Colored Pencils on Watercolor. I use a variety of media. This resolution is rough on my computer.
Rogue Modron (Shallas) Leaving Mechanus
Most resolution scans are rough for the works i've found - it's hard sometimes to make something show well. I've got some watercolors that I have *yet* to get to look right in a scan. Done on canvas board, the scanner picks up the texture so much that it adds 'lines' to the work.
Yeah, the image has TONS more subtle color than this. Jordar no likee. I think I'm going to have to start with a different media after I finish the oils on Her Serenity...
Is it possible taking a picture and scanning that instead from the photo might work better? I know some folks who do that for big pieces
It's weird, but on my computer, the resolution is fine. But when I saw it for the first time on another, the image was very dark... Curiouser and curiouser.
Monitor settings?
Other than the Wiggum-styled nose (which I feel is a little *too* primal for even a *rogue* modron), I love this image Jordarad. Good work
This walking box actually looks pretty tough, not the sort to be messed around with. Refreshingly non-comical...
I'm Samuel M. Wright, and you're not.
The story of Shallas is one rife with chaos and evil, and this rogue modron slipping from Law and Neutrality to his true choices which include the pointlessness of his existance. There are some laws that are nearly unbreakable... And then there are those that splinter under the madness of Agathion.
Shallas is a Bleaker Barbarian/Bard. That kind of outlook makes me look at it in a different light. Hence the spikes, spines, and more full plating; the more primal feel of it.
(And yes, I know Rogue Modrons are still lawful as per cannon. Rule #0 makes the cut here.)
The nose is more of a vacancy, rather than a pig-style. Two nasal orifices with no tip. In the computer image, it comes out very wrong... *shrug*
Thanks again for the feedback.
Out of curiousity, what media was this done in? Color pencils or acrylic?
