Conversion Guide for Planescape to Mage: the Ascension

A while ago I was emailed a copy of a conversion for Planescape to Mage: the Ascension. At the time I had no idea who the author was, so it took quite awhile for me to track down Mr. James O'Rance. I recently got in touch with Mr. O'Rance and he graciously gave us permission to host his work.

For those of you not familiar with Mage it was developed by White Wolf as part of their World of Darkness setting. It's most significant element came in the form of a freeform flexible Magic system, fully supportive of nearly anything a player's devious little mind could engineer. As such, it is nearly ideal for similar magical systems and belief effects in Planescape.

If your gaming group is fond of the White Wolf system, this is one to check out.

More information on Mage the Ascension can be found at White Wolf Games:

I think it's worth

I think it's worth mentioning that Mr James O'Rance no longer has the supplemental stuff on planar creatures and NPC's that he mentions in the PDF. I e-mailed him to see if he would send me a copy but it's been a very long time since he made this conversion and that he no longer has a copy of that material himself. I figured that I may save him a few e-mails if I let people know that.

That said, does anyone have those missing documents? Mr Rance really made some compelling material here and I'd love to make use of it.
