Ar'dru. Duth'kagith (special half red dragon - half githyanki caste) and member of the Cult of Tiamat power bloc. Psychic warrior wielding a silver sword.
Close but Ar'dru isn't so firmly in the cult of Tiamat as that.
He was raised with the sole purpose of serving the people of Gith in general and the queen in particular. Thus with the death of the queen and the breakdown of Githyanki society he's looking for a new master, or death, whichever comes first.
His loyalty to the queen and the teachings of Gith make him equally likely to join many of the blocks although his draconic heritage inclines him towards Tiamat and many would assume association regardless of his real choices.

Which is why I love this party. The characters are deeper than they appear.
"Let us begone from this dank hole, then." The party enter their next portal, which leads to an Undersigil chamber on the doorstep of the Palace. When they arrive (trailing a major wave of muddy water), they find that the other strikeforce is there before them.
The chamber cotains a large basin, used by the illithid for washing themselves of Mudshow's filth should they have come that way. Beside it are two massive piles of monster-flesh, the remains of a pair of urophion sentries. There are also three illithid near the portal to the Palace.
I presume those Illithids are dead, right?
Yes, I should have said "three slain illithid"
Body Adjustment can heal a whole 2 points of temporary Str damage. Perhaps a nice nap would be good for Jhank'kor, though.

Your choice, but if he can't move under his own power, someone will have to aid him (likely Vivec)

YEAY, finally a crit....., dance of joy, hehe, sorry Zim... LOL
No problem.
Hey, Azure, did the party take the enchanted daggers from Lavendar's vault? If so, Ya'shenn might ask for one of them. (There's always her own dagger, but she wouldn't want to risk losing it, and I'm not sure that it's balanced for throwing anyway.)

Let me know if Du'minh is starting to turn translucent and jelly-like anytime.
Don't worry, it didn't make it inside the armor. I reserve the right for foes to make 'smell checks' to know you're coming, though.
Wow, even OOC the BoG Blues (TM) prevails on dice rolls!
That was fun. I was in the middle of writing a post where Ya'shenn was going to suggest leaving one of the thralls alive to glean information from.

Quotations in posts (using the new site code):
When writing a post, select "Input format" (it's next to "Dice Roller")
Select "BBCode w/Freelink"
It gets rid of the extra whitespace and basically makes quotations look more like the "old style" (the old website code).

i am not sure how to handle this insult, as i dont want to have to duel again, but this slight cannot go unnoticed...
She can chalk it up to "Well I AM the newest member of the group." but if you want to play her sociopatic personality, it should be more like. "Oh no you didn't! We'll see a*****e, not today, maybe not tomorrow or the next day, but I will pay you back eventually."
Yes, the DM is stirring up intra-party drama, again.
But in any case, also notice that Ii was the only one who got a rank, or even any indication of the area of skill, in that whole introduction. This is honor+ for Ii at the slight expense of the newcomer, because although Gy-Nath offers the Git'ribanis' service, Kirath really has no idea what capacity to use them in, save 'The Knight' who is sure to be a deadly physical combatant. This also forces Kirath to rely on the band's command structure, relaying orders through Gy-Nath (whose rank remains unstated) to the rest.
Basicly, I see the introduction as many layered. In all you can see it this way.
To Ii: net honor minus. If she were still backed by Vlaakith, Ii as a knight would have been introduced before Gy introduced himself. Instead, she is put in the place of a mere githwarrior. He softens it by refering her title and no one else's, but still ...
To Kirath: net honor plus. He called the raid "yours", but he obviously remains in command of his own group.
To K'tch: Big plus. K'tch is put in the place of sarth. In fact, he isn't making any attempt to poker-face his pride, and has a big, sharp-toothed grin.
To Everyone else: Nothing, but an issue might arrise if the newcomer starts issuing ill-advised orders directly to a party-member. Gy would have to step in at that point, because he made the offer, not the PC.
That's very clever.

For the dm to note I have the following 24 hour invocations up atm See the Unseen (combo of see invisibilty and darkvision out to 60ft) Entropic Warding (20% miss chance on missle attacks, leave no trail as pass without trace spell and cannot be tracked by scent) and Beguiling Influence (+6 bounus on Bluff,Intimidate and diplomacy checks)
Keeping Fell Flight as my ace in the hole.
Also how much does Kirath really know about the Palace's defences etc.?
Sorry guys, I'm on holiday for the next week or so (on a cruise liner so the internet's a little scetchy). Thus Ar'dru maybe playing the strong silent type even more than usual for the next little while. I'll post when I can.

Bladedancer's PC certainly had an unexpected introduction - he probably won't like it when he eventually finds out what Du'minh's specialty is.
That's very clever.
very clever and very annoying, hmmz
i dont want to agitate the group atm because we are finally starting to work together, and then our lovely dm screws that up with his NPc's comment, hmmz...
your not getting away with it, but for now it will silently brood away i guess....
Also how much does Kirath really know about the Palace's defences etc.?
Basic layout, but not floor plan.
Location of guard towers and barracks, but not patrol routes or duty stations.
General idea of the noble population and identity of certain high-ups, but not where they are.
About a dozen illithid in the Palace, but that could be as few as 8 or as many as 20.

Yea, sorry, but I wanted to give Ii an excuse for character development.
Honestly, disobeying an 'order' from Gy-Nath while showing him you're right and he's wrong would undermine his authority and balance the honor scales sufficiently. Of course, a sociopath might not be satisfied with balance.
Also, realize there are some reasons behind Gy's slight. Ii is a knight of Vlaakith, and the knights are not too popular post-Vlaakith with many githyanki, Gy included. He tries to keep his prejudice under wraps, but if he honors Ii, its going to be for killing illithid, not for being a knight. In fact, if he goes out of his way to praise Ii specificly for her part in the raids, that too would balance the scales (but there's that concept of balance again).
At any rate, I think the pride and honor-drive inherent in giths often results in these kinds of social tension.
Despite Gy's leadership skills and composure, he probably isn't unaffected by his earlier defeat when he dueled with Ii, or how she reacted on his "gallantry" when Du smashed Foreman's catwalk.
Roll with it.

Heh, yea, well, it fits but wasn't really needed, but its a nice twist none the less..
The newcommer is a Tiamat lackey, that much is obvious, and "my god" has enough links with this goddes.. and with Toril.. might i recocnize some of what said about Toril, Hlondeth and such? will elaborate in a PM..

Heheh, i intend to Roll and Play with it, for sure...
This "Deux ex Machina effective introduction" is not legal, he cannot make a teleport and further action in 1 round, so we would have had opportunity to react, this sucks...
If it serves the narrative to make a great story, who cares about mechanical details? It's not like there haven't been "dimension door attacks" before in the game.
I got no problem with the introduction.
While Ya'shenn usually shows respect to githyanki of higher rank in any case -- for what it's worth, her sense of personal loyalty to the kith'rak of the Band of Iron increased dramatically because of that event.

It might be true that my telejump/ 50% attack chance of hitting is along similar lines, it is not a sure success, and this was..3 kills taken from under our noses. (my choice to dislike it, though i will abide it, i still wanted to make my voice heard on this)
Sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes Azure just said to make a fitting entrance and not to worry about real game mechanics I will refrain from doing so again.
I don't have a problem with it; it was obviously intended as a plot device.

Oh yeah, I might've mixed it up.
