That was just for setting flavor. Nobody's going to break into Ya'shenn's place ... yet.

But, but, you're implying that Ya'shenn is 'light...'
Though I admit she surprises me by being a more 'heroic' character than I expected. In some ways.
I, too, have noticed her to be a good deal more altruistic and soft than the archetypical githyanki, but I guess that fits well with being a Reconciliation member.
It's all in fun until the party's heavy-hitters get nailed with a charm person, suggestion, or dominate. :shock:

Waiting on Weishan to post, but I do not really have to. If he does not post by later tonight, I will set up the "The next day ..." post. There are some things I want to know, and some character direction from DirectorDM;
Du'minh: Do you plan to go back to your house and report to K'dar? Would you do so quickly if, say, Gy-Nath or another PC shows up?
Daraz: Kii'dem gives Daraz the ultimatum, like from the Godfather, the whole "One day I will call you, and on that day you will do what I ask ... " routine. This is the Reconcilliation we're talking about here, so their goals suit Daraz to a degree, and they can give him a stronger alabi as a 'yanki. They are also not as likely to burn him as any comparable organization, and his identity is known only to the leader. Still, at the end of the day, it's Daraz's decision how he wants to take this, and how he deals with it.
Ar'dru: The duthka'gith can fly back and even stop into his own place briefly before making the meeting at Gy-Nath's, since he's already rested at Lind's. Azriael, you may post at any time. If you post sooner than Dunamin, then Ar'dru can wake Du'minh up.
Rey'arteb: Trias, hate so say it but you don't post as much as the others. You can be in on the raid, but frankly if Vivec does not show up at the meeting, then he can meet the party in Undersigil on their way into the House, and we can give him a viable reason. I'm sure you'll have posted by then, but if not, they might find Vivec's bloodless corpse in front of the first portal in.
Ya'shenn: DM assuming she will rest and then go to Gy-Nath's when she awakens. If you post sooner than Dunamin, then Ya'shenn can wake Du'minh up. Additionally, her research has revealed that the other dorje manifests Quintessence. A full dorje has 50 charges, but the rules are unclear as to whether or not one is able to determine how many charges are in one that is found. [Evil DM says NO!]
So I can dual-wield dorjes of Negate Psionics, eh? Cool.

It's Australia day for me today (being in the wrong hemisphere and all). My family usually finds some wierd way to celebrate it in the States but we failed this year.
Happy day to those Down Under!
I figured Du'minh before the raid would have liked to:
Check up on K'dar's health and recovery.
Report about recent events.
Hear how the Mim-sleeper-agent-drama was going to be handled by the Eyes and if anything new about it had turned up.
Perhaps learn a bit more about the Silver Eyes and recent events related to them (relic recovery, bloc politics), etc.
Now that Ar'dru has showed up, I'll just play on with the Rish having spent the night at Gy's, but perhaps we could summarize a talk between Du and K'dar at some point before the raid?
It's all in fun until the party's heavy-hitters get nailed with a charm person, suggestion, or dominate. :shock:
Hmm, of those three wouldn't only dominate be able to order him to attack allies? I figured Charm Person was more about changing perception so the caster seemed like a friend, and Suggestions had to sound reasonable to the target's mind?

I would say it depends on the power/how a particular command is worded, and the psycyhological "no-nos" of the victim. In Du'minh's case, I don't think it would necessarily be hard to use a suggestion to make him absolutely believe that someone fighting at his side is really, say, a githzerai assassin fully intending to murder him as he sleeps.[I shouldn't be giving EvilDM ideas.]
Based on the notes on mind flayer tactics in the MM, it looks like a common command on charmed targets is 'guard me.' That leaves room for interpretation by the victim -- a charmed Du'minh might disarm a fellow githyanki rather than killing him. It DOES turn them into friendly units for the mind flayer, though.
The good news is, all githyanki have some power resistance. It's more than normally hard for a mind flayer to convince a gith that it's his best friend.

Well, the other thing to remember is that giving a charmed or dominated individual an order counter to their established psyche is dicey. I established on page 1 that an illithid suggesting "spare me" is so abhorent to his githyanki nature that Du'minh balked. "Guard me" might work on adventurers, but not on a trained githwarrior or zerth. An illthid would have to make his orders much more devious, or use false sensory input or something.
Also related to the above: One of the reasons I use metals and gems as Warband names, is I figure that substances that identify one's Warband and others close to it cannot be used as a focus for subconcious thralldom on that individual. The early githyanki realized this and it became culturally ingrained.
Been wanting to post a dream sequence for a while. :mrgreen:

I've been busy lately, and likely won't be able to post in the game for the next 12 hours or so (sleep + work), but as soon as I get a chance I'll have Du'minh respond to all the giths who seem to be crowding outside Gy-Nath's (Ar'dru, Ya'shenn, and Ii'Jyka'Vaar, right?).
Didn't know you were joining, Burning Spear, but welcome to the game!
Actually, what is the 'proper' term to use when addressing a duthka'gith? I could have sworn I read a 'cousin' a couple of times in earlier posts, but I'm not sure. (Whatever the 'proper' term is, she'd most likely be using it.)

Proper? Most githyanki use "cousin", which is what they'd use for a gith pirate or athasian gith that deserved a little respect. Of course "brother" would be a lot more polite and inviting, but most githyanki are prejudiced against the halfbreeds, so it becomes 'cousin', and the term gets picked up even by those who have no problem with duthka'gith, entering the lexicon. The duthka'gith, on their part, accept being called 'cousin' because they hold themselves as a cut above anyway.
So, 'cousin' is the proper term, if you will, but calling Ar'dru "brother" would be an unexpectedly nice thing to do.
Again, welcome. Best of luck with the dice

I have to seriously wonder how Jhank'kor and Ya'shenn would have interacted. That PC had a really fiery temper. I wonder if his computer problems (I read him complaining him about them on one of the BoGr threads) got him.

Actually I think psions may be well suited, especially someone like Lahar.
Du'minh's worst save is Reflex so he'd be a good target for "blaster" type psionicists and the benefits of his prestige class is mostly about granting effeciency against mages and mental effects.

Most effects would have to get past the racial power resistance (don't 3.5 githyanki builds have that as well?). It's not that bad, but it helps.

Its something, but the PR is very minor. According to the XPH, illithids manifest as 9th level psions - that means they'll only fail if they roll 3 or lower when trying to penetrate the PR of a githyanki with 8 class levels.
Just to jump in and introduce myself:
Daniel is my real name, am a 35 y/o Netherlander, living 2 years in the UK now.
I play Ii'Jyka'Vaar, the female bulky gith with the big weapons .
some things i came across in the Dungeon 100, of july 2003:
Draa'zvir = dragon's breath
G'hel'zor = brainfire
Ir'zharn = recall agony
Mirhanac = crystallize
Rzydu'un = ectoplasmic blast
T'rac = insanity
Vlaakith = death
If i find more of this kind of info, i will edit here
Azure, does Daraz know where everyone is meeting? That kind of influences my next post.
An Azure I am not, but back when, the group agreed to meet at Gy-Nath's after "taking care of" the thralls. And Ya'shenn would have let him know if asked. (Welcome back!)

just budging into the conversation to socialize,
all the arts i have ever done is Dancing , semi proffesional, and still do btw, have never had studies like u guys/ girls have in the states, am going to be a bouncer and do some dance performances hopefully.
I've taken kung-fu for about seven years. Only the past three really count, though, because I didn't take it very seriously until I realized that if I tried I wasn't actually terrible at it.
I have 7 years of Judo under my belt in that regard..
You know, Azure, I have this 'feeling' that someone or something is going to bother Ya'shenn in her sleep. Maybe it's the fact that you precisely described the exact room dimensions of her home, not to mention describing the exits.
