Looks: i have swirling tattoo like patterns of shadowy wind and clouds all over my body, and my skin color is dusky and grayish as if i had been shadowy sun tanned (and olive skinned by itself). One might quickly notice that the female githyanki speaks an extremely ‘pure’ form of the language -- without accent, well enunciated, but also containing some archaic words that aren’t in widespread use these days. For those who have heard it before, it’s a perfect match for the ‘accent’ of the inhabitants of Tu’narath.
I am not sure if i wrote this myself or if i copied it from your description, but it was my initial intention to use this very clearly, regardless of copied, as the knight is from Tu'narath, and therefore has the same accent, but with more militairy cant then your character does...
dont want to step into yout background, but have u any ideas how we can "solve this"?
Daniel
Would it be OK if we talk about the accents on the BoGr OOC forum? I figure Tu'narath might be a bit like Victorian London in the sense that a city that large might have many native speech patterns. (It's also perfectly fine to me if Ii has a similar accent, being from the same city.) And Ii's accent might go into what I'd written about Githyanki Dialects. So how does Ii sound when she talks?
To make Zim happy, she wished to further the "accent discussion" to continue here...
hey Zim, wake up and reply then
My initial reaction: "Ii'Jyka'Vaar is from Tu'narath? Hahahahahaha! No wonder Ya'shenn reacted to her so negatively on their initial meeting!" (Basically, Ya'shenn has a rather intense dislike of many/most githyanki knights, having dealt with some that make Ii look sweet and gentle by comparison, and for a knight from Tu'narath, that dislike would be magnified.)
Of course, had she known at the time that Ii was from one of the Tu'narath orders, Ya'shenn might have acted more cautiously (however deeply offended), to avoid giving offense. Heh.
As for Ii's accent -- I'm guessing it would be something like the typical Tu'narath accent, with more harsh, militaristic language thrown in to reflect her training and outlook. Does that sound about right? (I imagine Ya'shenn would also recognize Ii's accent, for sure!)

Yep, that's pretty much it, though Auravision doesn't quite match up to a full successful reading of Detect Magic, technically speaking. The reason he's keeping conscious of illusion magic at the moment is more a result of paranoia and overt vigilance, especially after experiencing the confusion with Rey and a number of illithid mind tricks.

1) Nothing obvious. Rather, just a regular slave dominated by an illithid, so not currently under any influence now that said illithid is dead
2) Explosions. Very similar, in fact, to the thunderblasts Ar'dru used earlier.
Sense Motive is telling Ya'shenn good things, right?
Also -- I think Ya'shenn will be about done with the thrall after this round of questions. I don't want to slow down the storyline too much.

The Slave will even lead you to the galleries or the gardens.
He will not willingly lead you to the banquet hall, the kitchens (too many other slaves), the nobles' chambers, the gatehouse, the slave barracks, nor the torture chambers (he's afraid of them)
Thank you.

So:
Kirath and the Band of Copper are already attacking the Palace. (Don't know how many giths Kirath has under his command, or what weapons/specialties they have.)
Sark'ja's group is somewhere inside the Palace. (No idea of their status.)
Jhank'kor, Vivec, and the others are somewhere inside the Palace. (No idea of their status either.)
I'm assuming, with a Sense Motive of 24, the slave's info is basically accurate.
Sark'ja's group is NOT in the banquet hall (or the slave would have encountered them).
Sark'ja's group could be almost anywhere, but if they were captured alive, the torture chambers seem likely...
Fortunately for our party, the mind flayers seem disorganized and panicked at the moment.
The party can get to any of the locations the slave mentioned. We can expect 12-50 random slaves/thralls in each location (!).
The nobles are probably being mentally dominated by the illithids.
A couple of ideas:
The party could offer (or simply feign) temporary alliance with the yuan-ti to help get rid of the mind flayers, or at least to keep the yuan-ti from interfering. Ya'shenn's negate psionics might be especially helpful here.
Depending on how many NPC giths Kirath has under his command, they could help search for Sark'ja, Jhank'kor, etc. (Having a telepath in the party may help here.)
Does Ar'dru have some fire breath left today? There are also the incendiaries (if any are left) and the three illithid grenades for AoEs. Negate psionics for any enthralled.
Didn't Du'minh mention something about a portcullis earlier...?

It would be a good idea to see if we can investigate / meet up with Sark'ja's group and/or Vivec's group, but with nothing to on...

If the opportunity presents itself that's probably worth a shot. However, Du might be inclined to down-prioritize such attempts if they drag out to long negotiations, since that would give more illithids time to escape.
Good point. I don't know how much actual control Kirath has over the whole operation, but that would be a wise move - both because the two missing groups probably feature quite a number of giths that out-level Kirath's men and thus would aid the efficiency of the overall offense, because it would be a way for Kirath to gain our trust faster, and because it metagame-wise keeps us focused if NPCs are dispatched to aid NPCs.
Back when we were at planning stage, I figured a typical prime world palace would feature a drawbridge and portcullis. If we could enter the palace with relatively little ruckus we could have moved to cut off paths for enemy reinforcements.
Kirath's attack has changed all those considerations, however. With a full scale assault that includes whatever warmachines are causing these blasts, they've probably already taken out the drawbridge and any royal forces in the area are on full alert.
No plan survives contact with the enemy.
Once they are on the move, and the slave's back is turned, Gy-Nath speaks githyanki in a low snarl, "Weakling. I cannot stand a willing thrall. Ii, if you want to do the deed, otherwise I'll kill the fool myself."
[ooc: Gy is still githyanki, so I might as well put in some brutality for atmosphere]
Gy-Nath is such a sweetie.

Zimmy ignored my jest ah well, + i note the system is crapping up again....
As far as the forces that Kirath has at his disposal is a strikeforce that consists of two dozen Astral skiffs. These are armored flying transports that can carry three warriors, plus the driver. Arrow slits and hatches allow them to shoot hevy crossbows or drop alchemists' fire. The skiffs are very fast (normal speed 120', 100' if half-ton or more cargo, up to 1 ton) . They can easilly outrun a horse, and can triple their speed for short distances ( max speed about 36 mph) . They have a range of about 360 miles in 24 hours, but winds can affect this by up to 50% more or less. They are designed not to ever land, and can endure hurricane-force winds. These two dozen ships will be burning the Palace, and much of the surrounding city, from the air while the striketeams d-door inside. This is to occupy the Palace forces so they cannot aid the illithid.
So that should leave us free to wreack havoc on the illithids.

That sounds wicked awesome, Bladedancer! Can Kirath hypothetically have a skiff or three ordered to our location within the building? Not that I'm, uhm, planning anything...
Wasn't Ii supposed to be killing the slave so we can move on?
i thought he would bring us to the location first, but fine by me, ill chop his head of if thats whats needed... (am not that bloodthirsty in RL, not by a long shot...)
I think Gy only told the slave to lead ahead to get his back turned, so Ii could kill him with little fuss.
No worries about bloodthirst, its all about keeping to character.
heh, i think its gruesome, but it fits the sociopathic type i play, yea... hmmz, it it an instand kill btw or as i asked in the other post, do i need to roll as the weapon will take some of my life force as well..?

Hey I am all for it but ummm... Azure never gave me any more details but I would say that it would be likely that I would have mindlink up with at least one of the skiff captains Azure's call though. What did you have in mind though?

Well, I wasn't being entirely serious, I doubt our Evil Yet Awesome DM would let such a vessel fall into our hands...
But... They sound like they could be an immense aid inside as well as outside - we could hunt down illithids faster, blast through barricades, and simply have reliable and highly mobile cover to engage from and fall back to if things get hairy. Good times all around!
Agreeing with Dunamin here, but unlikely that our mighty DM will allow us to have one, hehehe....
Using a skiff indoors sounds like it'd be fun, actually, but there are few problems ...
1)How will you get it in?
2)What'll you do if it runs out of space?
3)How will it manuver? ('Average' flying manuverability, so corners could be a problem)
Of course, since your heading to the gardens, which are presumably partially open to the sky, bringing in a skiff might be possible.
-> Also, I assume Kirath has a real millitary operation set up, so one (or more) of the skiff drivers is a telepath, with orders to relay messages. Full multiple mind-links might be too draining, but a mindlink with the commander (Kirath) would be standard procedure, with missives to relay orders.
-> Ii should roll to hit (with flanking and surprise bonuses) and damage, but the slave has only 6 hp, so her blade's backlash can't exceed that.

Interesting, as the backlash is D6, lol

On further consideration, I might as well sketch some NPCs for this. 24 skiffs, so four 'sarth'
Gib - Psion 8-ish, Telepath* - primary coordinator
S'a'sch - Duthka'gith, Psion 6-ish, secondary coordinator & bombardment.
Xykkz't - Duthka'gith Gish (Ftr/Sor 4-ish each), striketeam leader
Tar-Geel - Githyanki Fighter 6-ish, striketeam leader
* While most githyankis' psi powers manifest as telekinetic (far hand) and psychoportive (d-door and concieling amorpha), some are blessed by Gith differently. Ya'shenn, for instance, is a clairsent instead of a kinetic. Gib is a telepath. Almost all githyanki can still d-door, whatever other abilities they have.
Do you mean that Gib has one or more telepathic talents as racial psi-like abilities, in addition to his (her?) Psion levels?

Kirath concentrates and reaches Gib via the mindlink. He then orders her to get relay orders to Tar-Geel to rendevous with Kirath and the newcomers with 3 squads to the gardens.
Bladedancer edit your post please. The point in letting the PCs go to a location in the Palace is for the party to have an adventure. Pulling in a bunch of no-name NPCs is not good for player fun, and just more work for the DM. (You are welcome to pull in one or more skiffs for air support though, that sounds fun)
Besides, In-Character, Kirath knowing he himself with a group of warriors going to deal with one possible place illithid could be would more likely order his troops elsewhere.
The party is going to the gardens because that and the torture chambers were the only ones of the listed possibilities that any PC expressed interest in. I suppose the torture chambers could be next. I also felt more like describing a garden scene than a torture-chamber one, but I suppose that's oply because winter's coming on here in NY.
Anybody have other suggestions? The Party can try the torture chambers next, or something else, and maybe even a third location, but no more than that. Kirath should be sending his minions to the places the PC party doesn't cover.
One more thing. I'd like a layout of PC HP before the next battle, since I don't know who took what rolls from Kirath's healing wand. B.Spear habitually lays out Ii's (thank you)
Ya'shenn doesn't particularly want the party to go to the torture chambers, but she figures it's a good place to look for Sark'ja and the others. (Although I am making an assumption there that illithids would do anything with githyanki other than consuming them immediately.) Another place to look would be the banquet hall (ugh), but the slave already indicated the githyanki aren't there.
Good question -- is Ya'shenn at 32 or 42 (or something else)? She'd happily accept healing if available, but others in the party need it more.

And,
I habitually do Ii's HP as she has fast healing and gains damage from her weapon per hit she makes, so to keep it clear and simple, i keep the update , i thought that would make our lives easier, lol .

No problem on editing the post I just thought we had decided on the gardens and Dunamin said he would like the support. As far as the healing from the wand I doled out the rolls as Gy-nath ordered the ranks. For some dang reason I couldn't separate the rolls out per player (still learning the system.)
Kirath has 54 hp.
The gardens, I think.

Well of course now that the thrall is now engulfed by a great sword I don't think he will be leading us anywhere.
Gardens and then torture chambers seems good, but any other sound option is fine with me, really.
I think everybody that asked for healing are fully restored. The first 4 charges of Kirath's wand is enough to heal Du'minh up, the 5th to heal Ya'shenn up, and the last 4 to heal Ar'dru up. That would match the order we requested in.
Noted. I specificly told Bladedancer to assume perfect success for 1 round for his intro.
If you want a more digestable scenario, you could say that since the illithid and thralls won initiative, they saw the PCs and fled back the way they were coming, only to be cut off by the d-dooring 'yanki.
Anyway, sorry to leave a bad taste in your mouth.
