Re: BoG'r OOC.

But the fact is, under Vlaakith, even though a commander outranks a knight, a knight of Vlaakith could do pretty much whatever they wanted. Yes, it's a risk that Pale would turn on Ii, but less of of risk than anyone else would face.

Re: BoG'r OOC.

The few thoughts that come to mind are:
We are now in in "forced league" with a high-up arcanist that might be able to provide us a way back to Sigil.

I personally would love to continue to campaign on this world for some extensive time.. (fits the background story of my char really well)

But I am not sure if this is in the interest of the rest of the party, but there seems to be enough going atm to keep us occupied regardless of any of our personal goals..

my idea is that if we work against Pale/ MotM.. we will have a big enemy and we must prepare ourselves for some trouble to get back to Sigil, if at all in any foreseeable future..

Re: BoG'r OOC.

Important consideration: Would the combined forces of the city of Starmantle, the pirates, Kirath's forces, and any party members who join in have ANY chance against Pale's forces? (I suppose it isn't necessary to win conclusively, as long as it's sufficient to keep Starmantle from being completely overrun and/or simply gives the party/Kirath's forces the option to separate themselves from Pale.)

Ya'shenn is entirely willing to go herself, if need be, but would MotM/Pale ever allow it...?

If Starmantle/pirates decide to defend, Ya'shenn would be willing to JOIN that defense, actually. (I'm sorry if this inconveniences the DM greatly, but we are talking about a Reconciliation-through-and-through character here.)

Re: BoG'r OOC.

Don't worry about inconveniencing the DM. The DM actually thinks how things are turning out to be rather interesting.

You can't know the forces in Starmantle before you get there. There MAY be enough warriors to resist Pale, if that's what they want to do. Pale's real strength lies in the Pale Guard, some 500 or so swordwraiths, each one presumably as tough as any experienced githwarrior, with the added toughness of being undead. Pale himself is no slouch, though, and who knows how many graith corpses are ready to be ghoulified at a moment's notice ...

... but Pale isn't going to want to waste these. Starmantle isn't his final target, that much you know. He wants to 'recruit' what forces he can there, for an attack elsewhere.

Re: BoG'r OOC.

Sounds to me like Ya'shenn wants to come along. This is certainly possible. Of course, the other PCs will get wind of what's going on (Ar'dru is currently .... preoccupied Eye-wink ). She'd likely be sighted on the wyvern by somebody, and it would be reported thus to Pale, sooner than if Ii took off by herself.

But going with would not slow the wyvern significantly and might be a good idea, anyway.

Either way, I need to know what you want to do, before I can post.

What do you want to do with Ar'dru atm Azure? Should we do a side story or just tastefully fade him to black for a while?

Re: BoG'r OOC.

Hmm...

Odds of Kirath being able to dim-door to another ship (i.e., one of his forces' ships being within range) if it becomes necessary?

How difficult would it be for him to send a message to Gib/Geb, whether directly or through Ya'shenn?

If N'ach't is... dealt with, how many of the PCs/party NPCs are able to pilot? (Since N'ach't is undead, I figure being a psion isn't required.)

Burning Spear wrote:

Mostly, because Ya'shenn can be rather persuasive, even without resorting to mind control.

Lastly: Any idea what the chances are of the party members fighting among themselves (particularly looking at the party NPCs here)?

Re: BoG'r OOC.

1) Odds of Kirath d-dooring = preety good. Plus he can fly!

2) Not hard at all (and it was Gib)

3) "Dealing" with N'Ach't may prove ... problematic. Anybody can pilot the ship, if they don't need to do anything fancy (think about somebody learning to ride a bike, though fortunately there isn't much to crash into). Ya'shenn is a trained pilot, and presumably Gy-Nath has been at the helm of an astral ship before, as he is a kith'rak.

4) Don't know how Ar'dru would react, but he might be absent [Depends if Az can/wants to post anything before this plays out].

Finding out NPC reactions would require telling them about the plan. Ya'shenn's best guess (take 20 sense motive);

Any of the native Git'ribani would approve, as they dislike Pale. Ha'kan'a and K'tch have a higher fear factor than Kitiir or especially Sark'ja, who would probably want to help.

Na'rai would LOVE to stick it to Pale ... and to Mist.

Gy-Nath might not approve, as he seems to have quietly accepted the current chain of command. However, he is far more loyal to Ya'shenn as a battle-sister than to Pale.

5) Not much chance of party conflict, at least not physical, I think. The thought of being ordered to attack fellow githyanki would be as abhorrent to them as it is to Ya'shenn. I doubt if Ya'shenn's actions would get a party member or Git'ribani to turn on her (though Ar'dru can decide for himself), and Gib, Xykk't, Tar-Geel, et al. would support her.

Re: BoG'r OOC.

Tentative plan:

Ii goes to warn the gith/graith of Starmantle

Once it becomes necessary, Kirath teleports to a friendly ship

Gib/Tar'geel are informed of the situation and told to get their forces ready for a fight

Gib and/or Ya'shenn handle communications between groups

Should a battle break out between Pale's forces and the party's forces, Ahl'zet would make a nice focus fire target

Important: how long would it take Ii to get to Starmantle and talk to the pirates/graith there? Ideally Ya'shenn wants a mindlink with Ii, Kirath, and possibly also Sark'ja, but mindlinks will expire eventually

If a mindlink will work, it also allows Kirath/Sark'ja/etc to find out whether the pirates will resist, flee, or surrender, which will influence what the party does at that point

I'm debating whether Ya'shenn should go with Ii. I would really like for Ya'shenn to use her diplomatic/persuasive powers on the pirates, but she might be needed against the swordwraith. (Not that she'd do all that much vs. the undead, but she'd have opportunities to abuse Telekinetic Thrust, has an anti-undead sword, and other party members might need healing. I don't know if Azure wants the NPCs to handle the swordwraith by themselves, either.) If a mindlink with Ii would work, of course, she could do both.

B.S., I don't understand ypor last in-character post. It would take longer to reach Starmantle, but Ii can BEAT Pale there by an hour and a half (or so). If Ya'shenn is coming (and Zim's OOC post seems to indicate such) Ii need not tip off any one else present on the brig (N'Ach't included). Just take Ya'shenn, and since Ii is a knight, nobody will really ask why, at least until quite a bit later when they don't return and don't report to any other ship in the fleet.

Ii has encountered this before. As a knight, she represents the old order in githyanki minds and is assumed to be Ascendancy. The palpable tension was because Silver ISN'T Ascendancy, so he's suspicious of a knight.

Not enough info to tell. He has more than one ship, so he says, but there are several here.

In fact, the Silvers' initial assumptions are wrong. They figure you're there for them specifically to deliver some message or something ... you'll understand why when you learn the composition of the fleets.

In fact, all the captains could be considered Imperialist Apocalytes. She wouldn't know who has ties to the Silver Eyes, but she has to wonder about Captain Silver (Gish Lis) and his Silver Knives. Not only because of their name, but because they sound like an order of well-trained specialists.
