You can always cast fly via the balcony.
Serious note, are our psi-like abilities usuable again? I hope so, cause I think I'll need my gear and abilities oh...about now. lol

I hope Rey has been working on his reflex save...cause it's about to get a WORK OUT.
I'm sure as hell not standing next to him when the nat. 1 goes down.
LOL!!!!
The layers of treachery are getting a bit bewildering now.
We’re still in round 2 though, since we’re waiting for how Ar’dru and Gy-Nath’s actions are being resolved, right?
Yes...I posted the rest of my action for mental coherency. They go before the bolt of ions strikes, hopefully incapacitating Grazz before my tirade.
If they do, I'll edit my response...but I think I'll still be yelling at Rey no matter what.
wow, Ben I know EXACTLY how you feel. From now on, 9/11 will be remembered as the day that this party dropped 4 nat. 1s
At least most of them didn't hurt too badly--it could be much worse. Someone could fail thier escape artist check and get thier brains eaten.
HUSH! Don't let the dice gods (or da DM) hear you!!! It's bad juju.
Indeed...I think it's time we start looking for the ilithi-roper hanging from the roof...
So, which one of us is going to punish Vivec for his DUI--Diving Under the Influence (of dead Ulitharids)?? Jhank'kor isn't too scrupulous after all he's been through; in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he puts the ol' Zerai in the hot seat reaaaaaaaaallllllll soon.
Edit: To keep things progressing in the IC thread, I'm posting my Knowledge(his) check here on Emir Rouge, as this is a side-note to the main affairs at the moment.
Knowledge(History): 28
(It sure helps to only have six class skills and a high Int; you can max out your ranks more easily )
As a DM I've long done what I call a "critical strange" rule. Critical hits (and misses) should not just have mechanical advantage (or ...) they should also affect the plot. Thus, I often make a natual 1, or sometimes when THE number needed to succeed is rolled, it is a "critical strange". Maybe it works, but not in the way the PC intended, or something backfires, or it opens an opportunity for someone else, or something else happens that has lasting effects on the campaig, or the EvilDM comes out of the closet.
Keeps the DM on his toes creatively.
Also keeps players on their toes, like the time a PC failed a will save so bad that ...

However you are making a knowledge check about somebody you've never met.
Sooo....
The Red Armada is a fleet of spelljamming and pan-planar pirates. The organization is as loose as they come. The original Red Armada's origins are unknown and there are dozens of conflicting stories, many of which may be true reports about particular pirate fleets that eventually come to identify themselves as belonging to the Red Armada.
Basicly, any murdering cutthroat pirate thief of sufficient repute can 'petition' to 'join' the Red Armada (just start wearing red and swagger). If accepted they can enjoy the dire reputatation and knowledge of many safe ports (like Sigil) and fences that the various established captains of the Armada can provide. There are, however, many stories of pirate fleets who dared call themselves the Red Armada who were wiped out by those who did not consider them up to snuff. Infighting and rivalries are also comman.

*giggle
Trias, the dice gods looked kindly upon you--one away from a crit! I could almost taste the 104 points of damage rolling off the screen... :'(
But Ar'du gets the kind notion that the spiteful warlock actually helped him for once.
And, like I said in the IC, I don't have too many options spell-wise to stop a guy from doing things. I either A)Incinerate B)Obliterate C)Flash-freeze D) Electrify E)Dissolve or F)Any combo of the above.
I wish I had those options on my SATs
I wish I had those options on my SATs
I did, but they got to my desk before I could put the lighter to the binding.
Edited my LB to Scorching Rays--both miss, so no real mechanics change, cept that our armor wearers are ok....well, besides that the one aimed at Grazz is a NAT 1!!!!
So, there ya go...More nat 1's to play with in that scenario.
I'll wait to edit my Sound Lance post, according to what plays out before.
Hey Ben, come oooooooon - I only used the 'nice' spells - the ones that don't do damage, nor put you in immediate danger.
Why you gotta playa hate? or in this case, playa-characta hate?
Why you gotta playa hate? or in this case, playa-characta hate?
Ya confusin playa with playa-characta...besides, I don't have 'nice' spells. They don't come in the warmage handbook. And I don't think me hitting ya with all 3 str would do much.
Alas, I had ta pull out the magizooka...but I don't think I'll get to use that one this round (since you probably won't cast that spell), so don't fear. Maybe J will just put you at gun point until others come to clear things up.
I'm hoping Vivec doesn't do anything more fishy, though casting spells on J and trying to confuse Grazz with Daraz won't help...I'm hoping I don't have to use that SL on ya; it'd be no fun without our Zerai traitor in the group!
How about you run down and try to get their attention? J pulls his guns out and start frothing at the mouth and let things go from there...coo?
Or something to that effect?
I'm just going with the tenuous trouble with living in a mix of outcast Zerai and Yankis with Illithids raiding and the Queen vanished...tensions are on edge and even blade brothers will probably be cautious around each other--J isn't too trusting, anyway.
Maybe I should've designed him with a stun gun in his repitoire...
Wow...this is getting to be fun. Can't say that things are boring in Git'Raban with us around!
So...while we are shooting each other in one room, the warriors are...
A)Pummeling Grazz
B)Getting Pummeled by Grazz
C)Scratching their heads at the shouting and explosions
D)All of the above in some warped fashion
E)Facing some unknown blight via lithid head over there.
That's what the cranial tattoo is for--and ya see what happens when it goes off.
Pandemonium - here we come
Teehee!!! Yep! That'll feel like home for you Zerais.
Pandemonium? I reckon Daraz's soul is headed for Carceri. It dosen't look like the charred body'll be going anywhere soon :/
I'm sorry, Wei...it just doesn't help to have 'lithid carnivals and high profile Zerai's running about. But hey...it's a free barbecue.
Way back when, the party I played in had this rouge who got burned to death twice within only a few sessions. I christened him fishstick, and now it seems that my bad karma is taking it's toll three years later.
Wow! Poor fellah needed to get his Dex up...but yes, fate doth make us regret prior boasts and jibes!
Two giths stand in a line of petitioners. They make it to the front, where an undead Knight guards the portal. "What is the cause of death?"
The thinner Zerai cuts a glance at the other, both smelling of char and smoke, before spitting out. "...Incineration."
Uh oh... I, eh, broke Grazz.

Solid try, though! If we didn't have psycholand over here, we might have fixed this problem with the Zerai's. I'm lovin' the irony that Jhank'kor, the proud Yanki, will probably be blamed for this mess and that he tried to honor the "death" of a Zerai by killing his "killer." Welcome, to the Twilight Zone.

Ah well, time to slip back into the chaos

Ahahahaha!! I would've too!!! Taking down the Accursed is no small feat--as we are finding out. If anything occurs after this, everyone will believe Fate and Luck walk with that foul critter.
...well, until the fireball cannon gets aimed the right way.
For the record, the right way is that way. *points and runs in the opposite direction as fast as possible*
Ah well, time to slip back into the chaos
Sorry about that. At first I was going to go with that but then I said "Y'nkow, Grazz SHOULD at least get a save. Hey, I even tried to get him to fail that save ... 3 times! He just kept passing.

As a fellow DM, I can also understand if you want to give such a significant character a bit extra fight in him. We'll just have to beat on him a bit more.
For the record, the right way is that way. *points and runs in the opposite direction as fast as possible*
LOL!!!!
so we've got J employing the 'use every spell in my arsenal' strategy... let's just hope he doesn't have any "Polymorph" spells memorized.
He sure does! (If you mean from living matter to dust   )
Sorry Ben, but I gotta love the irony here:
J casts fireball -> J burns himself very badly
J casts Sleet Storm -> J slips and falls on his ass
J casts fireball -> J burns himself very badly
J casts Sleet Storm -> J slips and falls on his ass
Of course, such is the way things work in reality--your best talents are the very skills that burn you. Just keepin up with the realism.

I love it when players give me ideas!

If Jhank'kor "chooses" by pointing at Gy and crying traitor, I'll laugh my head off.
Sorry to disappoint (though I must say the thought came to mind  ), but the chal isn't inclined to a quick death just yet.
Edit: though I would've loved to see what would happen in another fireball went off at this range... JK! JK!!
Now, if you two are finished with your Obi-Wan moment, Az and I could use a hand with a notoriously deadly poisonous assassin-slaying traitor and his infiltrating necromancer pawn at the balcony!
What? You don't like our dialoguing?? I thought we'd go the next three rounds, so that we could have a full OOTS episode written out.
But true...however, I don't see what a restrained, 3 str mage with his tentacle staff and water-logged pistol are going to do in this regard.
I think Grazz would probably out Daraz and Rey, if he knows he's been betrayed. If I had invisibility right now, I'd use it.
