Planar Renovation Project

Hello,

I'm new here, and never have played Planescape up to now. I'm planning to launch a small (at first) campaign in this universe, and so I'm collecting material to decide what will be my own "canon" references.

The forum seems rather quiet right now, so I hope someone will find this message :)

I've seen in a "old" thread http://www.planewalker.com/content/17-planar-species-reimagining a reference to the Planar Renovation Project... but I can't find anything more about it.
I suppose this was an intent at having a revisiting and correct the things less playable in the official books. And I suppose this was before the crash of old planewalker and that is the reason I can't find anything right now.
What is the status of the project ? Was it compiled somewhere, is there a document (even work-in-progress) or a wiki with all the stuff that was said / decided ?

Thanks in advance :)

It is pretty quiet around here, but I like to think at least a handful of us are still lurking around at any given time.

Welcome Jaileleu

I'm very curious as to what value a new set of eyes will find in one of my favorite broad topics on this board. I was very active on many of the original threads (not saying that my contributions were all that great - but I was an active contributor).

Even if you don't like the direction(s) the community went on new ideas for the planes, I always found that the topics sparked my imagination. I hope it does the same for you.

Even before your post, I was thinking of revisiting the RPP just to stir up some conversation again. But then I thought, I might just be beating a dead horse. But if there are any new berks out there, I'd love grafting some new ideas into my old conceptions of the planes.

Well I'm not expert of the planes at all. I've only read the content of the PSCS, and not really planning to read each of the "Planes of..." box set. The problem is that for a first approach of the multiverse, is a bit too much informations. So I'm sure I will be able to challenge your ideas :)

But when the campaign will be started, maybe it will not be possible to move back and change things.

I will try to read all threads though, and if I find something that catch my attention, I'll open a new one here in the new forum.

I still lurk, but haven't had

I still lurk, but haven't had time to devote to thinking/writing about stuff.

The Planar Renovation Project threads were a lot of fun to play around in.

Don't know if it matters to

Don't know if it matters to anyone here, but I've been mining these threads for ideas that will inspire and improve my game. Been writing about it for about a year (as found here).

This forum seems to have sporadic periods of activity; regardless, I wanted to let y'all know I appreciate the sharing.

This is, in fact, excellent

This is, in fact, excellent work. Wow !!!
Thank you so much for sharing. I will read them all and certainly use a lot in my campaign.

As for myself, I think I will use the description of 5E for the inner/elemental planes. I like the way they are described, more accessible than in Planescape Setting where it is almost impossible to enter them without instant death due to lack of breathing and so on.

I am not a fan of 5E D&D, I

I am not a fan of 5E D&D, I like 3E and have no idea why another edition after that one was even needed. But any new Planescape content would be much appreciated. I want to see a sequel to Faction War, some deeper explorations of faction philosophy, and more information on the Gatetowns and Hinterlands, whatever rules are used.

You know, we did many Planar

You know, we did many Planar Renovation threads but I don't think we ever did anything substantial with the gate-towns. I think that could be a very interesting thread.

adventures vs. PC levels charts

Greetings,

I've been a Planescape DM since its debut and some time ago I made this chart plotting canon material publishing dates vs. PC levels:

A Planescape adventures timeline vs. PC levels chart - continuity A: publication dates

then thought about the following possible rearrangement that could be useful for a start-anew campaign (I omitted boxed sets' and Well of Worlds' adventures there):

A Planescape adventures timeline vs. PC levels chart - continuity B: levelwise dates

I share them here hoping they're useful to someone around the [Prime Material] World.
Sorry if they're not amazingly clear, they started just as a quick sketch and I did not seriously plan their final form.
