Given how much enthusiasm there is about another game that looks stillborn, I've decided to start a game myself.
Tenth level characters, and 32 point buy. Standard starting gold. Feel free to use anything off of www.wizards.com, www.d20srd.com, and the Planescape Campaign Setting on the main site.

Character is mostly complete. How are we handling hit points? And does the same methodology apply to animal companions?
same here - btw, should we have some rule about post frequency (eg. you should post at least once every 2 days during gaming)
I check this message board about twice a day, so I have no problem with this.
Use the average HP ((n+1)/2 for an n-sided die, round down after totalling them up), or roll with the die roller here.
I would like to join, but I have a few questions first:
Can you give a list of books we can pick classes from?
Are there any alignment restrictions or that such?
Are there any clues you can give as to what this campaign will entail?
Allowable books: Anything in the SRD, Planescape Campaign Setting, anything on the WotC website, Eberron Campaign Setting, Sharn City of Towers, Shining South, Manual of the Planes, and any material from a WotC book you PM me. I'd prefer to stay away from 3rd party material, though.
No alignment restrictions, though playing "I kill for the hell of it" Evil is likely to get you killed. "I'm a selfish bastard" Evil and "I want to conquer the world, and recognize that I need allies to do so" Evil are fine though.
As for what the campaign will entail... I'm not entirely sure yet. I will likely involve elder evils, the Far Realm, and a few trips to the Prime, but I haven't hammered out a plot yet.
I've been itching to play a wizard for awhile, so I expect I'm in. Character will hopefully be up in mostly-complete draft form by the end of the weekend.

Just noticed this thread -- I hope it's not too late to join! I've only been in one (abortive) PBeM before, but perhaps a play-by-post will be somewhat faster-paced. Looking over the character list, I see wizards and magic use feature heavily. For a bit of balance, allow me to rapidly propose: a berk with a sword! That's right, a fighter -- a centaur Fighter 8, to be precise.
(Was thinking about becoming a paladin, but there's already enough spellcasting in this party... besides, if I became a centaur Paladin, what would I do with a mount? ;^) )
If the concept works and there's still an opening, I can whip the character up by tomorrow evening.
HP for a Centaur Fighter 8 with Con 18, if I've understood the template rules correctly:
8hp (first racial die) +
3d8hp (additional monstrous racial dice) +
8d10 (fighter class dice)
+ 48 (12*4 Con bonus).

Total HP, 101. And wow, I should totally have taken the average roll. Ah well, such is the luck of the dice.
The GM's decision goes on this one, Jem, but my understanding of monster classes and LA is that monster HD count as full class levels (often crappy class levels, mind you, but still class levels). Your character would accordingly be a centaur Ftr4 - 4 'levels' of monstrous humanoid, +2 LA, 4 class levels for a total ECL of 10.
If this were not the case, a player could come to an ECL 10 game with, say, a Very Young Copper Dragon PC (8 dragon HD, LA +3) and seven levels of Barbarian on top, and have 15d12 hit dice, a +15 BAB, flight, exceptional senses and a couple of breath weapons. Shouldn't be hard to see why the rules as written consider such a character to be effectively an 18th-level character, not a 10th-level one.
Aah. That makes sense, although it means I'll essentially have to scrap my character sheet. Remove three feats, 12 skill points, a chunk of equipment...

...okay, the next time I try to write up something with a racial template I'm going to have the GM sitting beside me. Ptolemy is a human now, and I'll redo the character sheet in a much simpler fashion, although it'll take me another day.
Nick, in case you need info to write plot, Ptolemy is still roughly the same type: human, Ftr 10, a nice guy if a little rough around the edges. From a backwater community on Elysium, he enlisted to see the worlds, got noticed as officer material and was shipped off to various Upper Planar academies to get an education. (Indeed, he is a bit bookish, although still deadly with a greatsword). After serving his enlistment he headed to Sigil with vague notions about touring the planes, joining one of the great quests (smite evil, solve eternal mysteries, something like that). Cipher (NG), although not exactly dedicated -- he just knew them from Elysium, so they're who he joined.
Well, actually, as an ECL 10 character, you'd have the equipment of a level 10 character regardless of whether you were a centaur or a human. Eldersphinx is right when he says you'd only be a fighter 4, though. You'd only lose two feats, as well (unless you were adding those levels of fighter on top of your monstrous humanoid levels).
Ptolemy's gettin' closer to done... rerolling HP for a human Ftr 10. 10d10, with +10 from 10 levels of +1 Con bonus.
So total, 78 HP. Better... relatively speaking. ;^)

In summary, Ptolemy is an Elysium-born human Ftr 10, with a broad experience of the planes from his time serving with various militias (mostly of various Upper Planes) and a notably intellectual bent for a Cipher, which suggests he mostly signed up because that's what you do when you move from Elysium to Sigil. Don't let the habits of relaxing with paints or harp fool you, though; he's still capable of taking a hit and responding in kind. He's in the market for a purpose in life.

You've only spent 26 of the 32 points for your ability scores, assuming your bonus points from levelling went into Strength.
Ah-ha! Thank you for the close read. I was wondering if level-up attribute bonuses were to be included, so I just bought with the 32.
If I've got 6 more to play with though... hmm... well, we'll keep the contributions relatively even so that he's still the same sort of fellow. 1 more level each in Dex, Con, Int (costing 2), Wis, and Cha. This improves his Dex mod (done) and his Cha mod (done).

Gah, it seems you already have plenty of players for this game. Shame, as it seems to be the only one taking shape at the monent (at least that has caught my eye)
