There are no marks of enthrallment (only a few illithid know how do them anyway) CLUE ALERT FOR OBSERVANT PLAYERS
OK, I'll bite:
1) Most obvious: like most thralls, the hob isn't mind-mark-worthy.
2) Possibly, no Tamer Creed involvement in the enthrallment of this particular guy (i.e., not Will).
3) I'm wondering a bit if there's something ... unusual... about Lavendar's willingness to make use of his own powers of enthrallment.

The illithid itself seems malnourished, but also somewhat robust, perhaps from the constant weight, perhaps from previous musculature.
While it's probably not the reason for this illithid's physical appearance, I've been wondering:
What do Tamers do when they get old? Physical aging would be a bigger problem for flayers with fighter (rogue, etc.) levels than for other illithids.

When three githwarriors teleport in, Lavendar hands a thrall a blade and bolts for the vault.
[DM - Master Lavendar will try to pull the vault door closed, pushing one of the thralls in too, and shut the door. The other thralls will attack the gith. Anybody with a high enough Initiative can get in the vault with them, but the the githyanki who just teleported in will have to get past the thralls' AoO's]
Not to tempt Evil DM or anything, but guess who would have been positioned directly in front of that open vault door, grabbing weapons...? 'Lythe.' :help!!:

Oooh, tied my initiative with Lavendar. If Ya'shenn hadn't ensured us passage inside the vault, it could have been fun trying to smash into the vault door just as Lavendar was closing it - hopefully catching some limbs and tentacles on opposite sides of the vault. :twisted:

Got my last exam tomorrow so I should be able to post more frequently after that (though as noted, I'll be gone from next sunday on festival).
Didn't want to say anything until it was official, but ... I got the job. New hours, M-F 7am to 4 pm. Finally I can tell the bus/taxi night job to pike it. I won't, partly because they've never turned stag on me, partly because the day-manager of 16 years moved to Kansas, so they need me. Still, it's good to know I could, and it's good that I won't be working past midnight anymore, and its good that I can still earn a few extra stingers in public transportation from time to time. I can catch the local HiFi ley lines from the parking lot, but it's spotty, and I need 5-10 minutes, which I don't often get.
So anyway, I might not be posting as often, or at the times I have been, but I'll only know that once I get my feet under me at the new place, which will be a different kind of high-intensity activity.

I'm not Azure, so I'm just guessing, but if Ii and Du'minh had to move (and take AoOs) in order to get to the vault, that would mean a single attack action, not a full attack action, in round 1.

Incidentally, I hope I'm not being completely chicken here. As much as I'd love to do so, I doubt that Ya'shenn and Daraz together have enough HP-damaging capability to take out Lavendar.
