blasting
Hmm, this recent idea put forward by Du'minh actually made me think of Ghost in the Shell. Mental criminal investigation and all that...
Yeah, she's one of the few people in the party who's more vulnerable to their physical attacks than their psionic attacks.
I think his suggestion should be possible via the Lesser Mindlink/Mindlink ability (which she has). Pull memories from Grazz via detect thoughts, transmit the spellcasting ones to Du'minh. Azure, what do you think?
I'm not sure how widely known the abilities of the Rish-i-Chal would be, especially the detect magic part, so she hasn't pointed Du'minh at the crystal eyes yet. Not to mention, if Sight does start possessing people/making trouble, it'd interrupt the questioning of Grazz.
Oh, yeah, just throwing this out there -- Grazz would very likely resist the idea, but given the sheer amount of time it would take to thoroughly debrief him, there might be some value to keeping him alive over a longer period of time than this conversation. If you can get past the whole "selling out the children of Gith into unspeakable enthrallment, brain extraction, or even ceremorphosis" thing. Not to mention that if the illithids do end up eventually getting him, not only would they know what the party is up to, they'd learn exactly how much their security was compromised by the whole Accursed-Sight thing.

But true...however, I don't see what a restrained, 3 str mage with his tentacle staff and water-logged pistol are going to do in this regard.
Speaking of which, thank the gods that OOTS is back. Roy is an inspiration to all us fighters out there.
As to what J can do without spells, doesn't he have some gear that could be helpful here?
Even a thunderstone could help to ease off the pressure of our backs.
By the way, Azure, I take it Rey is visible again after targeting a spell on Du'minh?
