Xanist is one of Sigil's most acclaimed inventors, a member of the Free League who keeps a workshop in the Clerk's Ward. She's arrogant and obsessed with her appearance. Though she's a competent wizard, she thinks magic is a crutch for the intellectually impaired - she prefers mechanical solutions to every problem.
