Planar Diseases

Excerpts from "Planes of Disease" by famous Dustman doctor Hikelliam, who argues that diseases are a right way to offer death, saying that artificial means are not adequate to evolution.

Subversively named, this disease originated in the ranks of sympathetic birds, spreading to humanoids after consumption of their meat and eggs. The birds, on the other hand, have come to see fewer and fewer of their numbers afflicted with it.

Arising from the belief that Dustmen are unproductive and barren beings, symptoms include misshapen eggs or embryos, with possible infertility, greenish watery secretions, swelling of the area around the eyes (responsible for a morbid appearance) and development of strange quirks and gestures in behavior.

These quirks are similar to those of prolonged hearing in Pandemonium. However, they are oriented towards more passive and apathetic behaviour. Manias and catatonia follow. The final stage, after a three-month evolution, is complete paralysis with eventual death.

The only known way to kill the virus is to use the rainbow beetle extract that may be found in the Mbe realms or forests in Arborea. After three days, the bodily functions return to normal.
