If not always 100 true on the info, Wiki is useful for easy access and general info jup. (same goes for computers, internet, mobile phones etc.)
Years ago we could live without all those, nowaday's even the house wife needs the mobile to call the husband about what he wants that night for dinner...sigh, that is so silly....

Incidentally, I'm used to "If you take a 5-foot step as your only movement that round, you don't eat the usual AoO, provided no squares threaten yours after you move." I've been out of the D&D loop for a few months, though, so I'm not 100% sure on that.

Yea, that's fine, but you are on a restricted space. DM rules the guard won't get an AoO, but will only be able to use the dorje in the 1st round of combat freely. If the guard hits, you'll need to pass concentration checks after that.
Benefits of crystal dorje:
easy to aim
activate with speed of thought
only usable by psionic characters
Drawbacks of crystal dorje:
limited charges with no way of telling how many are left in one that is found
ranged weapon, like a wand, that requires concentration to use
only usable by psionic characters
Oh, couple of questions -- how many power points does Ya'shenn have remaining? (I'm sure she used some while being NPC'd.) Actually, easier question -- how many did she spend as an NPC?
Also, did Ya'shenn do a sense motive on this group of guards before the fight started (i.e., did she notice that they seem to be guarding whatever's on the other side of those doors)?

Spent 10 points as NPC, 33 left. Yes, Ya'shenn should have a total of 43 PsiPoints (27 for lvl 8 Psion + 16 bonus points for 18 charisma)
Sense motive (or lack therof) simply reveals this: Guards on this side had bows, guard on the other side did not. Therfore the guards in this room were more likely concerned with stopping anybody from leaving the inner offices.
- Domination - Guard knows exactly what is going on, but cannot resist Ya'shenn's will. Guard gets savings throw if forced to act contrary to pre-established patters (like attack an illithid or pimp).
- Mindlink (shallow probe) - pry data right out of the Hob's brainbox.]
I have to think about this for a couple. Yay! It's fun to play with telepathy, ohyes.

Can you imagine what Jhank'kor's reaction would have been if he'd watched Ya'shenn psionically dominate someone?

In a word: Bad.
To be fair, Daraz's reaction might be more negative if he had a will save
Heh I don't actually like Ar'dru that much but damn he's fun to play!
I sort of cast him as the classic 'bad' samurai who is all about honour to one's foe so long as they're worthy of being considered an equal but he has a sociopathic disregard of everyone else. Think Kojiro from Musashi. Of course there's a bunch of other stuff chucked in.
As a side note this is probably far closer to what samurai were like than the 'chivalrous oriental knight' that gets portrayed in modern cinema.

You know, I feel kind of bad for Daraz. He's been nearly incinerated, disintegrated, and de-brained, and is now being essentially forced to associate with not one but two not-very-nice telepaths.
You hear that, Azure? Daraz needs something positive to happen to his character sometime.

Oh, and Daraz just needs a big warm fuzzy gith group hug.
With tentacles on top.
The DM likes hints too, though. I had a bit of a brain workout imagining what the 'thids would consider "perverted". Came up with a few answers, but chose a more PG-13 option.
I'm a bit hazy on the specifics of the battle plan...
If I correctly, it went something like Ar'dru sowing chaos within the brothel, Ya'shenn and Daraz infiltrating and tracking down illithid offices, and the warrior trio cutting off portal escape routes.
However, were we supposed to stay just within the main chambers of the portal, or should we work our way towards illithid offices? Had we agreed on a rendevouz within the brothel with any of the others?

I think it went like this:
Ar'dru draws off guards with fire attack.
Ya'shenn and Daraz infutrate and cut off escape into Illithid House via vault-portals.
Warriors attack, going from street-portal towards vault-portals. That way, if they encounter the illithid masters, they'll kill 'em, but if said masters try to flee, they'll be ambushed by Ya'shenn and Daraz.
Got it, thanks!

You know, I'm trying to decide what to have Ya'shenn do with her new 'pets,' since I don't want them near Lavender and Violet. (It sounds like their conditioning/Will's conditioning supersedes her own, and they could attempt to re-dominate the thralls anyway.)
She could, for example:
-Order them to go wreak some havoc upstairs in the brothel. (I'm concerned that someone might recognize the hob and wonder why he's not downstairs, though.)
-Order them to flee as fast as their legs will carry them.
-Keep the hob where he is for now, but (attempt to) change his instructions, to make sure any PCs in the inner chambers can get out again. (I wouldn't be too surprised if the door is one of those that can't easily be opened from the inside...)
-Slay them, to prevent their being redominated.
Hmm...
Opinions?

My opinion doesn't matter in the slightest but I'm always for the less violent option!
Hmm, I think I'd suggest using the guard to find and draw away more guards. Perhaps by telling him to muster as many men as he can lay authority on, and lead them somewhere far from your location and that of the main portal, to defeat the invaders (perhaps tell them to look for a khaasta raid party?)
That way we have fewer armed forces to deal with on the whole, which could save us valuable time while hunting the illithid masters. Coincidentally, it might be a less violent option as Dire desires, though that would be unintentional - peaceful resolutions is pretty counter to githyanki nature  (though it might not be to Ya'shenn's, specifically).
Oh, and in case anyone's wondering, I'm just waiting for Ii'Jyka and Gy-Nath to take their turns before posting...
Ya'shenn has 11 ranks in Diplomacy. True story.
That said, I wonder how many people were surprised that she takes sadistic pleasure in psionically dominating others. She's (mostly) a fairly extreme example of "peaceful, polite, and respectful" (Guide to the Astral Plane) where other githyanki are concerned, but is mostly indifferent to barbarians. She would be more likely to have used Diplomacy (maybe with a little Bluff thrown in) on that one Clueless human warrior the others encountered (or, failing that, a Suggestion), but more as a result of her own psychology and skillset (and for the sake of efficiency, and not wasting resources...) than for "hippie" reasons.

Don't you have to get high to be a hippy? I'm just not violent.
Regardless, it’s such a central arsenal of the telepathically gifted, that even for a race that despises master-slave relationships it seems too effective to ignore altogether. I would imagine there's just a certain tone on how gith telepaths are thought:
“Use the graith dispassionately, to further the cause of the People without emotional investment. Do not become the self-satisfying puppetmaster who manipulates for the sake of the act”.
That seems very possible.
I don't think Ya'shenn is a very devoted follower of that particular teaching.
You could maybe beat up the satyr, since I think Du'minh has only disarmed him so far.

Right , will do, hope for a bit of shish-kebab... will edit my previous post then for it..
I'll just wait for the resolution of Ii's (and possibly Gy's) satyr-skewering before posting Du'minh's next course of action (though looking at rolls, the outcome looks promising!).
I hope so , otherwise i would feel a tad insecure about my fighting capabilities

Heh, I also crossed the border some time ago, it seems!
I'm not sure to say this without sounding critical of anyone so please just bear in mind that I don't mean to sound that way if I do.
Azure. Your NPCs all seem really interesting and stand out compared to allot of games I've seen. Does it bother you that they tend to get killed off so quickly or is that the point? I mean, what motivates you to create so many unusual characters and then pit them against the killing machines of Git'riban?

My motivation for creating NPCs is simply as a creative outlet. At that, I have litreally dozens of NPCs in my PS campaign at home who haven't shown up here (and in all likelyhood, won't).
As for their mortality vs the githyanki, well, everybody's gotta die sometime.
But really, sometimes I'm tempted to try keep 'em alive, but just as often I do enjoy watching them get killed spectacularly! Yes, I'm a bit morbid that way. Besides, sometimes tis just the roll of the dice. Take Boz the Draconian, I never planned on him getting killed, but he rolled a natural 1 on a savings throw, so there it is. Besides, sometimes a dying NPC stands out in the mind more than one who survives.
That being said, I do try to make a good NPC's death significant. Once again taking Boz for example, his death turned into a fairly significant plot point.
Thanks for the compliment by the way, it is nice to know that my NPCs make an impression.
Come to think of it, there have been a few NPC overlaps from my home game: Gy-Nath, Telas-Niah, Grazz the Accursed (bit character, only showed up once), Inc the Alchemist, and Zur Khan. That's it, all the others have been exclusive to Git'riban. Well, except for Firebringer Lahar, he was one of the comanders in my Incursion campaign.
wasn't that on the eyes? but i get the logic anyway, yes, thnx...
