Blazon - " . . . is an animate burning rock about six inches across that avoids all beings larger than it. "

- Monstrous Compendium, Appendix III

I was torn between ideas,

offering A:

prior to shading the "rock."

and offering B:

Since I don't actually see the rock in A, I vote B.

Looks good, the shaded version, though the rock is a bit skull-like in shape.

So far, I like B. However, it all depends on how you color it. If you want to make the rock all crispy and burned, go B. But if you end up making the rock red hot, then A will work. As long as you dont leave it completly white, I think it will be nice.

On a side note, I like your fire.

The 1st one reminds me more of a helion, a fire elemental of law, which appears as a ring of fire...

The rock actually had the appearance of a "skull" as you put it.
