Anything about Sensory Stones.

I'm totally fascinated of these little stones and maybe one could make.. but first things first. I'd really appreciate any information you could give about them, especially:
1) How are they made and who can do it if someone can.
2) How long do they 'last'.
3) Which 'capacity' do they have?

Anything about Sensory Stones.

The only experience I have with the Society of Sensation's sensory stones is in the comupter game Planescape: Torment. So I'll tell you what I know from that.

1. To join the Society one of your memories that contains strong feelings (preferably from all five senses) must be recorded into an empty sensory stone. It would seem that this could be done at any Sensate enclave, or anywhere someone could join the faction. I would guess a high level artificer from that faction creates them.

2. Hundreds if not thousands of years considering some of the memories recorded in that game. My guess, effectively forever if the stone isn't destroyed somehow.

3. Smaller stones, available in the public sensoriums, seem to contain as much sensory information (ie all 5 senses) but have much shorter experiences than the ones in the private sensoriums. They seem to range from a few seconds to many minutes depending on the size or quality of the stone.
