Yea, that's basicly it. I's catch-as-catch-can with the booty. The focus is more on collecting tenticled heads (in various states of messy ) than on getting paid.
I was hoping, character-wise, the PCs would not be that big on collecting coin. This is partially from the nature of the characters, their dungeon-crawling isn't about money, it's about war. Therefore spoils have gone more towards "who can use this?" or "who killed this illithid?" than "there are five of us so I get one-fifth."
Notice, in fact, that Lahar the Firebringer claimed no spoils, not even the skull of the illithid he slew, but did rob the bodies of the two rogues who were going to turn stag on him.
K'tch is a colorful character.

Yea, I like my characters to live & breathe. I have friends who are, or were, in various types of love/hate relationships. The "she's a mean, self-absorbed bitch, but every time she comes over we end up having sex" relationship is probably the worst one for your room-mate to be having. Much better than the "we've lived together for seven years, but every now and then she flips out and cold-clocks me while I'm driving or stabs me with a fork during dinner for smiling at the waitress" that my best friend had.
Yeah, they definitely know each other, but she's not sure if Gy-Nath really wants to talk about the upcoming raid with him. There are degrees of trust, and she's pretty paranoid at this point about potential thralls or other people who might be troublesome. You shouldn't be loose-lipped around a bard, anyhow.

Githyanki Bard. Trained to gather intel and keep secrets until a report is to be made. Trained also in codes and numbers, and able to communicate musicly with each other.
You can't really blame the PCs for becoming paranoid in a campaign like BoGr, though.

Sorry if it seems like half the party is NPCs, so far there's Gy-Nath, Jhank'kor*, and now K'tch. Not sure if Obsidian Orb will will coming along, but I doubt it. She's not likely to reveal her attempts to make ties with the "Yanki Clan Gith" to her underlings, and being the chief she can't just disappear for a few hours to go dungeoncrawling. Do expect, however, to pick up another NPC or two in the near future.
{EDIT} Y'know what? I'm NOT sorry! Creating characters is fun!
Sorry for being AWOL - Family + academic commitments = literally not even 20 minutes to take a regular breather here.
In the meantime Azure, please don't kill off Rey (haha, jk, I know you're not that kind of DM.. right?!) I'll be posting sporadically until the end of May, so perhaps you can automatically use DM fiat for Rey instead of waiting for my response, or if that gets annoying, he can disappear until I start posting regularly, and I'll come up with a story.
we cool?
I dunno, I bet Azure is looking at the vampire template.

Well, actually, I had witten into Ista K'ait's personality and background that one thing she will NOT do is create spawn. Having been a vampire spawn unter the control of her creator-vampire was like being a thrall, something that she, as a githyanki vampire, will not willingly do. Note there is a big difference between dominating someone (temporary and breakable) and making them into a vampire (perminant, and the thralldom can only be broken by her destruction.)
Of course, she is also a necromancer, so Rey'arteb rising up as a wight or swordwraith is possible.

Hmm... I ought to do a Psicraft on the shortsword (and might as well do the same on the scimitars for good measure). I'm guessing either Hostile Empathic Transfer on the former, or a magical HP-absorption enchantment.

Kind of an off-the-wall question, but the veiled reference to Grazz, an admitted brain trader, made me think of it.
Is Vilquar referred to in Githyanki religion/history/scripture/etc.?
I would guess that he is, if only because he did so much damage to the rebellion at that time.

Fourth Circle of Zerthimon. Since he did an incredible amount of damage to the Liberation movement, I was thinking he probably shows up in Githyanki scripture also. (It's not entirely clear whether Vilquar happened before or after Gith and Zerthimon met.) Was wondering.

Here's what I've got so far, but I am open to suggestions for additional 'rooms' or sensible defences. Illithid wouldn't really go for mechanical traps or magic glyphs (unless you are trying to attack the arcanists). There are likely to be psionic defences in the form of resonance stones, suggestions, power-manifesting crystals, etc as well.
The party may enter the following ‘rooms’ in any order, but only the *green* portal leads back to Git’riban.

Blue-Yellow-Red: There are actually three Undersigil lairs so similar that they are indistinguishable. To navigate them correctly, the portals must be used in the correct order, which is complicated by the fact that they skip about randomly. This means that after the first portal is activated, the portal key must be switched. Either another person must take point, or the person on point must switch portal keys. The keys are three gems, while a fourth will activate a portal back to the crumbing underworld beneath Git’riban.
Type: Lair
Portals to: Git’riban, Illithid House
Defense: Mostly guards.
Feel: Dungeoncrawl
The Mud Show: A large area of Undersigil that has portals not only to prime worlds, but the plane of ooze as well. The halls and corridors periodically flood, and the dabus have modified the area to drain away. There is only one resident, an insane (even by the illithids’ highest standards) illithid bard.
Type: Lair
Portals to: Illithid House, Prime Septs
Defenses: “Mud Show” backed up by a possible mechanical advantage.
Feel: Jaws meets Carnival of Souls
The Packing House: Brains aren’t the only things illithids eat, and lots of folks in Sigil like a good steak. One of the largest slaughterhouses in the city hides a secret, down in the basements and blood-slick drains. Secret portals to prime world Underdarks mirror those to verdant prime world fields in the public spaces above, and little do those planar-minded herdsmen know what they are really feeding …
Type: Dummy Business
Portals to: Illithid House, Prime Septs, Prime Worlds
Defenses: Innocent bystanders, guards, watch beasts, some very disturbed illithid wallowing ankle-deep in blood.
Feel: Slasher flick.
The Hive Brothel: Pretty self explanatory, if you want more detail go look up some internet porn
Type: Dummy Business
Portals to: Illithid House
Defenses: Guards, pimps, feisty whores, johns, slavers lead by an illithid.
Feel: This could go in a few directions, really, it could turn from slightly comical to tragic to brutal quite quickly.
The Emperor’s Palace: The imperial family has long been sequestered in their gigantic and opulent palace. None of the servants or guards granted the privilege of personally sering the imperial family are ever allowed to leave the grounds again.
Type: Controlled Prime Nation
Portals to: Illithid House, Prime Sept
Defense: Guard beasts, (few) guards.
Feel: C’mon I know you’ve thought about burning down the White House at least once.
very cool descriptions!, Azure, and the Xmass tree is fun
Oooh, shiny tasty treats there, Azure!
I got my preference in mind, and its not the sort of naughtiness that BS implied.
Should we wait for Gy to present it all in-game before discussing it?
And bigtime kudos for the "Feel" descriptions! Its great to have a choice in what sort of genre or atmosphere you'd like the campaign to head for next!

Just breaking the flow, but I've still got no answer about items, yet. There is also the question of my ASF in armor. I think I sent you the PM, Azure.
Hmm.
You know, at the moment I'm torn between going with what I originally posted (or something similar) or not. Mostly, I'm not sure exactly how much the new folks are expected to hear.
I do think that whatever the Tamer Creed may (or may not) be up to may be hugely important, though. (Besides, the idea pretty much nailed me between the eyes like a thunderbolt.)

Though it might be considered risky by Ya'shenn to part with it to some of the newer members, I'd suggest taking a leap of faith: We know OOC that Ii is a PC and thus sooner or later will get involved on much the same level, and K'tch seems pretty "DM-approved" what with the level of trust Gy places in him, and Azure's emphasis on githyanki bards being focused on keeping secrets.
Is there some free online source on the net you could suggest to get familiar with illithid creeds? Don't have the Illithiad, only the Lords of Madness.
Creeds are mostly handled in the Illithiad. (You can get a PDF copy from rpgnow.com for like $5.) They are mentioned in the 3e Underdark rulebook, though -- specifically, the section about the illithid city of Oryndoll.

Band of Pyrite: Small & unremarkable.
I figured that the loot would be divided up by those who took part in the battles. So in this case Ar'dru wouldn't expect to share in any of the loot but wouldn't have have been expected to share anything he'd brought back from Baator.
