Elminster Aumar (Born 212 DR) is the preeminent face of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. A powerful mage, founder of the Harpers, and Chosen of Mystra (Toril's goddess of magic), he has had temporary careers as a thief, warrior, priest of Mystra. He was born in the now-deceased kingdom of Athalantar in Shadowdale, and still resides there to this day. Some of his other adventures and exploit can be read in his books by Ed Greenwood.
