Patch is a patch of Razorvine, made sentient by the experimental magic of the rogue Modron, Ylem. The Cambion Rule-of-Three, who learned the secrets of serpent+trees in his youth in Azzagrat, has learned to communicate with Patch, and it tells him what he wants to know in exchange for blood.
