Yea, that yellow is painful alright. I might actually use it for 'Will'.

Sorry I haven't been posting, but it's been absolutely insane the last couple of days. Some guy crashed a stolen SUV into my yard, destroyed my garden, killed my cherry tree, smashed my picnic table, and in general made an unholy mess, then ran off into the woods.
RL from hell.
But I will continue BoG'r once I get an idea of what to write, 'K?

I hold you blameless, just help me create a world to retreat to.
Oh, yes... assuming Githmir hasn't been destroyed entirely in your continuity, Azure. I assume (hope) Ya'shenn would have heard about that if it had been.

Yes, but he'll have to make a move silently roll to sneak up on Mim.
This means that like, a heart shot (or something) might be better than a head shot, if Daraz is using the crossbow. Making Mim's head explode with a crossbow bolt might tempt ye EvilDM too much.

Yeah, that's kind of how I felt when I realized I could have gone assasin.
Sorry, but Mim DID roll a nat. 20 on sense motive. With the number of 1's people roll around here, I've GOT to reward 20's
If you want good DM's advice, you can talk your ways out of this one. Mim IS a traitor, he does have a thrall-mark on his CNS that has evaded detection. You have the clues to prove he's a traitor, but you'd better do it quick because Schaz-Khaal will be pissed that you shot his son ... oops I mean 'apprentice'
Eh, that's ok. Thralls who roll natural 20s happen.
Last round, I was like, "What does he expect her to do, melee him to death?!" (Sorry, Wei.) Psion (Telepath) doesn't include a whole lot of abilities to do real physical damage... most psionic attacks have fairly noticeable displays when manifested (and don't incapacitate)... and a mind blast would probably take out Daraz, Schaaz-Khaal, and the next shop down the road. Mind control is out.
Azure, can you name a couple of breakable things that got broken in the past round or two? I'll try and post something.

Ooh, nice.
The mark on Mim (and the old guy Du'minh is visiting, and Miik'ka). Mind mark, or thrall mark, or whatever you want to call it.
I'm almost certain that illithids 'draw' those marks using acid from their tentacles. Now think about that with relation to Mim. And, since we're talking about a mind flayer here, it might have just fed on someone else's savory grey matter right before putting said mark on Mim.
See why Ya'shenn feels such revulsion?

Yes, now if we could only get Trias back, or Ben ...
Now, one of the main reasons I like doing play-by-post, is that I'm always up for becoming a better writer. As such, I want my players to critique my work. Tell me, what do you like, not like, want more of, etc. Are the characters of depth? Are descriptions clear yet imaginative? Does the language flow? Is it too R-rated? How am I doing with Theme? Feel of the setting? Are the plotlines catchy? Let me know.
So, on to the next ...
If the party is going through with the raid on illithid house (and why wouldn't they?) I'm going to have to come up with the stuff. Basicly, using Grazz's knowledge, you all can go after any of the three hubs. There will be three smaller dungeons inbetween, however, as you catch connecting portals. Althogh, technicly, each of the three hubs would be connected to different minor lairs and portal-switches, and there are a variable number of portals to take in each case, I am simplyfying it for plot purposes.
I am also, however giving you a choice. I will come up with three small Undersigil lairs, give you guys some info on each, then you all decide on which ones to tackle first.
So far, my brainstorm rained out (well, snowed out actually) the following ideas: {EDIT}
The Mud Show - An area of Undersigil with alternating portals to ooze, water, and sometimes septs on the primes. The result is a series of chambers filled with 0-5 feet of water, mud, or a combinanation. The dabus have engineered the chambers to drain away, so there may not be anything, or the PCs may be up to their armpits in muck. The only perminant resident is "Mud Show" an illthid bard. Barmy as they come, it dwells apart from the others, the only brains it gets are sub-standard, old, diseased, or otherwise 'marginally edible' thralls brought from the prime septs as appeasements for the guardian, who is barmy enough to attack other ghaik from time to time.
The King and Id - This lair is acually on a prime world. The palace of a king hosts more than one portal to Sigil, and the illithid have become the power behind the throne in order to control them. Of course, they don't want some fool guard or servant to blunder into them, so certain areas of the royal palace are off-limits to all but the seldom-seen royal family, though the palace always needs new servants, cooks, and guards it seems ...
The third I haven't come up with yet. Shoot, if I come up with a fourth and fifth, I might let you choose between 'em.{ED}
{}Marching Order - Typical Undersigil lairs, all looking the same but really being separate places requiring different portal keys, which must be used in the correct sequence, by the person(s) on point. Shifting nature of the portals means that if the 'next' portal key doesn't activte a portal, you have to avoid that portal, in case one of the other keys sets it off, and you loose track of which one you're in. A 'failsafe' of a fourth portal key, when used on some other portals in the area, brings you to a random spot on the streets of Sigil, making this one a good escape route too.
{}In the Closet - Some of the 'rooms' in Illithid House are legit Sigilan businesses as cover, while behind the scenes the mind flayers benefit financially as well as devouring random customers or employees from time to time. Ideas for front businesses: busy inn, high-priced lady's ward purfumery or gem shop, hive ward brothel, soup kitchen near the Gatehouse, humanoid bar, seedy gambing den, fine silk clothing store, orphanage (damn you EvilDM).
It’s a good writer that looks for constructive criticism, Azure. I still feel too ill at the moment to write in-depth feedback on your style, but suffice to say that this is the best PBP game I’ve played. Ever.
I will say that it is definitely not too R-rated for my tastes. The githyanki lifestyle is grim and brutal, and I think the game would lose its feel if it became too “censored”. One bit of note I have, though, is that I hope the coming adventures take into account our lesser total gear value in accordance to levels.
Sorry if I don’t post as frequently as usually, I have a world of stress being piled on top of my sickness at the moment.
Well, cozy up, drink a lot of fluids, vitamin c, some hot tea, and soup with fresh vegies if you can get 'em. I just came off being sick for a couple of days myself. I had 2 cartons of orange juice on my desk for my final on friday.
... and thanks.
1) Illithids are proficient swimmers. (They don't have gills post-ceremorphosis, but they can swim just fine.)
2) Ring of Water Breathing.
3) distant splash, followed by screams
I really shouldn't be typing this in the presence of EvilDM.
