TSR is the publisher of Dungeons and Dragons. Short for Tactical Studies Rules, the company was founded by Gary Gygax in 1972. Aside from D&D, the company sold may other games, included a Conan the Barbarian RPG and the Endless Quest gamebooks.
In the late 80s, the company began to fall into debt due to poor management, and the company (And its intellectual properties) was bought by Wizards of the Coast in 1997.
