An ordinary-looking fern, the Spire Fern only grows on the Outlands, the lowest plants being found almost a mile up the Spire. Canny bloods avoid the plant, because when ingested it produces wild hallucinations for almost an entire day, which are not the best thing when at that altitude! Rumor has it that some who fall while under the influence of Spire Fern have ended up on the Astral, although this may just well be screed.
