I was driving home yesterday and thought of something a little weird...currently reading zelazny's Ambar books and Corwins sword "Grayswandir" gave me an idea...now a talking magical sword may not be that original but i thought of what if a magic sword had enough of a personality/ego that it thought no weilder was good enough to weild it so it imagines a wielder it feels is a good enough to use it.
I'm just thinking of how it would be handled in a combat situation. If the pc's attack the wielder, as an imaginary construct of the sword, would he take damage or say the pc's weapons just pass through and the only way to kill him is to attack the sword...
More thinking of it as a surprise NPC...though im trying to thinkof how it would work...

I'd think that folks with the Improved Disarm feat would quickly dismantle the sword's wielder...
