I somehow have trouble picturing how we can discretely hustle through the streets of Git'riban past dabus and giths with a huge illithid spying device in our hands, an illithid tentacle dangling out of Daraz' skull, and the stench of sewers and vomit trailing behind. (but I just checked, and Du'minh would actually be able to carry spying-tree on top of his gear and still only be at a Medium load - which makes no difference, since he's already wearing Heavy armor).
Hmm... I got an idea, I'll edit it into my latest IC post.

How gross is the water in the basin? If it's not too bad, we could wash the worst of the blood/illithid blood/psi-active slime off. Daraz might be able to hide the tentacle with his magic hat (though I doubt Du'minh knows about that). Not sure on the tree, though. Heh!

I thought of it before, but didn't make a point of it, but the hat was either knocked off or Daraz's concentration was, well, screwed. Daraz looks like Daraz, not Ech'Tev. Not much has really changed, except now he's bald (and bloody), and his clothes are darker.
Well, decide IC if Du'minh suspects Daraz, considering his actions, the situation, and the fact that he did look like a 'kind of zerai-ish looking githyanki' in the first place. For that matter so does Vivec. (SHRUGS)
Poor Du'minh... I mean, look at the party members he's surrounded with.

I've long thought that -- should Du'minh ever be psionically dominated, say by an illithid -- he would have a good shot at taking out all three of them.

Daraz has had quite a day: almost incinerated, almost disintigrated, and almost decerebrated in the span of a few hours.
Trogs are an interesting race, I had fun exploring them when I ran Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. There's this rogue-cleric in the campaign whom I turned into a semi-recurring villian, and it struck me - how can trogs be stealthy with that stench? I gave him an obsession with cleanliness and regular use of an alchemical substance that neutralized the troggy odour.
Azure, would Ya'shenn have an idea of how much healing Daraz would cost? And what kind of healer is he going to, anyway...?

Next up: What relation, if any, is there between Tamer mind-marks and psionic seals?
(It's especially confusing due to the fact that in the Illithiad, psionic seals were permanent, rather than one-shot items like in Lords of Madness. In fact, flayers would usually put them on themselves, though they would occasionally scribe them on especially prized slaves.)

Both are actually NPCs in my other PS game, though N'Gar Brother-Eater started off as an NPC in another campaign I ran too! I had an old Dragon Mag with "The Ecology of the Flind" I used to base him on. He was a mercinary captain of some Gnoll Longbowmen with four other flind Lt., {Thinking...} Hrook'Oor (Howls-with-throat), Nargrotarg (Black-cave-of-stone), Raag-Kraar (Render-of-hides), and Gr'Kroth (Crushes-skulls-with-anger). The jist of the article is that every gnoll tribe has a totem animal they mist hunt and kill to attain adulthood, with tribes whose totems are things like humans or elves are highly regarded. "Flind" is a modification of a gnollish word for "Canibal" because their totem animal is the gnoll (highest of all, of course).
Nish Lahss is a character based on Beyond Countless Doorways by M.Cook, an indep d20 book. 'The Lizard Kingdoms' are a world where dinosaurs and reptililian races never faltered in dominanace. Mammilian races are mostly primitive goblins, gully dwarves, and pigmy humans who hunt at night and hide during the day. Lizard Folk, Dire Kobolds, Firenewts, etc. have thriving societies that trade with formian hives. The Trogs, adapted to cool caves and mountains, are the newest rising power, refining metals and contoling trade through the mountain passes. As far as the smell goes, I figured Trogs have amazing control of their scent glands, just as they do of their camoflage. A trog could smell like roses if she was hiding in a rose bush. It just so happens that they've learned that if they smell like burning garbage, sh*t, and ripe carrion, humanoids tend to become incapacitated, and use that to their advantage in battle.
A lot.
More likely, a favor. The healers' clinics are controled by the Reconciliation. Ya'shenn sort-of-knows this, though she isn't privy to the details of just how deep it goes, because she just got to Sigil.

Oy, Azure, are we supposed to meet up at Gy-Nath's immediately (the array and all), or go sleep somewhere and rendezvous later?
Also, is Ya'shenn at this point able to figure out exactly which powers are stored in the grenades and the force dorje? (Mostly I want to go check if they're Power Resistance: Yes or not.)

Either one. The original plan was to rest first, but you could do that at Gy's if need be.
The force dorje has greater concussion, the 'grenades' have brilliant blast.

Mi casa est su casa.
By searching around a bit, Du'minh can find a ring of keys that goes to the doors, so he can open the big door to get the array in, and lock up if we wants to leave.
You notice the DM just handed Daraz and Ya'shenn some candy. One of the worst aspects of the 3rd ed was the fewness of 'feats' characters get. I mean, there's like a million cool feats and they're still breeding! PCs should get, like, a dozen extra feats in little batches over time.
Du'minh and Ar'dru are fairly deserving too, so they're next when the time is right IC.
I can easily advance Rey'arteb by applying the vampire template.
Mmm, candy.
But, but, you're implying that Ya'shenn is 'light...'
Though I admit she surprises me by being a more 'heroic' character than I expected. In some ways.

Wecome to "Lit Minute"
Notice the shades of irony in Kii'dem, a character that I invented in ten minutes and developed over a few days. (yes, Kii'dem is 'medic' backward)
Githyanki, local leader of the Reconcilliation, but has no qualms about using people, or their memories to further her own goals. Ingrained in this is the irony that her actions are, in a way, related to the reson there are two major gith races in the first place. Zerthimon wasn't willing to resort to 'The Enemy's Work' to defeat the Enemy, and here Kii'dem is acting like her own little hive-mind. Oh, she is pefectly justified, and just doing what she has to to advance the greater good .......
Well, I've been using it, but only in the context of psi. Lahar doesn't just know fire, he *knows* fire. Kii'dem *knows* hurt. That is the only context githyanki use the term, generally.
I just spelled that backwards. *facepalm*

"Do not taunt Happy-Fun-Head."
The vampiric illithid head on a chain is from my local PS campaign (2ed) just as is Gy-Nath. He alluded earlier to taking out "The Thingpin" a criminal mastermind based in Bedlam which proved to be an illithid. "Thingpin" was double-crossed by an aboleth, and (somehow) turned vampiric. Gy-Nath tracked Thing down off-camera, and I decided it was more fun to have a caged head on a chain.
