Is there a site that has 2e PS adventures converted to 3.5? Has the planewalker.com crew given any thought about puting old PS adventure conversions on their site if there were people willing to create them?
2e PS module conversions?
I think it's legal to just convert encounters and stats. There's a link on Enworld which has converted material for old modules:
http://www.enworld.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=4
Each conversion has a copyright notice at the end of the module. They refer to it as the "Wizards of the Coast, Inc. ESD Conversion Agreement v1.0. "
I don't know much about legal mumbo jumbo when it comes to open gaming content, but that's what I've seen.
I think that would be great to have on the site! If people are willing to make the conversion (yes, just the stats, no story elements), we can certainly post them. I'm thinking it'd be a great addition to Kytos' Hooks.
Although our editors can make sure it is compliant, it would make our lives easier to follow EN World's guidelines (http://www.enworld.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewsdownload&sid=5).
Then just send them to [REDACTED] and we'll take it from there.
Thanks for bringing up this topic, I think I'll post a link to this thread over on the PW_Members list. This might also be a good place to start laying claim to any adventures you want to convert.
I'm running Fires of Dis right now and have converted everything myself. I could write up my changes and shoot it someones way for review. The only thing is that I focus more on story than on rules so my stats might not be converted correctly, I just did what seemed to work with my group. But it could be a base for someone to edit that's more experienced with rules.
If we are allowed to do this once I get to know 3rd edition better I might be willing to give a hand, I hope to run some of the adventures in my upcoming Planescape campaign.
Well - I know we were planning on making our own modules - so converting the old would fit too. But I'd be worried about the legal issues of taking the old material...
Though if we just converted encounters and stats and left the entirety of the rest alone... *musing*
Ken? Thoughts?
