Asima, the Unanticipated, was a faceless Obyrith demon lord representing ill surprises. Asima, who died long ago, is said to have played a role in the creation of the Grand+Abyss. It ordered a Klurichir called the Guardian of the Gates to guard the Layer, and it has done so in all the eons since.
