Binders On The Planes

I'd just like to express my admeration for the Base class Binder. It's from the Tome of Magic and plays really well (Currently playing one in an Ebberron game).

There are numerous reference to Planescape material in the vestiges (Primus, layers of the Abyss, etc). I really think It's a class that would work well on the planes.

What is everyone elses view on this adaptable class?

I like the look of it but

I like the look of it but haven't had a chance to play one yet.

I agree that some of the stuff in the Vestige lore could fit very nicely into a Planescape campaign although the binders are less likely to be openly persecuted in Planescape because of the cosmopolitan nature of the setting (at least in Sigil).

very interesting class, in

very interesting class, in our rules system we transformed it into feat trees and rituals, my friend played an adu'ja (plant race) arcanist, shamanistic character particularly adept in binding spirits of land (like in Rashemen/FR) not actually vestiges

Hey, I thought about

Hey, I thought about starting a thread about this some time ago! I agree with you. From what I've seen, the binders can be pretty good planewalkers. By changing their vestiges they can adapt to different planar environments and situations.

I can imagine binders being just looooved by the Athar, and scorned upon by the dustmen, but I'm not sure about that last part.

Do we know the dustman stance towards the vestiges? Is it possible that they see vestiges as having achieved some form of true death? Or do they just hate them for obvious reasons?

We can also come up with many great new vestiges for the planes I think.
