Heh, my interest goes out more to the Young heir, not the white lady, she reeks to much of the old logic of power hungry lich.
Within Lawful logic, I want more freedom of expression and advancement of power, so no undead or death at lvl 18+ for anybody.
Did not see the previous reply, lol, so Yea, I agree there, information is power, power to survive and power in any sense
Well, re-read the Ascendancy bloc article to start with. Anything additional will be in the form of rumor & hearsay.
As for mental practice, Ya'shenn needn't dominate fellow gith. She can "mind spar" with Gy-Nath (he is more powerful than Ya'shenn in mind, though he is primarily telekinetic) and dominate a few of the graith they come across on the Shining Plains. Their strikeforce is allowed to attack graith in their patrol sector, so she can get some practice. If you want to edit your IC post to reflect this, go ahead.
Does Ya'shenn know much about Mist-of-the-Mind, that she could share with Bladedancer? (Other than legends/rumors)
At a minimum, I suppose she could describe what the mindset of members of her Order tends to be like...

Ya'shenn has heard of Mist-of-the-Mind, and could certainly inform Kirath about her own order.
In a meta-game sense, I never actually wrote a detailed history for the ghost psion ,other than saying she was just that; a slightly-over-max-level-for-githyanki psion (telepath) with a ghost template.
So, DM ruling is: Zimrazim, you may add to the story if you want (including MotM's name and title while alive) but it should include the following elements;
-MotM was a high-level telepath, specializing in domination and extracting information from unwilling minds. She was also an expert in planting post-hypnotic suggestions.
-She would have been a scholar of Mind Flayer techniques of enthrallment, their writing, and psi-tech such as mind-marking and crystal resonance.
-She was, at one time, the head of the Queen's external intelligence services. In terms of Bloc affiliation, MotM would be considered a Silver Eye, even if she also supported the Ascendancy (or didn't!).
-The particulars of her activities during the Incursion would not be well known to Ya'shenn, but a little questioning of Kirath's troops would go far in this.
>MotM is known to have posessed the High Blade of Mulmaster and dominate or plant suggestions in the rest of the rulers of that Graith city. The Mulmasterites are friendly to the githyanki even to this day.
>MotM had also spent a great deal of time traveling Faerun before the Incursion, planting spies. She had hypnotic suggestions in the minds of hundreds, if not thousands of Graith, who would aid the githyanki when the time came. It was partially for this reason that the githyanki generally didn't kill any graith who wielded no weapons. That farmer is not only useful, but they might even be a dominated spy for their cause. It is also suspected by some that this was the reason the Dales andcertain other cities and lands were off-limits by royal decree.
>MotM was essential for the founding of Kurogolomsh. The name is a bastardization "wretched super-lair", and was an area of the middledark under the Earthspur Mountains infested with destrachans (see MM). The githyanki attacked, and MotM possessed the largest, meanest one of the aberrations. She then used it to carve access tunnels to the surface and to other areas of the nearby underdark. Some had assumed MotM was in fact destroyed when a void bomb blasted Kurogolomsh, as she was last seen still 'riding' the monster. (Kirath was in a different part of the underdark, so knows only a little bit about this, or he wouldn't be asking)
Speaking of which, would Ya'shenn be able to tell if MotM has planted suggestions in someone else? I can already think of two occasions where Mist-of-the-Mind might have done so.
I might try writing a story for Mist-of-the-Mind, but I'd have to take some time to do that
Ya'shenn either asks Kirath directly about this, or asks Kirath's troops (probably through Ii?)

Regarding Ya'shenn's conversation with Kirath: Assume either that she is able to have a private conversation with the warlock, or if that isn't possible, that she answers his question telepathically. (Mainly, she doesn't want to demoralize the group via the 'expendable tools' reference, and she doesn't want to reveal *too* much about her Order to that group, though she is willing to answer Kirath's question.)

Is it just flavour or does the feeding of poisonous meat increase the fort sv vs poison?..
I have the feeling otherwise we are stuck in limbo.. i want to get into a less severely restricted environment..

Hmm, Githyanki sexuality is a tricky one.
From what I've gathered it has little to do with any kind of feelings of attachment and everything to do with the perpetuation of strong members of the species with the rearing being conducted by specialist workers and the parents returning to their military duties.
Do you think that's accurate Azure?
I'm not even sure if they would ever have sex for pleasure and what effect the timeless nature of the astral would have on conception & gestation. I'm also pretty sure that these conditions would have had a strong influence on the norms of home/hetro sexuality (not dissimilar to those amongst the samurai incidentally).
The half-dragon aspect to the biology and psychology just adds another layer, especially with the whole 'purpetuation of the superior race' thing.
Basically I'm chewing these thoughts over while I think about Ar'dru's next action (excuse the pun) so sorry about the delay, contributions appreciated.
At the moment I'm thinking that there'll be at least a few tests of ability (martial and mental) before Ar'dru would accept a mate.

Githyanki can't reproduce on their own home plane. Probably the #1 reason for their continuing interest in the Prime Material. Compared to, say, the Outer Planes, or the Elemental, it's probably one of the safer places for a species to raise its young.

You mean 'gross' not 'grouse' (which is a bird)
And actually, I was going for "disturbing", but "sick" will do
To Az: first of all, welcome back! Hope all is well.
As for the sexuality discussion (heh heh) ...
Yes, perpetuation of strength and vitality in the species is a major component, but the same can be said of human attraction too. A strong, brave githwarrior will likely attract some interest in the same way a 'cute' or 'hot' member of the opposite gender will in our own society.
As for sex for pleasure, I could see it as being just as, if not MORE prevalent in githyanki society. Think about it, their society has an effective form of birth control: giving up the resulting egg to the varsh caste. Not only is this accepted by their society, but encouraged, so I'd think casual sex would be at least as accepted by githyanki as it is in liberal human cultures ( like our own modern western culture ), and far more than in conservative human cultures.
So, feelings of attachment might be socially suppressed, but physical attraction actually encouraged. This doesn't mean all githyanki are promiscuous, shallow, 'players'. But I do see githyanki sexuality as being similar to what we find in modern western culture, minus a few traditional hang-ups, and figuring that all those people who get married only to divorce wouldn't bother in githyanki society.
Of course, feel free to argue the point with me, moving the discussion to 'githyanki sexuality' in the rrakkma section of the forums.
One last thing: In light of what I've written, know that Xykk't does not want Ar'dru for a "mate" in the way I think you were considering, i.e. some sort of lasting relationship. No, she just wants to boff his brains out a few times.
My guess/opinion is similar to Azure's, but with the following additions/comments:
The entire subject is just considered less important overall than it is in most human cultures. When someone in modern Western culture turns on the radio, they're extremely likely to hear one love song after another. Most of the githyanki cultural energy is devoted toward warfare, the utter destruction of the Great Enemy, destruction of all githzerai, destruction/conquest of barbarians, etc.
While githyanki can indeed "fall in love" or feel emotional attachment, duty is expected to take precedence over love. (The tale of N'ach't is a good example.) Telas-Niah isn't only scandalous because her lover was a githzerai, but because (another githyanki might argue that) her sense of love overrode her sense of duty.
I'm guessing that a typical githyanki might be deeply disturbed by the idea of formal eugenics. Given, however, that the Revered Queen was actually trying to replace all githyanki with "perfect" duthka'giths (though most githyanki, of course, did not know this), I wonder what the half-dragons were taught, especially those who were closest to the Queen's inner circle? It's possible that they might spend more time consciously considering the subject of eugenics...

He knows. Of course he knows. He's telling Ii to master the spark of divine in her blade. To let it corrupt her body and soul, but to then use its power! POWER!!!
No.
No he doesn't. He can't know.
... can he?
@ Azure: you muppet , so sense motive it is...
Anybody remind me how this bloody crappy new diceroller works? I REALLY preferred the old one, sigh, those were the good days...

Now i have to go catch some sleep unfortunately, as i wanted to keep posting, but need freshness for the interview
Good Luck!

Pale can't know for sure without Mist reading Ii's mind. He highly suspects, though. In fact, as an inner-circle necromancer, wouldn't it stand to reason that he'd know about a mission to retrieve the heart of a recently dead power of death and forge it into a weapon?
So, he suspects Ii (and he's right) but is trying to tell her to use the power instead of succumb to it. She did not choose to venerate a deity, unlike the Cultists, so he doesn't really consider her a heretic (though the fact she's a knight certainly influences this)
how strong is his grip? i have str 18, and is it his litch touch thats cold?, i presume i can play the same with my corrupted touch
I'd imagine Ii'Jyka'Vaar can get out of his grip easily. How is she going to react to the creepy evil necromancer, though?

Good old Pale isn't a lich yet correct? Because Kirath so wants to blast the barmy necromancer in the face and being a lich complicates that almost as much as him being a high level wizard.
Yeah, he's still a living necromancer, not an undead one.
Ya'shenn shares Kirath's sentiment. She has just dealt with enough githyanki of similar temperament/mindset (well, maybe not the insanity part) that she's fairly used to them. She's hoping the group will get opportunities for revenge later.

i'll comment in a bit on how she will react, meanwhile, isn't it vaguely accepted for Githyanki top hire priests of other races? i vaguely remember this is an accepted ..brb...
It is indeed acceptable for githyanki to hire "heathen Venerators" to heal githyanki troops. It's not so acceptable for a githyanki to convert to some heathen faith, though. Why, even Ya'shenn finds the worship of unclean god-things disgusting.

Yea, just referenced Dungeon 92, Interlopers of Ruun-Khazai.. and it indeed has an Githyanki army loyal to Vlaakith with red dragons and all hire a mercenairy cambion cleric...
I seem to have problems accessing the D disk with all my D&D stuff on it, and thus cannot read any files or digital books i had...
Azure, can you send me back the last file of my character that i send you? I only have a old version.

Yes still living, well mostly.
And mission accomplished on DM's part.
In fact, Pale is not as strong as Ii, but his touch is actually MUCH more powerful. This doesn't mean her corrupted touch doesn't affect him!
There we go.. Bombs away
I have a new possible player who wants to join:
named Hyaenadon...
he/she is welcome to join...
Question: Is Ii's corrupted touch an energy drain effect?
I cant check in my books as that disk is not acting properly which holds that info... but as far as i am aware, nope...
Its actually vile damage, and therefore has nothing to do with negative energy, and no, undead are not immune to it.
Then it would affect Pale. Of course, how do you feel about a fort save? DC is ...
... no, EvilDM, back in the closet. Pale has no desire to actually use his touch on the knight (at lest not now)
Ii does feel a particular chill from him, though. Eventually she'll see what his touch does ... but for the time being she knows something is there, and notices now that he takes pains not to touch living githyanki under him.
BTW, Master Pale has a PrC from Libris Mortis. If anyone has the book, see if you can guess which one
True Necro? without looking actually...
Ummm .... something about your post ....
The term "thou protest too much" comes to mind. Pale didn't exactly make that accusation. He actually prefaced what he said with "I hate heretics." The 'message' was cryptic enough to (hopefully) bypass BOTH their 'riders'.
Edit if you want. I think I'll leave the cliffhanger a little anyway, and turn the next post towards Kirath and Ar'dru. Not tonight though, I think.
its just of the top of my head, i cant read most of my files, coz my D-disk is acting like crap... to remember more i would have to look at the actual book... conundrum, no?...

At least good to see you are still alive and kicking, not having disappeared as some people on these boards seem to do..
Ii is not really interested in the political groups othe rthan re-establishing the "power" the knights had, and trying to get Dragons into the fold again..
I will think she is interested mostly in the Young Heir, as she is supported mostly by the knights, and thus she will show social interest in the Gith that ally to her..
I'm also on lookout for a net (weapon/ shield) to train with..
