I am trying to figure the dice-roller out again as well... man i so long for the old one, it was far easier/ better to use.
Was my diceroll right?

Azure, that was a great post. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to add to it.
Agreed, Zimmy, but I tried
Now where have I heard that line before?

Zimmy? are you wanting US to be there when they "parley" with Pale? or should we be busy preparing? how, what, where?
I for one want to Gather Info on anything going on in the north
(why he needs the ppl of Starmatle..) and the nearby region..
Any info that would get us back from a position of being railroaded by our beloved DM

No, Raa-Shiis and Zjaa are NPCs from Incursion and don't really follow the same naming rules. Zim was right on the first two, though.
From the movie Heavy Metal "Sterrrrrnnnn! He's nothin' but low-down, double-dealin', back-stabbin', larcenist, perverted worrrm!"
Trying to play Ib'm as the exact opposite of an emotionless machine.
D'aynn is "Captain Dan" from the move Yellowbeard (specifically the scene where he's 'voted' captain.)
Edited: Yes, I'm trying to encourage you to watch the movies Yellowbeard & Heavy Metal
Riiiight , you lost me...
Funny thing is, I keep having to resist the urge to feel sorry for Forgotten Realms being invaded by a bunch of Gith Hooligans
And I am not fully understanding the last post Azure wrote,
Have we flown to the port now and we are on one of the Warships in the harbour? is it anchored to the docks or ?
The ship you flew to, the Swallow is anchored out in the bay, away from the town.
OK, now I need to know what Zimmy wants, if I dont have to take that into account, i will fly on the Wyvern to town when he physically can...
I simply want to do some stuff for my own character advancement.. but not sure if I can do all that within an hour.. lol.
I'll allow a little time for anyone to post before Pale actually arrives.
To all: DM likes boats and pirates, and may be using nautical speak quite a bit. General nautical terms I'll use as convention calls for, so if I say something you don't understand, or I say something wrong let me know. Ship sizes and types can be googled, but I'm using stats converted from an old Dragon (dec'86!).
To Ii/Ya's: The co-captains Zjaa and Raa-Shiis seem to have a great deal of influence over the other githyanki. They are also astute, and realized having the guests aboard THEIR ship would make THEM the 'leaders' in Pale's mind.
To Kirath: He knows now that Pale's core troops are indeed loyal to him, politically at least. Many abandoned other leaders to follow the Ascendancy, and Pale is a high-up in the bloc.
To Ar'dru: Xykk't is obviously a full Cultist, but seems to enjoy debates with Ar'dru about loyalties and Gith's will. She actually asks him, if he were to receive contrary orders from Pale, Kirath, and Gy-Nath, which would he obey, or would he go his own way? She is trying to feel him out for a rebellion against Pale, he knows it ...
Unfortunately for me, it takes me more then an hour to do anything regarding interests of mine, so I am stuck atm...
O, and by the way, I love pirates also... so I dont mind at all..
Should be able to post tonight.

I've been thinking that (if possible) we would not want to "start" the fight (heh), since the pirates are so determined to engage at least initially in negotiation. If the conscripted ships were to leave the fleet right now, at a minimum, N'ach't would have to be taken out. Does anyone have thoughts on this?

A nicely placed disintegrate?
Ya'shenn isn't certain that Gy-Nath will be happy about this turn of events...
Even beyond that, entering combat would probably put a halt to "negotiations." I'm inclined to let Pale initiate a fight, but I'm not sure.

Well, then a "friendly" grapple? and yank her out of the pilot's seat..
Oh ooc I totally agree with you but in-character Kirath is a sitting duck and while he isn't afraid to die he just doesn't want it be here and now.
Very understandable. I'm thinking a) Azure would give enough warning for Kirath to teleport (I hope) and/or b) I'm thinking Pale would have a fit (to say the least) but not immediately disintegrate him. He likes to engage in lengthy insults beforehand...
edit: In game reasoning: Mist of the Mind would probably not instantly disintegrate him. She'd drain him of as much info as possible as quickly as possible. There's also the (slight) possibility that Kirath isn't even involved in plotting against Pale. Pale seems likely to harangue him and call him "Heretic" a lot before tossing fireballs. Might not be the case, however...

Oh I agree but the rat bastard wanna-be lich would probably drop a dimensional anchor on Kirath beforehand.
Every Gith can Dimension Door, so I don't think you have to worry to much.. Isn't there any other Skiffs that are piloted by "friendlies"? where you can port to if need be??
Heh I already set that up. It pays to plan ahead
In your own mind, or does DM azure know about it to?
He knows or at least I think he knows I had Ya'shenn set up orders with Geb to keep a skiff near Pale's ship at all times for Kirath able to get to a clean getaway (although he can fly under his own power just not at great speed)
Just checking never assume anything is better imo, keeps things clear and keeps y'r character alive..
1) Did the barbarians of Starmantle do anything to get ready for Pale's arrival?
2) What are the odds looking like now, in terms of Pale's forces vs. everyone else's?
3) The current conscripted crew numbers about fifty, doesn't it?

How far can Ii go in "pulling rank"? Is she out of her league against the Necromancer or is she within her right as an "minor officer/ Knight of Vlaakith"?
1) Yes and no. The graith under most of the captains were roused, but Styrrn and Ib'm seem to be waiting until the others are underway before giving the news out in general.
2) The graith here outnumber Pale's forces, but few of them are of warrior caliber. If it came down to a fight, it could go either way. Of course, if Pale actualy does ghoulify all those corpses, you guys are screwed.
3) About fifty, including the entire party of Sigilan gith.
to BS; If you were still considering rankings under Vallkith, Pale as Queen's Necromancerwould greatly out-rank Ii. Of course, as a knight, she could do whatever the heck she wanted anyway, outranked or not.
So even under the old command structure i would be not out of my way doing this... heh, weird, but useful.
Under the old regime, knights had their own command structure. If a knight (Ii) disobeyed a commander (Pale) then the commander would either just have to deal with it, or try to reprimand the knight, which would likely result in a duel. If the knight was way out of line, she might be punished by her own order, or attacked on the spot by another knight who witnessed it.
So yea, Ii overstepped herself with this action, but ...
1- she didn't actualy disobey any particular order
2- Pale has been treating her like a knight, and as a knight she is semi-independent anyway
Ya'shenn, on the other hand, left her assigned position. Now, if the knight took the psion instead of her abandoning her post, that would be one thing ....

[EvilDM - What it would be is a lie, which are bad Karma.]
Heh, lol... But thats what being evil is all about? and who gives a hoot about Karma? I don't
Is Pale building Golems? hmmz... just musing, don't answer Azure
I don't know, I'll find something in a sourcebook that he could animate. In fact, the bags of "extras" will probably be more important in the long run (oops, did I let that slip?)
Pale gives EvilDM a chance to use several different types of undead I've got in the books.
OK, how much longer you want me to let this go on? I wanted to wait and be sure Azreal read my "last chance to post" post.
But I can only build so much suspense, and I don't want this two hours to last a week. This isn't Dragonball
Meh, if he misses a deadline, no biggy, just decide for him then, looking at how he portrays himself, then decide his best "position".
I'm guessing Ya'shenn already did this while describing Pale's forces, but in case it needs to be noted, assume the pirates know which ships to not fire upon, should that become an issue.

Really sorry about the delay guys. My squad is dropping like flies at each exam so I'm having to spend most of my time studying to keep ahead.
Hopefully that post'll clear up Ar'drus position (logistically, politically and philosophically).
"We're making a better world. All of them, better worlds." - Anonomous Harmonium Officer
Nice post, Azriael.
It's possible that Pale's target (after Starmantle) may be an illithid one. Perhaps the party may find out soon. (I actually had a dream about BoGr lately, in which Pale's target was Oryndoll. What kind of a nut would attack Oryndoll?! A nut like Master Pale, that's who.)
I doubt Ya'shenn would be very happy if that were the case. She shares the githyanki hatred for the Great Enemy, but she also thoroughly loathes Pale.
If it were really some illithid enclave he had in mind, though, Pale really wouldn't have had to do very much conscription. That would, however, be assuming Pale didn't have Charisma as his dump stat.

Didn't our Azure hint that he was going north, like Moonsea north? He (Pale) is playing an ass, so he might have cha 6
Charisma is a stat reflecting force of personality, not necessarily likability.
I'll probably post Pale's arrival tomorrow night.
And yes, he has been going north until this point. You may be surprised where Pale plans to go next. Or maybe you won't since you might be able to figure it out from my descriptions of the larger situation with the githyanki in Faerun.
And my in-between post?
?
i'll have to look again, I missed it ...
Azure, that was a great post. Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to add to it.
