Just setting up my character's domains and spells. I was having him multiclass as a Cleric/Rouge, though if you want I can change that. He's more of a charismatic scholar and healer than a fighter, though he can help in a pinch.
I'm sure the group can use a diplomatic type, because Uma is not that!
Uma is actually a half-scro, not half-orc, but I'm assuming that most planars can't easily tell just by looking at one. Especially if the scro is a half-breed.

While she has an above-average Intelligence (scro have no Int penalty), Uma does not have a high Wisdom. As such she actually has a negative modifier to Sense Motive. 
Heehee, Na'Sahlih is going to have to tread very carefully about explaining his diety and beliefs. He will most likely give the bare facts and leave the rest for a later date, though he certainly won't mind answering questions.

Uma is 'only' about 5'10". She has the orcish bone structure, though.
the chains on the colourful lady are taken off when she is injected into the cell.. the bracers remain however..

Wasn't 100% clear on the room set-up.
The room is a fairly large dorm, with about a dozen beds and a common area on one side. There are no windows, the only light coming from three large lanterns hanging from chains in the ceiling. They are too high to reach without a ladder, and are probably magical so never need refueling.
There is a small bathroom separate from the main dorm, with an entrance near the common area. It contains a 'seat' (think outhouse hole, but likely much deeper) and a sink. There is a drain in the sink, and a waterpipe that constantly trickles (surprisingly clean) water, filling the bathroom with a soothing sound. There is no door between the batroom and the common dorm, but there is a curtain on a rod bolted firmly to the stone.
There are no cells or bars, the door to the dorm is thick wood, with two ports; one eye-level and one at the base of the door so the keepers can slide food trays in without opening the door. Each port has a sliding panel, the one at eye level also has a couple of bars to prevent a reach-through (though Igo is small enough that his arm might fit)
Nice layout.
For the record, I love our little group of barmies. Let's hope they don't get mazed by Her Serenity!!!!

Zim was starting to think right, it could be an object, a thought, a song, a phrase, etc.
If it's an object, maybe check around for something 'missing' from the room. Do they let you have toothbrushes? Of course, even EvilDM couldn't be that cruel, as to have a portal that you couldn't open because you can't lay hands on the key ... could he?
Same goes for a song or phrase nobody knows. Of course it would be funny to see some barmy walk repeatedly into the door singing a medley . . .

Of course, as a half-scro, Umbrukh-Uma knows Elvish, so if it's "Speak, friend, and enter" we'll be out of the Gatehouse in no time!

I don't know if you all got the 'potato' joke there. The potato pancakes and potato stew are a nod to the 'Potato King of Sigil' a barmy berk whose ill-worded wish won him an ever-full sack of spuds (the exact wording of what his wish was is an ongoing topic of discussion throughout Sigil, I'm sure). He mostly walks around with it upended, leaving a trail of potatoes down the street, and is known not to be stingy when it comes to giving out free spuds. Thus, potatoes are a large part of the Sigilan diet, and since they tend to be cheap or free, and because the Potato King himself lives in the Hive, the poorer one is the larger percentage of one's diet is potatoes.
I didn't get it, anyway, I adjusted with my last post it ever so slightly.. to have it "in line" with my background

Zim, now that I know you're around, and will post soon, I can do a 'dream' post for your PC that will give a clue or two. Or you can do it. Essence of the dream will be thus; the portal opens, but leads to a fatal environment or otherwise undesirable plane.

Could the PCs try to figure out the portal key for a bit before we resort to the deus (dea?) ex machina? Uma just didn't want to attempt to figure out portal keys right in front of a bunch of heavily armed Gatehouse guards.
Given where they are, would it be possible to try either "broken shackles" or "broken chains" as a portal key? Uma does have a high STR score...
