I suppose the basic idea could be done via mindlink, but I'm thinking of actual bonuses being provided.  (Attack rolls, AC, or maybe initiative come to mind.)  Seems natural for psions with both telepathic and clairvoyant powers.

Azure -- what do you think

Azure -- what do you think about making an Intimidate check for taunting the yuan-ti?  And with what bonus, if so?  (Ya'shenn's Intimidate is untrained, but I think she gets something like a +6 bonus between her Charisma modifier and synergy with the Bluff skill.) 

Technically, the 'demoralize opponent' use requires "an opponent that you threaten in melee combat and that can see you."  Would the ability to project images of brain-sucking illithids into someone's mind be an acceptable substitute?  :)

I don't really know much about Na'rai's abilities, but:

ranged psionic powers

ranged weapons (bow, whatever)

(The skiffs have arrow slits.)

Could try an insane stunt involving meleeing the wyverns/yuan-ti and teleporting.  (I'm not sure I recommend that one though...Look at the Wyvern entry in the MM and note the Con damage from poison.  4-24 Con damage from ONE dose.  Not to mention that the yuan-ti might have poison as well.)

Well, yeah... No D-doors

Well, yeah... No D-doors left, not really a great shot, and no ranged powers. (I do however have to things of antitoxin). I created a chracter for closing to melee range with single powerful opponents (like mind flayers).

if the Wyverns come close

if the Wyverns come close enough to ram the ship i am in or when i could jump and enter melee with the rider of such a Yuanti, then i will make insane moves like that...

Ya'shenn is FAR from optimized for melee, but she's had to use a longsword a few times.  :)  Does Na have a missile weapon?  (If not, there is still probably a spare on board Na's skiff somewhere -- we are talking about githyanki here.)

If Na'rai had a teleport left, she could in theory even teleport to Kirath and de-poison him, but I don't know if that's something she would do anyhow.  (Single-use magic items aren't cheap...) It is likely that the (NPC) pilot on Na'rai's skiff has missive to get in touch with Kirath's coordinator.

Melee might even be possible too, but Na would be much more exposed to enemy fire.

The two striketeam leaders were Tar'geel a 6th level githyanki fighter and Xykk't a Duthka'gith Gish fighter 4/sorceror 4.

Also what exactly did the posion from the 1 lucky arrow shot do to poor Kirath? As you said he was incapitated.

1) There was a Psion too, as his coordinator.  What was her name?

2) I said before, but you might have missed it ... the poison was a plot device.  It incapacitates Kirath just long enough so that he doesn't know if his order to drop the illithid heads was followed or not, and who might have disobeyed.  He can regain conciousness at any time.

Yeah, a wyvern could pretty much outright kill us like that. As a pretty unintelligent beast, I'm hoping the wyvern won't risk using its stinger against creatures climbing/riding on its back, though.

Though I would feel a whole lot safer if we also had antitoxins aboard...

She's Geb, I think.

Ya'shenn still has the PP to cure poison -- on a good Fort save, anyway -- but even the initial effects of wyvern poison are ugly.

You know, Ya'shenn would feel much better if she could restore another 2 or so of Du'minh's Constitution score... Wish I'd thought to put that into the "between combats" post.

Yes.  Jump rolls and attacks.  This should be interesting.

Also, Na'rai has 5 d-doors per day.  This is what we agreed on, as trade-off for other abilities.  She's used 3, so she has 2 more.

Anything Du can do to contribute to the battle during those 5 turns?

Shooting with bow seems unlikely until we've gotten control, but how about reading magical auras of enemy forces and relaying that information to the fleet commanders through Ya'shenn?

For those rounds Du'minh must hold on for dear life.  Ii knows how to ride a dragon or dragon-kin, but she hasn't been bonded with THIS wyvern since it hatched, unlike the yan-ti whose blood is sow soaking the saddle.  5 full rounds to get control of the beast is generous, i think.  Not requiring 5 strength rolls from Du'minh is generous too, because until Ii has control, the wyvern wants you OFF.

how realistic is it to try

how realistic is it to try and get a Wyvern as a mount asset, untill i ever can get my hands on a suitable mount (*read: real dragon blue or red dragon), the feat for getting a dragon cohort is only 9th lvl, but to get the size i need to have me ride it, i think i need to be 15th lvl myself...

 

Zimmy, do you have in your repertoire Psychic reformation or something by which a Wyvern could be mentally reconditioned/ and reformed to have a different feat set/ loyalty? Smiling

She could pick Charm Monster next level.  I haven't decided what to do with Ya'shenn's next level, though.  (It's possible that Geb might have the ability, too.)

A wyvern mount would be very cool, though.  :)

As cool as it seems, its still 2nd best, lol, in the eyes of Ii'Jyka anyway...

 

And does she have Psychic Reformation or not, Zimmy? (its Telepathy 4)

Reason why i ask about this ability, is coz in combination to Charm, i see this as appropriate for such a reformation... reconditioning the brain of the monster, maybe swapping one feat or something and making it at least partially loyal to Gith, and not Yuanti is usefull imo..

Ya'shenn doesn't have Psychic Reformation (mainly because the power doesn't exist in the 3.0 rulebook).

Of course, a sufficient amount of mundane training might make the wyvern into a decent pet.  Take a while, though.
