The hilt and blade of this weapon are made from one single piece of black indefinable material, it seems to suck the light away slowly, but only very close to itself.

A question: If the githyanki were to enter the Underdark and eventually Saev, how would they go about bringing their flying ships with them?
I'm guessing they would be able to dissassemble each ship, remove the spine of earthly wind, illithid control skull, and other critical components, take those components along, burn the wood hulls, then reassemble them on Saev (after a lot of woodcutting on that world). Having mlar along would speed up the process a great deal. Does that sound about right?

IMO, that seems to be a likely idea. I would hazard a guess that the mlar would have minor spells to locate good wood or perhaps speed along the construction, depending on the number and skill of the mlar involved. Just my two copper pieces.

One thing, though; the astral ships are of metal construction, not wood. You hit upon one major sticking point in the transfer of forces. In order to move the Astral ships from world to world (or back to the Astral for that matter) whole requires a gate. Disassembling them is an option; a very difficult and time-consuming option.
so not a really realistic option then..besides, a gate is way cooler
During the Incursion, did the Revered Queen do that herself, or did she scribe scrolls and delegate? (I'm guessing the former; she was paranoid...) In any case, I figure any scrolls would have been used up by now; just curious how it was done.
Edit: Actually, the Revered Queen virtually never left her palace, so maybe she did delegate. Not sure.

Sorry things have dropped off, guys. RL just kicked my butt. Loosing my job, my girl broke up with me, again (probably for good this time). Moved into a new apartment, and the roof leaks. Oh woe!
Still, The job was a prison (literally), we're still friends, and the place is phat (when it's dry).
