Ran, the sea-ogress wife of Aegir, is a lesser goddess of Chaotic Neutral alignment. Their daughters are the nine Tempests; through them, she is the grandmother of Heimdall. She is renowned for her hospitality, but also for sinking ships.
She dwells with her husband in Asgard in the hall of Hlesvang, beneath the lake known as Aegirsholm.
