 By the way Bladedancer, both of your concepts sound very handy to the group at the moment. We're a bit close combat heavy so a mage for ranged support or a cleric for buffing/healing would be great (especially for Ar'dru at the moment).

I'll second that (a healer would be very helpful), but don't let needs of party composition sway you from a concept you really want to play.

Any power bloc affiliations you want to reveal? The Silver Eyes are always recruiting! Eye-wink Though after Azure out-of-game introduced the Unifists, I've been considering if that wouldn't be more appropriate to Du'minh...

Hrmm one of the reasons I

Hrmm one of the reasons I was going to make a cleric was that you were using most of yopur pp on healing. But if that's the case maybe I will just go back to the fighter/mage idea or a rogue with maximized UMD so I can both blast with wands or heal with them as needed with a a bit of sneaking and shooting thrown in.

ok I changed my mind (again)

ok I changed my mind (again) I was thinking of making a warlock (the class from Complete Arcane) if that will fit in ok. I figure I can blast a bit and use wands (with the take 10 feature on the umd) to heal etc. as needed. If this doesn't fit flavor wise the cleric will be fine with me.

Hey, like Dunamin said the most important thing is that you're happy with the concept. Don't let mechanics guide your choices too much or it'll be too hard to see the character for the stat-block!

 Having said that a Warlock would tick a lot of boxes for the party because of their wand use so that'd be great.Smile

Doesn't a warlock have either a Lower Planar bloodline or a pact with some powerful being? That could be interesting in a githyanki cultural context...

Very good.  I too k some names from 1st edition MM2 as various powerful servants of Tiamat.  They are mentioned in an earlier BoG'r post ( maybe around # 30, when Ar'dru returns from Baator.

Bel is the Lord of the First and Kurtulmak is the ruler of kobolds... not sure about the other two.

Just an idea... but what

Just an idea... but what about using wet fire on the water below/around Ar'dru and Ya'shenn?  (Without setting fire to the platform itself, of course.)  It would help prevent tentacle attacks/grapple to either of them, either could still use missile attacks, Ar'dru can fly, and Ya'shenn can still teleport if need be.

The disadvantage, of course, is that falling off wouldn't be advised, and it would be harder for the other giths to help them.  (I think all but Ii and Daraz have teleports though.)  There's still the aboleths' enslave ability, but Ar'dru and Ya'shenn both have good Will saves, and she has the negate psionics dorje...

Ar'dru doesn't really have

Ar'dru doesn't really have much in the way of missile capability (a few throwing weapons but that's about it) but I'm happy to spread a flask about for you. Since Ar'dru basically just asked how Ya'shenn would like to be defended - passively or aggressively you could suggest this IC.

Edit:  Come to think of it, Ya'shenn could give Ar'dru a psi-grenade or two to toss around in future rounds.  Basically, he's at like... 12 hp or so, and she doesn't really want to see him doing his silver sword thing until he has more HP to work with.

Commentary on the two

Commentary on the two healing potions:

Ya'shenn doesn't value healing potions as highly as some other party members might, because:

a) she can heal herself or others as long as she has PP remaining to do so

b) she's not terribly materialistic and will spend fairly freely if rrakkma/the githyanki "cause" is being served

c) there might be a few unbroken potions left in Mudshow's crate

d) after looting the weapons from the brothel and the safe in the slaughterhouse, the party is rich.

She's also getting low on PP and hoping to have a few left for the Palace. Just for those who may be curious about her mindset.

Well, yes, but there are a few stipulations:

This is a githyanki campaign.  All characters must be githyanki (githzerai, gith pirates, and Athasian gith will be considered, but as of now the party is 100% githyanki (plus one half-dragon).  See the first post for more info.

Also, I'll be staring up a new PS game soon, with a very different flavor.  See "The Painted Cage"
