Tammuz is god of vegetation in the Babylonian Pantheon, as well as Gatekeeper of Heaven. This god is loved by Ishtar. Each year he dies in the autumn, descending to the realm of Ereshkigal, but he is reborn in the spring.
He appears as a handsome young man wearing a kilt.
