LoL and ouch, good luck on that, and @t Zimmy, that dice roller seems very good, NOT, have you mentioned it to Clueless? he seems on the loop regarding the site, so i guess it will be worth pm-ing him.

and yes, Honeys, I am "Home", back in England from my 12day trip in Kiev, Ukraine.

Not a lot was discussed, really.  Ya'shenn was unable to find them in Assam, and wasn't able to find any graith who were thinking about the emissaries at the time.  Sounds like V'ka was in an area warded from scrying (the temple of Talos), and the same may also be true of the Emissary who entered the tower.  Probably none of the barbarians were actually thinking about the town-square one at the time that Ya'shenn was scanning thoughts.

Quote: * Githyanki do not

Quote:

* Githyanki do not believe in the sanctity of messengers.  Too often messengers can become prisoners or casualties anyway, so the githyanki don't even pretend to make a promise of safety, and expect none in return.  A githyanki Emissary is therefore an outcast, one who cannot return to her own people.  Githyanki outcasts in general are called Emissaries, but an Emissary in the traditional sense is a githyanki who willingly accepts exile in order to deal with graith for some critical reason.  An Emissary might deliver a message, then deliver the point of her sword knowing she can never return to the children of Gith, or she might live among the graith for many years.

'Emissary' is often synonomous with 'exile' and even 'traitor'.  A githyanki who has lost her honor through crimes or failure may regain it as an Emissary, delivering one last message to a graith nation on behalf of her queen.  Some Emissaries are hunted, and it is a point of honor for any githyanki to get to slay an Emissary from one's own warband.  Githyanki of other warbands are usually not under any obligation to do so.  Emissaries are considered graith, or nearly so, and remain exiles for life.  Only in rare circumstances, such as a full pardon by Queen Vlaakith herself, could an Emissary return to githyanki society. *

Ya'shenn might suggest

Ya'shenn might suggest getting as much info out of him as possible (he probably knows a lot about the area).  She also might suggest letting him live simply because having contacts who live among graith might be useful.

Of course, Ya'shenn would also be thoroughly disgusted by his sobriquet.

FYI, Ar'dru is unlikely to say much in negotiations. He's a warrior and will give or take orders but isn't big on negotiations. He's also bright enough to view them as a necessary evil which is best left to others - in this case probably Ya'shenn. I'll try to post non-verbal responses where appropriate but mostly he'll be standing there impassively waiting for 'real business' to re-commence.

If they drag on too long for his liking (in-game time, I'm not pressuring people for posts) he may become frustrated and do something rash- which could be fun Eye-wink .

TO BURNING SPEAR

Y'know, rather than roll a bunch of dice or go into another combat ... and considering the high diplomacy roll ... why don't you modify your last post so that you're not waving this guy on quite so much (a little hard for me to see him backing down once you say 'have at ya').  Try to convince him to stay on-mission, and he'll go for it.  Joining you will be a hard sell, but getting him to "serve" Ii in his own way while basicly staying put won't be such a hard sell, especially if you're a bit devious.  Ii should pick up quickly that yes, V'ka has an inflated honor (like any true child of Gith), but he is a criminal, and really enjoys the misery he inflicts on the graith here.

Oh, and yes, having you enter the temple was a way for Ii to be unaware of the happenings outside.  Devious EvilDM.

Yes, I use the idea that githyanki and githzerai speak dielects of the base language "githee".  Githzerai use more planar cant (making gitriibani sound more like zerth Surprised   ), and quotes from Zerthimon.  Githyanki speech is about 80% githee and 20% draconic.

Re-thinking this, since we only have a few active players now, and I don't want to leave you out of the action.  I can't think of anything more from V'ka for you to interact with, unless you want to confess you own 'relationship' with a Power with him.  If any gith would listen without a lot of judgement or any risk of telling anybody else, it'd be V'ka.

On a completely separate note, today is a very auspicious day here for me.  I know we've got BS in europe and AZ down under.  Not sure where Zim's from (if you told me I forgot Embarassed ).  Anyway, I'm a New Yorker.  Yankee through and through, since I know of 3 ancestors of mine who fought in the Revolution here.  I wasn't in Manhattan on 9/11, but was working upstate for a Manhattan florist on his his flower farm instead.  Still, September 11th is a date with a lot of mixed-up emotions for me.  One of our major clients was a minister who ran a religious retreat near where I grew up, he was on one of the planes.  A friend of mine was at the farmers' market at the World Trade Center, and he lost a coulple of trucks and a lot of stock, which nearly ruined him financially.  While I was working that morning, one of the terrorist's planes flew right over me at a low altitude, though I  didn't know what the deal was at the time.  One of my best friends has a brother in the NYPD, who was at ground zero when the towers fell (he made it).  I have a lot of respect and sympathy for firefighters and other first-responders.  I was glad when George W. Bush went after Al Qieda and the Talaban, then angry beyond words when he turned around and used 9/11 as an excuse to attack Iraq.  Most of all, I am so pissed that he had the gall to call Sept. 11 "Patriots' Day".  I mean, c'mon!  It should be a day to honor first-responders, many of whom died because they were the kind of people who will run toward trouble, just to help others.  Besides, the numbers 9-1-1 scream 'first responders' (not sure if our overseas pals will get that one)  That certain individuals and groups have hijacked this day (yes, I went there) for their own shallow, self-serving or political purposes has me ready to blow a gasket.  Anyway, if you read all that, thanks, it was cathartic.

I am not sure if you really would want to hear my oppinion on this subject, being a non-american, i have a fairly neutral and unattached oppinion about the 9-11 fiasco. I have seen some interesting footage and oppinions floating on the net, about how fake the "live footage" really is, and how fake the so-called airplanes are that crashed, or are not even real airplanes, maybe just large missiles etc. As this happenstance is far away, I am not sure how I can make an oppinion about this subject without hurting anybody or not to look to callous about the whole thing. I certainly have no high regard at all regarding the Bush administration, Junior nor Senior, they both meddled far to much in international affairs where they had no buisness at all imo, so getting their fingers burned in the process seems to me only logical, unfortunately, "getting their fingers burned" meant a possible terrorist attack (which could just as easily have been orchestrated by the Bush admin itself, and executed by any internal secret organisation, and subsequently put on the nationwide news in a very selective way), and regardless if its real or not, I do not think any people involved deserved what happened, real or not. And i agree wholeheartedly with Azure here that they should honor the lost ones and the hero's of the day, the emergency responce teams (police/ firebrigades etc.)

The armies subsequent invasion of Iraq had nothing to do whatsoever with terrorists, imo that was a weak excuse for getting at the oil Saddam was refusing the U.S., nothing more, and making the soldiers the hero of the day is unrespectfull for the real hero's.

/my rant, hope your not offended by my thoughts.

I am a bit worried about the repercussions it might bring, and aditionally, why would she go all soppy and openhearted to him, when they have only met 2 minutes?, i have no reason whatsoever yet to trust him at all.

I know V'ka has nothing to lose in his eyes, but I might, and therefore not want to risk anything. I i was more knowledgeable about the person and i could see him as a "follower" in some time, then maybe, but this has no basis atm.

Normally I would never pop into a game thread I'm not involved in to post a comment, but I gotta say Burning Spear, that was out of line. Azure saw the airplanes flying overhead and knew one guy killed in one of the planes and several others directly affected, not even to consder the impact upon his own life and you are talking about the lame ass thoroughly debunked conspiracy theories? Seriously? Whether or not you personally feel distanced from 9/11, someone you do actually know just related personal details of tragedy related to the event. I'm fairly distanced from 9/11, but I don't need to feel that connection to see that Azure was impacted and that he opened up about something important to him. Even if you don't care about 9/11 generally, you should at least make an effort to respect his feelings. Just because this is the internet doesn't mean there isn't a person beyond the screen.

Archdukechocula, it's OK, I'm not offended.  I've heard all the conspiracy theories even if I think they're all crap, just like the "the moon landings were faked" theories.  I hear it all.  I even had a guy in my class tell me he wasn't even going to observe a moment of silence 'because of his religion' (he's muslum).  Yea, THAT pissed me off, and I lost what little respect I had for the guy (which, considering where I teach, wasn't much in the first place).  But, I don't believe B.S. offended me in any way.  S'allright.  I will say tho, that considering the number of real conspiracies that have been brought to light (Honduras, Bay of Pigs, Panama, Gulf of Tonkin, Iran-Contra, The Anthrax attacks, Testing programs by our millitary, etc.)  that if, after 8 years, the prevailing wisdom still prevails, we can be pretty sure that it's right.  Secrets are hard to keep, things get out, people talk.  So I don't buy most conspiracy theories.  Occum's razor (not sure I spelled that name right)

Neither.  It's a title, nothing more (but nothing less, since it is a rather impressive title).  There would not have been one in each Incursion, but many would have had one.  Figure that it means he was a member of an inner circle with about 8 to 12 others of the same title.  Of the nine major Incursion worlds, probably six or so had a Queen's Necromancer, depending on the overall strategy.  Saev, for example, (where Ya'shenn served) did not.

It is an impressive title, though.  The chain of command for Toril's Incursion went; Overlord, Queen's Champion, Queen's Mage, Queen's Necromancer, Supreme Leader of Knights, Master Gish, etc. .... so #4 in command and still higher than the highest ranking Knight.

Re: BoG'r OOC.

On with ... oh shit, I've got to go to work now.  I'll be back in 10 hours or so.

Oh and please do send me that PM.  Also, please, guys I don't want my 9/11 rant to bring bad blood AT ALL.  That is the absolute LAST thing I want, so I extend appologies and goodwill to, and on behalf of, everyone, OK?
